  1. How much were they charging for the Enchanted escape room these days?
  2. I haven't ordered baked Alaska in years because of the reason you described. Just to much sweet marshmallow for me. Something like the kids would prefer.
  3. Although no one on these boards will change their minds, the endless discussions over the years must have had some effect on Princess's view of the subject. Just look at where we are today. If nothing was ever hashed over, things might just be the same as they were in the year1990 with guys wearing suits & ties while the women wore what they pleased, calling it formal. 😄 Except for the few formalists, most people can live with their latest views of the dress code suggestions.
  4. I haven't seen them lately but we've been mostly on Royal class ships for a few years and I don't think they ever offered them.
  5. You'd need a walkie talkie for that size table.
  6. That leaves Cunard, which seems to be a good fit for those in the UK & Scotland. 😉
  7. This whole subject is getting ridiculous. All I know is that Princess is letting people dress in a manner which lets them enjoy the night. Neither in full formal dress or simple casual, even allowing shorts if it pleases them. I can't see it ever going back to what it was years ago, so live with it. I know I will.
  8. That's exactly why we arrive early- eliminates stress.
  9. That sounds OK but why spend $200 for a room when it not absolutely necessary? I suppose I'm just to practical. 😄 I could use that money to go to Sabatini's a few times.
  10. They advertise formal night for people like yourself who enjoy getting dressed up while letting people select their own style of clothing. I can't see why it's so upsetting. Everyone gets to tailor the night as they see fit. It doesn't bother me that some folks wish to go all out for that one night to enjoy themselves, just don't force others to do likewise.
  11. For us, it is a special night. It means special food in a relaxed atmosphere on a cruise ship that we prefer. We don't dress down with T shirts, baseball caps and shorts but save that for a casual evening, following what they now allow on a formal night in the DR. i.e.- dress jeans/Polo for my husband, slacks & dressy to for myself. You should be prompting Princess it serve the same exact meals at the buffet & we would gladly go there to eat.
  12. It isn't that simple since we've built up all our seniority on Princess over the years and changing cruise lines would mean starting at the bottom all over again. We dress according to what Princess allows, and lately it had become very lenient in what's allowed. This is just the cruise line that we prefer and now with their laid back dress suggestions, even more so.
  13. Being in Florida, we drive to the ship in the morning. Depending on the day of week, the traffic can be horrendous at times and all it takes is a small accident to cause a major headache. Why chance it when we can arrive early and avoid most of the congestion? We'd rather stand on line for an hour in the terminal then in traffic leading up to the port.
  14. For years we dressed up on Princess to conform to their dress code and since we no longer travel on other cruise lines, we really enjoy the benefit of being allowed to choose our style of dress on all nights, casual or formal. If dressing formally means that much to you, then perhaps Princess is no longer the right cruise line for you. Why not dress up as often as you wish & not put so much attention of those people who vary from your style of clothing? I believe this was Princess's intent to please everyone.
  15. I may be wrong but something tells me that everyone will probably just arrive early & the line outside the terminal will jammed at around 9 AM. Perhaps this will lead to having an Elite line to enter once again?
  16. I can't wait to see how that decision affects cruises leaving from Ft Lauderdale.
  17. Most people realize that the code theses days is only mentioned in passing to appease those that enjoy dressings up on a cruise ship, although I suspect there are a few people who haven't cruised in years that might be a little set back by how some cruisers intrepid that "formal" header on the patter.
  18. It's always best to not display the name of the liquor store on the bags when going past the check in deck.
  19. Go ahead & bring it. At the very least you can keep up with all the CC comments and be able to add some humorous input of your own. 🤣
  20. Especially when that "extra food" isn't any better (usually worse) than what they serve in the DR.
  21. I know it sounds humorous, but it's true. Unless you're in a full suite with a dining table, where do people actually eat their food? (other than a squashed balcony on a tiny table)
  22. Just get on the ship, try it for a couple of days and if you don't like it simply ask for a cruise card. After a day of using the Medallion you won't think twice about having it. What's not to like? Automatically unlocking you cabin door? Finding you cabin mate on the ship? Ordering food & beverages & having it brought to your table or pool chair?
