ok, I give

What is a Green Thunder??

Water slide....replaces the blue twisty thing thats aft. I believe you start out standing up, platform drops, you drop straight down, then hit the green twists.

I'm too lazy to post pics, but someone probably will.

Jimbo, I was just answering where Red Frog was going . :)

bar1068, JH confirmed today that the Alchemy Bar would be outside the dining room on Deck 2, which makes all but certain that it's going in Florentine's.

That is where they did the martini tasting before. JH said that's where it's going.

With all the changes on Lido, where do you suggest a 'just after muster' meet 'n greet? Used to do it forward pool, starboard bar.

Cruising on the second cruise out of dry dock. Hope everything will be in place by then.

And, oh, please install flat screen in my cabin!

Ahh...gotcha...I missed JH's stuff on FB today. We were on the Pride last month, wandering around the ship, we were guessing where things would go..a couple like Guys and Blue Iguana, and even Red Frog Pub seemed like "no brainers" where they'd go, but Alchemy seemed like it could go a few places, the Florentine Lounge area being one. Currently that bar gets a little jammed up during MDR dining times as people head into the DR. Maybe they'lL open it up or something....either way, love the addition of the Alchemy bar.

On the Pride's Oct 5 cruise. We had workers actively working while we sailed. It appeared they were adding reinforcing in different locations and removing the kiddie pool. We were told the video board on the lido deck is being placed near where the stage is currently located and the size of the stage is being reduced and the size if the video board is smaller than the other ships. I love watching football on deck.

I know our dining room staff said they were staying on and working during the retrofit. Not sure how it exactly works though

I would think the dining staff would need to serve meals for the contractors etc. I am not sure what the ent staff does during this time. Maybe a break in their contracts or they are moved to another ship?

Pride is getting the Playlist Productions and Hasbro. I believe this eliminates the orchestra, and several of the dancers/singers. My guess, a whole new group will be coming on and the contract for the others is over. As for the rest of the entertainment staff - haven't a clue.

I was looking at Cruise Line Rooms Dot Com the other day. It looks like they already started installing the flat screens. Many of the cabins in these pics had them already. :):):)

When we were on ship last week ( Sensation )was taking to some of the crew. Thet can take that couple of weeks off but with a doc in pay, put in for early vacation. One of the kids we knew from the Legend said that she would quit before she could do another dry dock.

It is very hard for the dinning staff because they are cooking for staff ,crew & contractors. MD said he would be very busy but would try to get some fishing in. A lot of them fish & can cook there catch on ship.

Talked to a Taxi driver in Freeport & she said they are kept very busy ( rides to town & the Casino.

No water most of the time ( on one hr. a day ) No AC. so a lot of them camp on deck. If they are married there is a real problem with the water WHO GETS THE SHOWER FIRST.

We learned a lot from just talking & asking questions. Sensation is going in sometime in Feb. & a lot of them are scrambling to get out of it.

That is about all I can think of right now. Oh yes on the Legend they put in new casino machines & the crew got to play them for a couple of hours.

Just curious..........what happens to the crew while the ship is in drydock? Are they just disbanded.........will all the same crew return when the ship is updated?

We are on the January 25th sailing - can't wait!

We just got off the ship on Sunday. Most of the crew we interacted with were just coming on board and will be staying on the ship during dry dock. The dining room staff will be serving the contractors. Some will be doing administrative duties, cleaning, etc. Most of the entertainment staff were moving over to a new ship or going home for vacation. They said the ac will be off for most of the day and there will be very limited plumbing available.

This is a pretty unusual condition in dry dock, and I would suspect it is caused by the "Triumph" upgrades to the cabling in the engine room, and possibly the installation of the new "backup generator", if that is actually happening.

A lot of housekeeping staff will need to continue servicing the cabins that the contractors use. The galley and wait staff are needed to feed the contractors, since the crew galley/mess will be operating as usual at full capacity. Those who are not doing their normal duties will be used to prep areas for the contractors (removing furniture), cleaning up after the contractors, and as fire watch in various areas including the engine room wherever the shipyard is doing cutting/welding, and there could be a fire hazard.

Is anyone here sailing the week of Nov 9th (1st cruise out of dry dock)? If so, would you be willing to please post Fun Times when you get home?

I am on the Nov 23rd sailing and always save mine but I would LOVE to see them beforehand. I am a planner :)

Does anyone know exactly where the Lido stage is located? Is it between the 2 pools, by the bar, or is it over by the Lido buffet dining?

My room appears to be directly below the area between the two pools and I am trying to figure out if that means the screen is right above it.

During the future cruise seminar last week on the Elation, the cruise specialist said essentially the same thing - limited water and a/c... which apparently was why she said she went to Vegas while the ship was in drydock earlier this month.

The stage was located by the Lido burger grilles.

One of our waiters in July said he was staying in Va during the dry dock. But will be back after the upgrades. No air on the ship during dry dock and Freeport is hot.
