Ordering ice

Just as an FYI.... you can get cold bottles of water at Horseshoe either at their little store and another stand just to the right of the chair rentals. They were not cheap but not ridiculous either compared to other places. They were the larger liter bottles. Just in case you decide you do not want to lug stuff with you.

Make sure you specify tap water. Otherwise, they might freeze up some seawater for you.

(Which might actually be a good thing if you want to keep a bottle of bubbly cold in an ice bucket.):p

The ship will NEVER give you frozen sea water.

Au contraire, it is a very common thing to use sea water for the ice in ice buckets, medical ice bags, or other non-potable uses. Saves a lot of money since all the drinking water is desalinated sea water.

They will NEVER give you sea water when providing ice that is not in sesaled containers not intended for opening. Further they would have to be labeled as such.

A cabin steward will NEVER provide ice that is not potable (drinkable) in ice buckets or as loose cubes for any purpose. To suggest otherwise is simply wrong and a disservice to readers who may now be under a false impression.

I know on some cruise lines you can order ice from room service. Can you do that on celebrity? Thinking for one of our beach days to keep water cold.

We always ask the room steward for the ice. He gets use to it for the rest of the cruise.

WRONG.... ice in ice buckets is often used in drinks and is never sea water. Not even a remote chance

The cost to freeze sea water in more than that to freeze regular water as the temperature must be significantly lower for salt water to freeze.

Running salt water through refrigeration systems would also cause a lot more corrosion and damage which would require more upkeep than if using fresh water.
