  1. Wonder is most likely China (Phase 2) the week of April 5, subject to change.
  2. 20% has always been the standard deposit. I can't recall it ever being 10%, unless it was part of a limited-time promo.
  3. The ship most at risk of being scrapped is Norwegian Sky, as its sister ship from Costa is already headed to the scrapper.
  4. May is probably a 25% chance at best. There's no reason why they shouldn't have extended the 60 day final payment window offered last year. Anyone making final payment 120 days out is going to be at higher risk of being cancelled until there's more certainty over the reopening schedule. I finally took the refund last week as I don't see fitting a Virgin Voyages cruise into my schedule in the next 2 years.
  5. Joy is due for a required 5 year dry dock inspection in 2022. This is likely the window when that will be done. The refit for North America done last year doesn't change this timetable.
  6. The idea that cases ever can or will be driven down to 0 is a fallacy, nor do they need to be given the high survivability rates in the vast majority of people. There will come a time where COVID-19 is just another disease and the hysteria will die down. This will come through a combination of vaccination driving down the transmission rates and improved treatment methods increasing survivability in the more vulnerable. That will drive the return to normalcy both on cruises and on shore. The only uncertainty is the timeline, but hopefully we'll be there by the end of 2021.
  7. Edge is being moved onto the itineraries that Beyond was expected to operate (but never listed for sale). This is a clear indication that the launch of Beyond is going to be delayed.
  8. There is still a 6th Oasis class ship on the order books scheduled for delivery in between the first and second Icon class ships. It's possible they may try to get out of this order, but for now it still stands.
  9. I wouldn't book anything that requires final payment before cruises resume. Given the latest extension, that rules out everything through April 2021.
  10. The healthy sail panel proposed no cruises longer than 10 days, so it would make sense for the Panama Canal trips to be cancelled. Joy will probably be rescheduled for 7 day or shorter trips in the Caribbean, assuming cruises resume by then.
  11. That is correct, although Joy is not scheduled to return to Alaska until at least 2023.
  12. Bliss and Encore never use the Canadian Inside Passage as they are too big.
  13. Most other cruise lines have cancelled or scaled back their dry docks to critical maintenance only. I would be shocked if NCL actually goes through with the second dry dock.
  14. The Latitudes Insider Offer runs through at least October 12. The Take All 5 deal will probably be extended at least that long as well if past promotions are any indication.
  15. I think they meant $1,025 per sailor, unless they're quoting suites.
  16. It appears the concept cabin may include the "infinite balcony" feature found on Celebrity Edge class. That's one (controversial) feature that I wouldn't be surprised to see show up on Icon class.
  17. It wouldn't be the first time Meyer Werft made a mistake painting the name of the ship. Norwegian Encore had the "Wonky C" where they used an O cut in half rather than a full letter C. That was corrected before delivery, as I expect this will.
  18. RCI is recategorizing all ships in May 2021 to simplify the number of categories. Originally they were supposed to launch the Spa category at the same time, but that has been postponed indefinitely.
  19. I would not book the first half of the year until cruising actually resumes. I am confident things will be getting back to normal by the second half of 2021 given the positive news on developing vaccines and therapeutics, but it will take a few months for those to be widely distributed and make an impact even if they are approved around the first of the year.
  20. The idea behind these itineraries is you would fly into and out of Panama City, which is why they are listed as starting and ending in Panama City even if they actually dock in Colon. The ones I've been looking at include free or reduced airfare (and is actually free at least from Detroit). It looks like it's only about an hour farther away to get to Panama City airport from Colon than Fuerte Amador, so it's doable that way.
  21. The general rule of thumb in tub vs. shower is: Bed near balcony = tub Bed near bathroom = shower The bed is in the part of the room that bumps out on the deck plan.
  22. That sign appears to be on a parking garage and not the new terminal.
  23. The ad is showing a sale price which has since expired. They are charging you the regular price of $61, but the sale price hasn't been taken down from the home page yet. Unfortunately you are at the mercy of what the system prices it out at, they won't do price adjustments even if you provide them the ad.
  24. Odyssey will most likely be in Europe in Summer 2022. The only Caribbean itineraries until fall will be the ones already for sale.
  25. I'm surprised Celebrity didn't think of something like this. They could have awarded full CC points for cancelled cruises if you agree not to take a refund, in lieu of the extra 25% FCC. This would have cost them less in the long run if people opted for points instead of extra credit.
