  1. On a side note, several respondents to this post have indicated they sustained the same type of injury as OP. Curious how this sort of injury is sustained so that I can make every effort to avoid. Sounds dreadful...not to mention extremely disruptive to the normal routine.
  2. Just curious, what steps should one take in the off chance they sustain an injury such as OP's? Besides insurance, I mean. Genuinely curious and not meaning to be confrontational. @calicakes, I'm so sorry about your injury. My hope is that once you fully recover, you plan for this bucket list cruise once again. It will be even sweeter. As for the elite perks, it's frustrating but stick with it and you will get there. Have to agree with another who alluded to the fact that the allure of becoming Elite is greater than the actual benefits. The most important factor here is that you make a speedy recovery and recoup as much of your cruise cost as you can. Take care!
  3. I never thought I'd consider an ocean view category but these rooms seem very spacious and a nice alternative if you don't want to go for the IV's and above.
  4. We just booked cabin 9111 for a 10 night cruise in November. In light of recent threads regarding banging and popping noises (non-anchor related) I wanted to ask if you heard any such sounds during your cruise.
  5. Yes, a cover up is fine. You’ll see lots of them in the OVC. Shorts/swim trunks and t-shirt for men are fine too.
  6. You can get fruit and assorted pastry (not sure if it’s on the all day menu) in the morning which is the only thing I would recommend bc any other hot items never seem to arrive hot.
  7. We enjoyed the glass blowing at the lawn club. You can sign up to make a piece or you can just watch. The artisans are very talented and help you create a beautiful souvenir of your cruise.
  8. Maybe you could request one ahead of the meal?
  9. Seashore, Seaside, Meraviglia. Haven’t ventured on any MSC ships that embark outside the US….maybe someday.
  10. You can book a reservation but you don’t have to. I think some people make reservations because they want to ensure a certain dining room. The menus are the same except for a very small section that is exclusive to just that dining room. If you have a long excursion day I recommend you head to the dining room with the shortest line. edit to say on our sailing the shortest line was usually in the Cypress dining room.
  11. There is no set time/table on e class. You pick your restaurant and your time. This allows you some flexibility and gives you a taste of all 4 dining rooms (if you choose). You can make a reservation for any of the dining rooms in the app but there may still be a brief wait. We loved Ascent! I hope you enjoy your cruise.
  12. What is the cost of this service? Please report on how you like this process when you have a moment. I really enjoyed your live review. It has made me even more excited to board her in a few months. So sorry your final sea day’s weather didn’t cooperate but I’m sure you found great ways to pass the time! Safe travels home!
  13. We have enjoyed Tuscan Grill every time. They have a pretty extensive menu and you can order half portions of any of the dishes (as many as you want). We did this and created our own version of a tasting menu. Worth a visit at least once IMO. I agree with @NMTraveller regarding Murano…
  14. I haven’t sailed Apex yet but we enjoyed Eden on Ascent. But if I could only pick one it would be Roof Top Garden Grill. We really liked the menu and the food and service were outstanding.
  15. Which lines were #1 and #2 and if Celebrity offers welcome drinks and gift baskets, then what are the others offering?
  16. Me too! I’ve always said I’d rather be the older folks in a younger crowd that the younger folks in an older crowd.
  17. The whole debate about Celebrity’s marketing direction, be it compared to Royal 2.0 or Heaven forbid, Carnival 😳, is absolutely fascinating to me. With so many other lines to choose from, why not just move on to something more appealing? It’s a rhetorical question… I’ve certainly had my gripes with Celebrity but I still enjoy the lion’s share of the product. But then again, both Carnival and Royal have had a place in our cruising history that served to generate fond memories for our family. At the end of the day, that’s all I really care about.
  18. It’s just so hard to nail down a definitive cause because in all the scenarios you’ve described you and DH had to have encountered a variety of possible exposure sites. I’m reminded from countless clinical experiments over the years that correlation does not equal causation. Not very helpful in your situation, I know. I’m so sorry DH is having a rough time. Prayers for a speedy recovery. 🙏
  19. I wrote page but meant board. So sorry.
  20. It seems lots and lots of people have had questions ☺️. I'll admit, I'm leery but cautiously optimistic that flights arranged by Regent are part of a well oiled machine. Every now and then someone will post about their experience...I've learned a lot from those posts too!
  21. We haven’t used the air portion yet but will do so for our first Regent cruise next year. I read a great deal of helpful info in the post pinned at the top of the page.. including how to deviate when the time comes so that we have a modicum of control over our reservation.
  22. It always stinks when something you’ve been looking forward to is pulled in favor of something less desirable. What was the reason given for the change? I guess I’d have to figure out an alternative (which I’m sure you’ll do) to make the best out of having the good fortune to be somewhere other than the Caribbean…which is also lovely, but oh so been there-done that (for us). I feel like many (most?) European ports require somewhat of a trek to get beyond the industrialized shipyard. I recall at least a 40 minute train ride to Rome from Civi…(never could spell that port.) All that to say, I sympathize. Hope you have a fabulous cruise!
  23. I am not a photographer AT ALL. The filters on my phone and the Slim and Skinny app make up the extent of my camera know-how. I came here looking for guidance on what a novice photographer such as myself can get by with while in Alaska. Will the most recent iPhone camera give me decent pics? I am currently using an iPhone 8 Plus. State of the art 8 years ago…opinions and suggestions are much appreciated.
