Cruised to Aruba, Curaçao and Grand Turk in May of this year, THE WIND WAS AWFUL!! ( except Grand Turk) Will be cruising this itinerary again in August, my question is, is the wind gust a problem all the time OR was it just crazy windy that week, OR is it that windy all the time?? 20-25 are more wind gust....honestly it felt like you were in a wind tunnel... Thanks in advance..

The Caribbean in general can be windier outside of the summer months (especially in winter months), and Aruba especially can be windier due to the semi-arid climate not present in much of the Caribbean. Aruba gets a nearly constant trade wind off of the Atlantic Ocean. But of course weather can very unpredictable anywhere in the world.

ALL islands have wind! There is NOTHING to stop it, or disrupt it...the sea is flat, as far as wind goes. If there is some sort of frontal system coming, the wind can be fierce.

FIERCE is the key word here, and yes ISLANDS DO HAVE WIND!!! But in the 20+ cruises I've been on I have NEVER EXPERIENCED wind like I did in May...ARUBA, GRAND TURK n CURACAO, and hope never to again..my DH and I are going again, on the same itinerary, in August, and praying for calmer winds..[emoji267][emoji100][emoji100]

We always go in the Jan/Feb time frame and it is always very WINDY.

Love going there BUT it is windy!!!!

It's especially bad when you first walk off the ship to the terminal area.
