  1. I have two upcoming cruises with a casino discount codes and both have received a $100 shareholder OBC. They are not "comped" cruises, but I am definitely using casino discount codes as they were both booked through club royale. i did e-mail my request and proof of ownership to shareholderbenefit@rccl.com.
  2. It may be a refund of the port fees/taxes.
  3. Until recently, if you purchased the Unlimited Dining or a 3 night package the 18% was included as part of the "list" price. I believe that changed this past spring and now even those packages add the 18% onto that "list" price at the time of purchase. There is a place on the bill to add an additional tip on top of what you paid at the time of initial purchase.
  4. I am 30 days out today. I got an e-mail with my cruise documents as an attachment. On page 19 of 20 is a luggage tag. Also, on the web, in my upcoming cruise, you select "view boarding pass" and on that next page with my boarding pass was my luggage tag ready to print out. My contract was also available under the "view more details".
  5. I have actually started to take pictures of the server cards on the tables to insure I get the full name and/or table # correct....
  6. I guess, in my mind, is someone is literally "asking" for a 10 ("please give me a 10") or just reminding you of the importance of the surveys, including the impact of not getting a 10. I have had a couple of cruises where they were almost "begging" to give them 10's (which was really annoying, because they just didn't do it one time, but like five times), and so I put yes. Other times, the staff is more subtle, and so I put no.
  7. But, some big box ones don't participate in royal up... if you want to do that kind of thing.
  8. The other benefit of prime is free drinks from the casino while it is open, and a discount on internet, so that may be a further consideration to "give it a go"...
  9. Was in a hurry to get her service animal some food at the windjammer....
  10. On the app mine opened at 12:04.... I have seen some as long as 12:15...
  11. Interesting question. I am in a JS on an upcoming 10/1 cruise. Gratuities have been pre-paid in full. I have made a bid in royal up for Grand Suite. If I "win" one of these a few days before boarding, I have to pay the difference in the gratuity. I was wondering whether the amount will be the $17.50, which is the current prepaid amount for a full suite (since I pre-paid the initial amount) or will it be the $18.50, since I hadn't paid the "full suite" gratuity in full by the price increase deadline. $1.00/day won't make a difference, but just thought it was an interesting situation....
  12. Its actually pretty smart. You figure an interior room runs maybe $500/wk, probably less with the single supplement discount. Plus, he gets additional discounts/points/free cruises he earns. He gets all meals prepared and a clean room everyday. So, it costs him less than $2,500 a month. I thought I read somewhere he has a condo/apt near the port so can get off the ship to do his laundry, etc.. He is clearly pinacle, so gets 6 free drinks and internet a day. If that's not enough, you figure even playing only 1 hour a week in the casino, he is probably at least "prime" for club royale so free drinks while in the casino. A good gig if you can make it work....
  13. Black Friday and Cyber Monday tend to be the "big" sales where there may be an actual difference from the regular sales. The last two years that has also been a decent sale in the middle of October. Not sure why, but that's what my "price tracking" spreadsheet showed.
  14. I believed that when a "youth" turns 18, they keep the status that they had "inherited", but must use their own points to attain the next level. So, for example, a 17 year old emerald points on their own, but the parents were Diamond+. Once the youth turned 18, they would maintain Diamond+ status forever, but would only be able to advance to the next status level (pinacle) and have to go all the way from emerald. I had thought that a youth that had pinacle status from the parents would only drop down back to Diamond+ once he turned 18 (the last inheritable level), not all the way back to emerald status.
  15. From April 2, 2019 Royal Caribbean’s mega-ship Oasis of the Seas was involved in an apparent dry dock failure and a crane accident in the port of Freeport, Bahamas on Monday. Oasis of the Seas was in the Grand Bahamas shipyard for one week for scheduled repairs to her azipod propellers ahead of her transatlantic crossing for a dry dock in Europe this summer. Floating dry dock #2 at the Grand Bahama Shipyard is the largest dry dock near the United States and can handle most cruise ships. But Oasis-class ships are too large (According to the Grand Bahamas Shipyard website, floating Dry Dock #2 can accommodate ships up to 985 feet, with a maximum beam of 154 feet and a draught of up to 27 feet. Oasis of the Seas has a length of 1,186 feet, 198 ft. maximum beam and a draught of 30.6 feet.). To be able to repair azipods on Oasis-class ships on this side of the world, the Grand Bahama Shipyard utilizes a system of cofferdams - or watertight enclosures below the water line - that surround the azipods while the rest of the ship is still floating. This procedure was first conducted in 2014 on Allure of the Seas, the subject of this documentary on YouTube. The cofferdam procedure had started Sunday, March 31 and was well underway on Monday morning, April 1 as shared on Facebook by Royal Caribbean chief meteorologist James Van Fleet.
  16. I never noticed, but from the cruise planner for an upcoming cruise on Explorer and Harmony: The following are not included in photo packages: Photos of others in your party not traveling in your stateroom; Group, Wedding, Quinces, Private Studio photography and other special occasion photography; Specialty Dining photography; generic photos of the ship, characters, ports of call, etc.; any special printing or retouching requests.
  17. I always viewed it like a "hold" reservation. Once on board you can change the dates/time and the restaurants of your choosing. I have never had them enforce the "one must be used on day one or two".
  18. Nor do they offer double points for suites. It is basically by the night, whether you stay in an interior room or the Presidential Suite, its one point a night....
  19. I was really hoping for smoking in the casino being next... I think shorts in the dining room has run its course though....
  20. "Royal Caribbean has confirmed to TheStreet that the cruise line has brought Starbucks to Cafe Promenade and other premium coffee locations on all of its ships." https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/royal-caribbean-adds-something-passengers-will-love-to-every-ship/ar-AA106iZc
  21. Here in SC we do same day issue. But, some DMV offices are notoriously busy/slow,. We actually drove to another town/dmv and walked right in and out in getting with a new "Real ID" DL. Unless you get in line at 7:00 (they don't open until 8:30), the wait at the nearest office can be several hours. My thought would be an old passport picture still qualifies as a government issued ID. It never said anything about a non-expired government ID. Of course, if he had the picture when he was 13 and now 22 it probably wouldn't work.
  22. My actual question was do they offer the BOGO 50 once you actually board the cruise (not for a pre cruise planner purchase). I know that once on board they have crew walking around trying to sell dining packages, etc. for vaious discounts. Just wasn't sure about the deluxe beverage package. Some friends are going with us and they can't make up their mind, so trying to convince them that purchasing before is better....
  23. I am going in October. Does anyone know if they were offering the Deluxe Beverage Package at the BOGO 50 price?
  24. I believe the D+ on the Deluxe Beverage Package is 30% when purchased on board. You cannot use the D+ discount through the cruise planner.
  25. I live in Charleston and for some reason they sent mine to Miami for processing.... that's the government for you.
