  1. Total time off the ship can vary. I've had to wait as long as three hours. Generally, about 1 hour. and yes, you must get off the ship. You can stay in the terminal. They usually have excursions available if you don't want to wait. They will also give you a transfer ticket should you chose to leave the ship and go out and about in Fort Lauderdale. Quite a few restaurants and a Walgreens close to the terminal.
  2. Ships have been sailing almost at capacity in the Caribbean. Hopefully, 2 months would be plenty of time to get better. Good luck with your surgery.
  3. I'm sorry my palette is not up to yours. Sometimes after being on the ship for a while the food is so rich I just crave a "such things." If you've never had it on board ship then you really do need to try it. If you don't like you can always get something else. Happy sailing.
  4. I don't know if this is true but I've heard that they are somehow able to determine your temperature when you are in the terminal. This happened to me when I was in Europe in October while on an Oceania cruise.
  5. If you're entitled to get a mini bar setup in your cabin will it be done after getting to international waters?
  6. Any chance that you could save this file in a PDF format?
  7. I would go ahead and do the OV if it was only 65 per person.
  8. I just completed the on line app. I skipped through most of the input until it asked for the investment company information. It then brought me to the logon for my WF account and I logged in via the WF app which connected with the Plaid account. I was able to limit the information on my WF account to the investment only information. One thing that I could not do was requesting stockholder credit for cruises which begin after July 31, 2024. Not sure if this is because they are no longer going to give s/h credit or if they don't want to approve this early in the event you sell your stock between now and then. I really wish Princess had given us a bit more information as to how this works and what if any privacy concerns that may come up. Not sure what the problem was with the old way it was done.
  9. I thought it was only on two ships - Discovery and Enchanted.
  10. If you have either of the two packages (plus and premium) you can order drinks in your room. Just a thought.
  11. You can go to casino and charge to your room. Then no ATM fees. Up to 1,000 a day.
  12. I just returned home from an Oceania cruise from Monte Carlo to Venice. I contracted covid and was quarantined for 5 days. I received the Paxlovid and was visited in my cabin at least two times a day by a nurse who took my blood pressure and temperature and made sure everything was ok. They really took care of me. My total bill for testing, visit and medicine was &1850 which I thought was very reasonable. If I were to contract Covid again I would definitely choose to do it on a ship. The hotel management called several times during my quarantine, they cancelled all my excursions for me, and I could order food from any of their venues.
  13. My cruise this past February I was upgraded to an obstructed view balcony on Emeral Deck from an interior on Lido. I was on a B2B2B and it was the second part and didn't get notified until on the ship the week before. View was not really obstructed as it was in between the lifeboats.
  14. I'm a Christian and still enjoy alcoholic drinks. I didn't realize I couldn't have both.
  15. this thread needs to be turned off.
  16. I guess I wasn't clear enough in my message. If you don't have the package and you buy a drink you also must pay the tip in addition to the cost of the drink. Sorry.
  17. Original date of cruise was February 2. Now January 29. According to e-mail it was due to "deployment changes." Not really sure what that means. I don't even know what the new itinerary is and really don't care what it is since I'm primarily on board for the ship experience. I'm from Minnesota and just want the sun and warmth.
  18. Received an e-mail from Princess cancelling our February 2025 7-day cruise out of Galveston. This is the first full suite we have ever booked. Good news is that they rebooked us for a February 11 day cruise out of Galveston on the same ship (the Regal) AT NO EXTRA COST. So, I had really gotten a great deal on the 7-day cruise and had purchased the plus package. I decided to reserve a full suite as a treat for my husband and two adult children. So, we have an 11-day cruise with plus in a full suite for 4 people at &7,000. Still have to purchase air fare but I'm okay with that.
  19. Don't forget the specialty coffees and bottled water. Also the 15 a day doesn't include the 3.20 tip added to each drink. You will each get one Wi-Fi. It doesn't make sense for a lot of people but I enjoy the freedom of not having to worry about my coffee and drink intake.
  20. I will be going on my first O cruise in a week so forgive me if this has already been addressed. We are spending a few days in France prior to embarkation and would like to bring a couple of bottles of wine on board. Is this permitted? On Viking River Cruise we could bring as many bottles as we wanted.
  21. We have canceled the day before and had no problems receiving money back on our account.
  22. Personally I would choose the LAX departure rather than Fort Lauderdale. Getting from the boat to airport is not always easy at LAX while the Fort Lauderdale departure is easy.
