  1. When it was free it was the only time it was worth going. I could hardly believe it when they started charging.
  2. Definitely a better option. You would have thought it could only be controlled by the occupants & cabin steward on Princess.
  3. I really don't have a big problem with it at all. I was just stating that they seem to be getting very tolerant about the situation in general. I'm totally happy with the way things are today compared to years ago when people were forced into wearing gowns and suits and ties. I'm certain the Maître D' and guest services will appease you to no end.
  4. I'll have to say that Princess is getting a little too lax with what they're allowing on formal nights. Although it really doesn't bother me as we lean towards the more casual side of things but lately, with people wearing shorts on a formal night it is getting a little ridiculous to say the least.
  5. I've seen that idea suggested many times over the years and although it would satisfy lots of people, implementing it would be next to impossible.
  6. If the additional $500 to have the seating area in the cabin is a worthwhile feature in addition to being seated quickly in the DR, then go for it. Most cruises sell those cabins out before sailing.
  7. Since everyone can now select their own style of clothing on any night, we can all be happy and enjoy the dining room dressed as we choose.
  8. They can make it on a formal night but sometimes just add it in as an addition replacing a casual evening. Not many people cared one way or the other. Example..
  9. Just realize that even if you set a "Do Not Disturb" on your cabin door screen, it can be changed by anyone walking down the hallway. Kid love to do this.
  10. Yes, I realize that I wouldn't be able to call outside phones without an INTERNET connection but just to call each other on the ship in the same network it may be possible. Still hoping.
  11. Of course it makes sense to watch it at least once. After that, it tourcher. Thankfully the old way is long gone.
  12. I suppose it would be expected but IF I were to go there feeling the way I do after being cheated on our next cruise, I seriously doubt I would tip anything. The ship should be tipping them from the extra charge of $14.99 per person.
  13. I was using the WhatsApp last cruise and it worked very good BUT we had the unlimited internet. Next trip, we don't so it should be interesting to see if it works with just the intranet alone. I really have no need of the internet when on the ship & enjoy getting away from most of the political news. At all our Caribbean ports we have unlimited phone & data so it's of no concern.
  14. Obviously they knew people would be upset but like everything else in the past, some folks just forget about it and move on. I don't.
  15. People are just fooling themselves if they think you can't be spotted as a "tourist". 😄 Your looks, clothing & actions will give it away even without a medallion or carry bag. We can spot tourists in our area here in Florida a block away.😄
  16. I'm still not certain if the Whatsapp will work without an internet connection or not. Not that I couldn't use their app to message my husband but Whatsapp is so much nicer if it'll work.
  17. That's correct, but I'll not patronize either Alfredo's or Gigi's on our next cruise but more than make up for it by ordering double portions elsewhere.
  18. I use to think the same but somehow those desserts do add up more quickly.
  19. We used to love the 4 night trips because there were no formal nights. Now all the cruises really have no formal nights no matter how long, which makes things even better.
  20. That's something to keep in mind if you do a B2B trip out of Galveston.
  21. My old body just can't handle that many steps each day as I have sciatica. I'll be lucky to do 3,000 on an active day.
  22. It's a big disadvantage of all those forward cabins. It's a hike to go anywhere.
  23. So many things have changed in 16 years. Are you in for a surprise. 🙄
  24. Because they can get away with it when lots of people are willing to pay. It's only $14. per day... for each person... 😄😉
