2015 Identity Captain, Hotel Director, Concierge, etc.

Sure would like to hear about staff on the Dawn, we sail in 28 days!😀

There was a thread in the past few days review of the Dawn to Bermuda maybe 10/23.. In that thread officers etc were listed. I can tell you Patrick is the concierge.

We are on the Dawn now, 14 day repo cruise from Boston to New Orleans. This is our first cruise longer than 8 days and we are loving it.

I'm not trying to undermine the efforts made here - but I do not really understand the importance of the information.

 

Does service or the overall cruise experience vary based on who holds these positions? How would one cruise be different with a different Executive Staff?

 

I can understand if you had a crap Concierge or something, but I don't really see the need to know the rest.

 

Can someone shed some light on this?

No disrespect to others, but I agree with you. For example, my husband and I have been on the NCL Star 4 times in the last 3 years and we have met 3 different ship Captains, two different Concierges and 4 different Cruise Directors. Things change so often in the cruise staff that I think it would be impossible to maintain an accurate list unless you were an employee of NCL. If you have special needs, I have found if you call ahead they are very good at discussing and noting diet restrictions, food and other allergies, etc. They might even be able to help with crew names if near departure.

Good reply and we agree BUT...............with so many ships the info is getting less and less relevant I regret. There will be moves emergencies and the fact is the crew are being stretched. Check out the turnover of Hotel Directors this year alone. That said I completely agree why go to a thread you are not interested and comment - strange waste of time!:confused:

Do you know the time frame of Adrian's vacation? I have had David (if it's the same David that was on Epic last year?) and he was terrific!

David is wonderful. He said he will be on Escape for two months when Adrian goes on vacation.

Anyone just off the Getaway, or going on the Getaway in the next few weeks? I'll be on Dec. 13th and would love to know who is on the ship. Dailies would be nice too! Thanks in advance!!!

Concierge Desk told us, that Karin would be the Concierge on the Sun, but I'll sure ask her if she'll be on the Spirit when you are sailing.

Karin is a german lady. I think she may be a sort of relief concierge who goes to ships for a couple of months when the regular concierge is on leave then packs her stuff and off to another ship. They have to be good to be able to do that, build relationships with crew members quickly, and make it seem like they were there forever when it may have been a few hours. She arrived at the Spirit the same day we did and if she hadn't mentioned that to us when she got slightly lost showing us to our room we wouldn't have known. She laughed when I said I had been on the ship 6 times before and I think we are going the wrong way, she said she would call me if she got lost again.

Karin was our concierge on the Spirit in April. She is by far the best concierge we have had the pleasure of meeting. She is very hard working and provides her guests with heartfelt care. She was very visible throughout the ship everyday She went above and beyond the call of duty several times supporting our unexpected special needs and circumstances during our two week cruise.

We are sailing on the Jewel in March and would be honored to have her as our concierge.

Karin is a SUPERB Concierge. She was on the Spirit out of Barcelona in February 2015. She made my wife's birthday a special event by arranging a private dinner with the Hotel Director in the LeBistro. She also won converts to NCL by the way she treated our friends from Scotland.

I heard that Dan Dan is now the CD on the Breakaway and Silas is the CD on the Gem. Is this true? Any idea who assistant CD is on both ships?
