  1. Not sure if it's just club class, but a waiter cut up the food for a elderly person (I know, we're all elderly). Her daughter was at the table and asked waiter to do it.
  2. While on the Sky last month, I noticed the same thing and I guess it may be because there are no other seats close buy to listen to entertainment in the Piazza. Sky was at max passenger count for the entire month of February so a lot of people looking for seats.
  3. Just returned last week from a cruise in Fort Lauderdale. Cab ride from ship to airport was $16 (20 with tip).
  4. I am elite and was on the Sky for the month of February. The elite line at guest services was to the far right and even though I went to guest services numerous times during the cruise, I never had to wait more than a few minutes.
  5. Just got off the Sky yesterday and took cab to airport. Used EZ Air. Also, there was no notification in the stateroom. I went on Wednesday to see if it was still offered and guest services said it should have been left in the cabin on Tuesday. They still allowed me to sign up. Not sure if because if being elite had anything to do with it. They were very nice about it.
  6. I just received upgrade to E420 from an interior room (Lido deck). The deck plan shows the balcony is partially angled and on Emerald deck. Category is BW balcony obstructed view. I bid minimum bid on two categories - one w/o balcony obstructed view and one with balcony obstructed view. I'm very happy with this as it looks like it may not be as obstructed as others on that deck. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of any obstructed balcony views on Emerald deck? Thanks for your help.
  7. I'm on the Sky beginning February 4th for four weeks. I also am in same balcony cabin for first three weeks and the last week in a guaranteed interior (IC) cabin and have bid to upgrade. Still haven't heard yet about bidding results and have not yet received a cabin assignment. Hoping my bid gets accepted or maybe a free upgrade. How many people are on your cruise. Looks like next couple of sailings are full. Have fun.
  8. If the cruise is port intensive you may want to reconsider buying the package. Also, depending on the time of year they may not be spending much time on the balcony. Another thing to consider is booking the obstructed balcony and then putting in a bid for the upgrade.
  9. how do you know if your bid is still pending? I bid a few months ago for an upgrade on cruise departing Feb 25.

  11. Depending on which ship they are on, most ships have a sit-down restaurant called Alfredos. It wasn't until my third cruise that I realized there is no charge. Menus vary but primarily Italian pizzeria type menu. Pizza, calzones. etc. Here is a list of other possible restaurants venues that are on many Princess ships. I'm sure I missed other places on board. Below is a pdf file which explains all or most of the dining options on all princess ships . The first column lists which ships have which restaurants. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/food-and-dining/dining-options.pdf I enjoy the International cafe where you can get specialty coffee and tea along with deli type food. If you ask nicely, they will usually have fresh baked cookies in the back. I also like Swirls Ice Cream on the Lido deck. I hope they enjoy their cruise as much as I have enjoyed mine..
  12. I would try and bid on a bigger cabin. Possibly a sky suite?
  13. We are sailing in Europe on the former Ocean Prince. Now called Sirena. Really looking forward to the smaller ship. We sail the entire month of February on the Sky which is almost 6 times as large as Sirena. First time on Oceania and testing the waters.
  14. Take a cab from ship to Panera (only about a 1/2 mile from port.) Have it wait and get it to go. Buy your coffee after you get through security.
  15. 4 weeks beginning Feb 4th on Sky Princess 2 weeks in September on Serina Oceania from Monte Carlo to Venice (first time on an Oceania cruise line)
  16. Are you given an actual coupon book or is this something you need to download?
  17. 2022 - Three weeks - Regal - Caribbean Cruises. We had a wonderful time and have four weeks booked on the Sky in February in the Caribbean. Have to get out of this cold Minnesota weather. 12 inches of snow in past two weeks. My motto is "There is no bad cruise." I've been checking out cruise prices for 2024 - prices have really increased.
  18. As far as room and board go - my last room steward said that they have four crew members in one cabin. I didn't see it so I can only go with his statement.
  19. Usually, you must pay for two people even if flying solo. Sometimes Princess will allow you to pay for one person. You may want to contact your travel agent to see if they can locate cruises without the solo supplement. There is also a website - CruisePlum Solo Deals - which you can review to see cruises from Princess and other lines without the supplement. I've went solo once and enjoyed it. I have another scheduled for February. Princess travelers are generally very friendly and inclusive. Have fun cruising.
  20. It costs $12 to get a meal at McDonalds. Eating at a halfway decent sit-down restaurant is at least $25 a person here in Minneapolis and a whole lot more in places like New York City, LA or Miami. $40 for ribeye is a bargain and since we normally only eat in a specialty restaurant once a week this doesn't really affect our vacation dollars. We have so much OBC to use that we actually never out of pocket. To each thir own.
  21. I tried making a booking but screen freezes up. Very frustrating.
