  1. Thank you for this, it really makes me look forward to my upcoming cruise!
  2. That is a Thanksgiving cruise and based on my past experience they are always booked full so I would assume it's going to be as full as they are allowed. I have read 70-75% capacity in the past but I'm not sure this is an official number. I would also expect more (unvaccinated) children than a typical cruise as Thanksgiving cruises typically have a high percentage of children - at least in my previous experience. I do think there is a cap on how many unvaccinated children there can be, last I read it was 5% of the passengers. As far as numbers of positive cases there is no official numbers being published.
  3. This is one thing I read they are going to bring back and I'm looking forward to it!
  4. Having a negative test is a requirement for sailing. Saying “it’s only because I had COVID a long time ago” isn’t going to change this.
  5. The cucumber sunrise from the alchemy bar. So good!
  6. I did not. But I did see it here: https://www.carnival.com/Legal/covid-19-legal-notices/return-to-service-faqs
  7. I typically pay gratuities in advance, but left them off my next cruise so my OBC can cover those. After that...alcohol. 😃
  8. The protocols will not be released today per John Heald during his facebook live this morning.
  9. For me personally, I want to know if there is any chance my cruise may be cancelled. If it is, I want that final payment money to sit in my bank for the next year rather than Carnival's. That's why I don't want to make the final payment until the announcement. And yes, I do realize things can change again but I would like to at least know what their current plans are.
  10. I'm sorry, that's not something I can personally answer as I did not use a travel agent.
  11. Then why R U writing this review if one of your major points is that Carnival passengers are trashy when you are in a Carnival forum? 😏 I appreciate trip reports and photos, but did this paragraph really need to be a part of your trip report? Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to put on some dirty slippers so I can go to Wal-Mart and buy a bunch of bikinis and some weightGain3000 supplements.
  12. I'm sorry you are in this situation but maybe that's a sign that a cruise is not the right trip for their family at this point?
  13. I have a November cruise and requested that my final payment date be changed. YMMV, but I got about 10 days additional because I said I wanted to know the protocols for November before I gave them any more money.
  14. It feels like way too many people don't even know what HIPAA is.
  15. I agree. I do understand things can change but I have a final payment due very soon for a November sailing and I would like at least an idea of the protocols to help make my decision. I'm planning to reach out an ask for an extension of a week or two.
  16. I definitely have, once I fell asleep at the dive in movie in the rain. Nothing like being rocked to sleep on the ship.
  17. At least in the pre-COVID days, cabins aren’t available until 1:00-1:30.
  18. We always enjoy looking for the ducks on our thanksgiving cruises! Never found them all though.
  19. So I was thisclose to deciding I would make a final payment and get excited about my November cruise. I'm sure there is a chance that conditions improve by November but I don't want to be masked on my vacation. If you are okay with that, I hope you have a brilliant time on your trip and I am envious, but it's not the way I want to vacation. I'm a little sad. I mean, I'm a lot sad.
  20. I guess we are middle of the road people. The first few cruises we all shared a cabin and got FTTF. The first time we got ocean view but always book balcony cabins now. The kids got old enough that one cabin isn't big enough and FTTF is harder to find (and harder to justify the price, especially with two cabins). We don't fly to port so there is that, but with two balcony cabins it's already pricey so we typically don't go for drink packages. Sometimes will have one night of specialty dining. I have purchased photos before because my kids are older and it's about the only time of year they are together and dressed nicely. We do go on excursions, typically only in ports we haven't been to. All that being said, we did book a spring break cruise next year just for funsies and opted to go interior and cheers package, so it will be our first "booze cruise" and I have to admit, I'm looking forward to that!
  21. I've got a cruise coming up in the spring with Cheers and I'm starting to feel like it will be the booziest cruise I've ever taken. 🤣
  22. No, I haven't made the final payment. I'll give a call and see how far they will push it out.
  23. Like most of us, I had a cruise cancelled due to covid and the one I booked in it's place is coming up in November. I got an email reminder today that it's just about time to make a final payment on the cruise I booked that includes the OBC I received from the cancelled cruise. This is the cancellation information I see about this cruise "CANCELLATIONS OR CHANGES NOT ALLOWED FOR BOOKING WITH PREVIOUSLY WAIVED PENALTY" so I feel like I am going to lose everything including OBC if I cancel this cruise but I'm also hesitant about investing in the final payment. I'm wondering if anyone else has navigated a cancellation with this message that pretty sure is telling me there is no option for that. I was just also wondering what other people are doing in my position. We really don't know what things are going to be like come November, things certainly don't look great. I live in a hotspot of covid right now. Just want to cruise. I feel like I'm in this position of cancelling and losing a lot of money or paying and then having to cancel later and losing a lot more. I'm so torn.
