  1. Well, we had a ‘sea day’ so everyone is on their phones catching up. Lots of sun burned bodies walking around Coco Cay today.
  2. No way. 😜😳 The only thing I do at 4 am is fluff my pillow then go back to sleep.😎
  3. We’re parked on the 2nd floor at Terminal 5. Harmony was at terminal 1 and left after we did but I noted there looked like plenty of spaces in the garage when we sailed past last Sunday.
  4. 3am for pizza. Open 24 hours for “coffee station” only per today’s Cruise Compass on Mariner.
  5. Had an omelette just this morning on Mariner. Delicious. Johnny Rockets not open for breakfast. Open every day for lunch only from noon to five. Price per person upped to $14.99 for food and $5 for shakes but we paid up because the burgers and chocolate malteds are so darned good. Second time this week.
  6. On Mariner now. Capt said Thursday 5 passenger cases. Last night he said a few more passenger cases so covid is not running rampant out of several thousand passengers. Altered stage show last night was still good. Regular stage show had 3 key performers out sick so a plan B was cobbled together. Better than nothing.
  7. According to The Chief Mr Chang, the mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs are NOT instant. I think that’s why the mashed potatoes are so good— they taste like real buttery potatoes. I’ve had them every day this week. Yum!
  8. I tried the corned beef hash this morning after I saw this post and have to wholeheartedly agree. Definitely some of the best. Very flavorful and ‘meaty’ tasting.
  9. Same here. We had full refunds a week after several of our cruises were cancelled. Most recent was Escape in January. Had our refund the next week.
  10. Yep-all of the above. I love curry but it has to be mild. We also like Johnny Rockets for lunch—fab burgers and malteds although the prices are now $14.99 for food and $5 for shakes and malteds. It’s the one specialty restaurant we pay extra for.
  11. Fave: Mashed potatoes are awesome! Least fave: curries are way too spicy! We are currently on Mariner. MDR food is fab. Windjammer food is pretty good. We don’t do specialty restaurants-waste of money.
  12. We parked in terminal 5 last Sunday June 5. We’ll return on Mariner June 13. Pay as you leave for us.
  13. Try Hotel Collannade or hotel St Michel in Coral Gables. You can shoot straight up SW 8th St from there to the airport.
  14. I have a wonderful cruise consultant at Princess. I wish I could give you her name but I think it’s against CC rules.
  15. Charter cruises are never listed on the cruise line websites. The chartering company collects the money and does all the paperwork. They basically ‘rent’ the ship and crew.
  16. If any one is worried about getting sick, perhaps it’s too soon for you to be cruising. All I’m saying is people are going about their normal lives on board and no one seems to care about covid or noro. The pool was packed yesterday for the belly flop contest. Tonight is lobster night in the MDR. Normal pre covid attitudes . Finally!
  17. Apparently most people on board don’t think so. Except for the crew, life is back to normal. Haven’t heard of anyone sick and we still have 4 days to go.
  18. On Mariner right now in Caribbean. No masks. Seen maybe 10 people total all week onboard wearing masks out of total 2000 plus pax. Feel sorry for crew having to wear those darned things. No social distancing either but lots of reminders to “washy washy” when going in to eat in any of the restaurants. Also full elevators but no one seems to care. Life is back to normal.
  19. Currently on Mariner in San Juan. Formal night two nights ago- lots of folks dressed to the nines. A lot of people having formal portraits taken. Saw more tuxes and gowns than anything else although one or two in MDR in shorts. Whatever floats their boat.
  20. We are on Mariner right now. Even though there are signs to social distance everywhere, there is no social distancing. No one except a few here and there and crew wear masks. Elevators packed. Dining rooms and restaurants full. Bars, lounges full. Full ship and crew. No one mentions covid or norovirus-haven’t heard of any cases. In other words, life is normal. Excellent food, lots of activities, beautiful weather. Life is sweet. If you are worried about virus, maybe it’s too soon for you to cruise.
  21. Yes, it’s possible but getting luggage onto the trolley will be a task and the trolley only stops at the terminals closest to the entrance of Dodge Island. It would be impossible to walk to the new Royal Caribbean or NCL terminals.
  22. It may be too late already to book a hotel for this year but the Intercontinental is right at Bayfront Park where fireworks are. If you decide to go out that night, best to wear a bullet proof vest. Same with any hotel on Miami Beach.
  23. Funny-we’re on Mariner right now at table 444 pm deck 4. Waiting for dessert to be served (tiramisu!!!). Different ship, same table number. Food is excellent!!
  24. We boarded at Port Canaveral on Sunday. No one checked boarding times. All they wanted to see were our test results and shot cards. They did scan our boarding passes at the counter with our passports but that was it.
  25. We’re on Mariner right now in a large balcony cabin as Platinums- there were robes in our closet when we boarded.
