I so wanted a winter cruise but couldn't find one for a decent price once airfares were added, then picked up an amazing deal to Bali so spending 11 nights there in June instead. It really sucks to have to add nearly $1,000 to every fare to catch the ship!

I finally caught up and you are nearly ready to get off! So very glad there were some shennanigans!!!

A late happy easter to you all! We had a family lunch at my brother's place, more to celebrate my dad's 94th birthday than for easter but it was nice to all get together. Dad's birthday is today but I am working so yesterday was the better option. As is the way these days, I had a call this morning to say my sil has tested positive to Covid, hopefully she hasn't shared it with mum or dad.

Yep, it was a sad day here, The Explorer was due in on Tuesday but instead, helped for a while with the search and then stayed at sea until Wednesday. I'm very glad that all three missing were located, at least the families will have some closure.

If you go to the top of this page, look for the "find your roll call" tab, follow that through to HAL roll calls, then Westerdam roll calls, you will find a very active thread relating to your cruise. 7 hours, 8 pages - seems legit! Wish I could be onboard with you all (my liver is high fiving itself at the price of international flights right now!). I'm just gonna have to drive five hours and pick up a new puppy tomorrow to make myself feel better lol. So looking forward to following all the shenanigans and mayhem that will follow you lot wherever you go!

We got delayed by nearly 5 hours on one cruise, so many people lined up at guest services trying to change flights, us included! Luckily our travel agent sorted everything for us with no out of pocket costs, one family in front of us had to pay nearly $2,000 dollars for new flights home to Perth!. Since then, we have only booked late afternoon flights or stayed an extra night I agree that the angst isn't worth it!

I did the $5 challenge a few years ago. If you ever have any $5 notes in your wallet/purse at the end of a day, take them out and put them away, it's amazing how quickly they add up and I really didn't miss them at the time. of course, this only works if you are using cash lol!

What a shame, sounds like a total control grab to me. One of the last sentences is a worry, last time I went to Mystery Island, I booked on the island so that all the tour money went to the locals, rather than the cruise company. I bet the tours triple in cost!

I had an amazing experience cruising the Kimberley in July this year. It was the most expensive cruise I have ever taken, by a long shot, but worth every cent! I loved Broome as well, Matso's, the markets and the surrounding areas made for a packed few days of exploring once the cruise was finished!

@phoenixxx yep, booked in Australia.

I'm not sure if it's the same, but I have just booked a trip which includes an NCL cruise through the mediterranean and the grats were built in to the price.

Hmm.... I'm probably lucky that their website seems to not be working properly here in Australia, I've saved myself a heap of money!
