  1. It's happened to us a couple times and we only do 2-3 cruises per year
  2. Hardly a "disaster" The Titanic was a disaster. The Costa Concordia was a disaster. The Andria Doria was a disaster. Anthem got caught going around a storm that ended up a lot bigger than was initially forecast. No one died and the ship made it through the storm exactly how it was designed to.
  3. It's not often an RC cruise has a US port stop after a foreign port stop. But when they do, this happens 100% of the time by law and border patrol.
  4. Cruise ships are designed to handle conditions that they would never ever see on a revenue sailing. Though that doesn't mean it won't be messy on board should a revenue sailing see rough conditions. It just means the ship itself would be in no danger.
  5. Not anymore. The only cruises out of the US that require an unvaxxed test result are ones that have port stops in Roatan, Labadee or one of the few that stop in Colombia.
  6. Do you not refinance your mortgage to take advantage of a lower rate? Do you turn down any raises at work because that's not the salary you agreed to when hired? Do you refuse to pay sale prices on items at the grocery store?
  7. The only people who get free drinks are suite occupants. Those not in a suite but who have status that lets them in the lounge would use their vouchers. Now, that doesn't mean that's what will happen (especially if you tip well), but that's what is supposed to happen.
  8. There's little evidence of that in the Omicron era, especially for those under 65.
  9. There were hardly any outbreaks at the peak of omicron. There certainly won't be now.
  10. All the posts on this topic and it's a 6 year old thread that gets bumped?
  11. Waves up to 10 feet would barely be noticed by most passengers
  12. If you've arranged a wheelchair through special needs, they would be a good group to ask where to meet the wheelchair
  13. I think the main motivation is people not paying attention to what they're doing and wasting Guest Services time. And this is their solution, which is weak and won't stop people from going to Guest Services because they'll not look at their receipt and/or throw it away anyway.
  14. But then you have to figure out if your voucher was actually used vs. being charged for something. That was the great thing about vouchers, you knew a voucher was used because you didn't sign anything. Plus you could always look in the app to know how many vouchers you used.
  15. This is dumb. I have no idea how signing a check does anything to solve the issues they claim it's solving.
  16. Exactly. The driver for nearly every decision (and rightfully so) is financial.
  17. Kind of a clickbait article. All they did was stop selling full size liquor bottles to the cabin. That certainly doesn't do anything to limit alcohol consumption.
