Do you have any suggestions for a memorable excursion in Barbados? My Cruise Crew has been there many times, and we have not been impressed with the island. I'm thinking that we just haven't been to the right place or have had the right experience otherwise why would Barbados continue to be a popular cruise stop? Please enlighten us! PS We will be cruising on Royal Caribbean, Legend of the Seas, departing 02/16/15

We did an all day catamaran trip with Calabaza last January and it was the highlight of our cruise! Swam with sea turtles, snorkeled in two locations, enjoyed a delicious homemade lunch and a beautiful catamaran with only 12 people. We are still taking about it almost two years later. I think we paid $110 per person.

I love a catamaran sail, that is a great way to spend the day (did that from Tortola). On Barbados my mother and I really enjoyed our excursion seeing Harrison's Cave. It depends on what interests you. Caves, history, shopping, beach time? Have a look at the Barbados Ports of Call forum here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=124. :)

Our favorite tour on Barabados was a photography tour led by Ronnie Carrington.

We went all over the island. Saw mushroom rock

Saw chattel houses

had rum punch at a rum punch bar and learned the recipe

Mr. Carrington knows nearly everyone on Barbados including the Prime Minister, whom he has photographed. He has a tremendous knowledge of the island and his insights are fantastic. We got a lot of great photos and really had a wonderful day with him. I highly recommend this tour.
