New Yorker article on cruise ship dining

The New Yorker does a food issue every November and this year they include a piece on the state of cruise ship cuisine : http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/11/03/floating-feasts

 

It's set on the Oasis but of course covers more general topics as well. He does start out snarky but the behind the scenes detail is interesting.

That was really interesting.

I thought the part about the hand sanitizer, Purell, not being just the ordinary one, but a special formula especially for cruise ships, hospitals etc. a very interesting bit of info. Next time a hand sanitizer thread gets going, and one will, this would be something to add to the discussion. :)
