  1. Check your CN certs on the website. I don't believe they expire anymore. Mine show an expiration date of 2099.
  2. The sushi restaurant and Food Republic are the only 2 places I have ever been told I could not take food out with me, for the exact same reason you were told.
  3. I have always left my dishes from the buffet or room service in my cabin, and they were cleared out every day. I leave them stacked neatly in the same place, usually at the end of the desk. If it hadn't happened automatically, I would have mentioned to my room steward the first time they were left and asked them to be removed every day.
  4. You don't have to cancel 10 reservations. Once you get on board, decide which night you would like to go to Teppanyaki, go to the venue where they are making dining changes and change that one night from Cagney's to Teppanyaki.
  5. I agree, sounds like a one-off situation to me. Been on multiple cruises since the pandemic and never seen anything like that.
  6. You might want to check the Ports of Call forum on this board...lots of information on transportation options, especially under the East Coast departures section.
  7. You do lose your promotions with a price adjustment. I just did it a few weeks ago...lost my double Latitudes points but that didn't really matter to me. As far as the OBC from your TA, your price adjustment is causing them to lose commission so I can see why they would lower or remove the promo they gave you. They are getting less so you are getting less.
  8. If you go to any bar, they will be happy to give you a glass of ice (or two). I also keep fruit, a box of cereal, possibly cookies, in my cabin, along with a yogurt and milk in my fridge, all obtained at breakfast.
  9. I was surprised at how reasonable airfare was also when I looked at this. My only problem is I might want to go to London longer than the 2 day deviation (thinking of arriving on Monday) so it won't work for me. I will be on the Viva soon so will talk to the CruiseNext desk and probably book then.
  10. Meet and Greets are usually reserved for 25 or more guests and with the backing of Cruise Critic. Are you looking for a special venue to use, or for the cruiseline to provide free snacks/beverages? There is nothing stopping you from putting together your own meet up. We have done it several times at both sailaway and sea days, all without the backing of NCL because we were a smaller group and then had an 'official' Meet and Greet for a larger group (up to 300 on one sailing) from our Roll Call. Maybe that is what the issue is and why they haven't replied.
  11. On my sailing it was Hudson's on embarkation day and the sea days. I never saw the Commodore Room open for lunch.
  12. I was wondering the same thing. Really no way to upgrade online after final payment except via the bidding process. They can't even do it on chat...you have to call and talk to a CSR. Just did it last week and went from an inside to a balcony for less than my upgrade bid (which I then cancelled). 35 days to go!
  13. Always love your reviews. Looking forward to this one as Bermuda is on my radar for next year. Sailing out of NYC is amazing...hope you have great weather!
  14. Have you been over to the Roatan Ports of Call board? There should be information there for what you are looking for. Or start a post with this question and you might get replies from people who have been there on various cruise lines. .
  15. NCL has around 21 MDR menus that they rotate throughout the fleet. There is no way to tell which of those menus you will get on your sailing. It depends on where the ship is sailing from, the dates, the Head Chef on board and the ability to provision. You can do a google search and find most of the menus online but as far as what will be on your sailing, your guess is as good as mine.
  16. That's what I do also. One way to use up OBC and I don't drink more than one or two a cruise.
  17. I was in Dubai in May (land vacation, not cruise) and there are some great tours via Viator. Easy to get to using Careem (their version of Uber). But as recommended above, try your roll call and maybe someone is putting together a group.
  18. If you booked thru a travel agent, they will get the official notifications. You need to have them make the changes for you and get the credits...that is what you are using them for.
  19. I am Sapphire and travel solo often. I always find another Platinum or higher solo and invite them to share my Platinum dinners with me and they return the favor. Sometimes it is the same person at each dinner and sometimes I mix it up. Go to the Solo meet up the first night and you are certain to find someone to share. I also book my reservations before boarding as they can always be changed once on the ship.
  20. I think people get confused because RCL's deposits are non-refundable unless you pay a higher premium for the cruise overall (and I mean the deposit only, such as $250-$500 down to book the cruise). They also have Black Friday sales and price their drink packages dynamically, so they discount them on Black Friday and at other times. Taking the Free at Sea package doesn't make a difference in whether a cruise is refundable or not. As mentioned above, it's best to call NCL if you have questions on a specific sailing and timing of deposits and final payment.
  21. They won't make him move to a solo cabin. As long as he has paid for 2 people, he can keep the balcony. Sometimes that is even less than a studio, depending on the cruise. Best bet is to ask NCL what the outcome would be should a flare up occur.
  22. This is what I do. I have a Capital One 360 checking account, opened online and completely fee free. I load up my debit card with cash before I leave for Europe (or any other foreign country I visit) and use it to pull out foreign currency from an ATM once I arrive. I might get 50 euros for about 10 days and typically bring some home (seed money for next time). Have used this card in taxis, shuttles, the Tube (tap in and tap out) and anywhere else I need to buy something. I find it easier not to overspend this way as I always know what my balance is and I don't have to worry about having the correct currency for different countries (such as in Scandinavian countries). For hotels or on a ship I use a credit card but otherwise, it is this card and I love coming home with very minimal debt.
  23. Prima now has a rotating menu other than in the Haven.
  24. That's exactly what I said "won't be available until Spring 2024". It was the other poster that stated she played it on the 9/10 Escape and I was wondering how that was possible. She gave an explanation so it was possibly a prototype. Or something totally different. Under the Entertainment for my upcoming Viva cruise, Press Your Luck (another game show) has no charge but Deal or No Deal states that cards can be purchased for a fee.
