  1. if the prices are the same i would suspect the portions are the same. that said, i dont think i've ever seen a "big" or "small" hibachi portion and my wife is a big fan of hibachi. some are most certainly better than others but i think they all give just about the same quantity of food per dinner.
  2. i've been on 3 of the 5 Conquest class ships and had a blast every time. The Breeze was my first ship i sailed on. i cant say that i remember missing anything that was on the Breeze that wasnt on the Conquest class ships.
  3. there are a couple machines in las vegas that my wife plays that have the machine next to it on silent. i must admit those are not my favorites...i dont need it super loud but a slot is pretty zzzzz when it has no noise.
  4. loved the panorama. didnt love walking up the ramps at long beach. i had tweaked my ankle the day before and i finally felt a little bit of my age hiking up the walkway. ha!
  5. oh, see also likes that machine with the reels that spin that yells at us: TWO MORE FOR THE BONUS! ONE MORE FOR THE BONUS!
  6. i always think i've sailed the Glory (and Legend) but my expanded signature clearly documents we havent. i do like that class of ship, however. Breeze was my first and will always hold a special place in my travel heart. we have been pretty lucky with embarkations the past several years. much, much quicker than it was in my first few sails where it wasnt unusual to snake back and forth in line for a pretty considerable amount of time. i dont think we have been over 15 mins this decade... (except for NCL in San Juan, THAT was a commitment)
  7. What's YOUR personal favorite slot machine Carnival has? My wife loooooooooooooves the fat piggies slot. (i dont think i have a favorite one. i adore the ones that don't take my money rapidly. we get free drinks in the casino and i really enjoy having a few adult bevs before my daily wagering budget is captured)
  8. oh, and we've already prebooked the hibachi place on Venezia for our Oct cruise. da Mrs just loves some fried rice and teriyaki marinated steak cubes.
  9. in my experience Carnival ships have plenty of food options for a week onboard. not everything is A+ (cough, buffet) but I've been pleasantly surprised with the MDR. i almost always clear my plate. We usually hit the pizza place 1-2x and Guyburgers are so much better than i thought they'd be. we also like the deli. we will hit the italian joint for lunch on sea day when its complimentary. I will also do Guy BBQ on sea day but i must admit i find it mediocre. Still, it's a welcome change of pace. and i think we are one of the few folks who dont rave about the Iquana. i'd much rather get a burger if i'm on lido and hangry.
  10. i agree with Pyrate, for $150 total i jump all over an extended balcony. oh, and give Little French Key on Roatan a little research. one of my favorite places on that side of the Gulf.
  11. has anyone heard if the common areas on the Venezia are a tad bit on the warm side? i kid, i kid...
  12. First, i love ncl. And carnival. Liked msc very much too. We have been looking to book a Feb 2024 cruise out of US port and ncl prices are waaaaaaay above our historical expectations. Saw a 7 nt oceanview(we are usually balcony) from nola as low as $659pp but when we selected it lowest non sailaway cabin was $1500 pp. Plus fees, taxes and grat. Whooo boy. We have a 12 nt CCL sailing booked at 1/15th (granted casino offer) the price. Sure thats an outlier but i expected less than $200pp/day for cabin from ncl. Non haven, of course.
  13. Generally, if you get in fights on a cruise ship or all inclusive resort or airport you just might have a behavioral issue that warrants professional attention. I certainly recognize public outbursts are more common nowadays. But despite the Venenezia video pointing to a certain demographic lets not ignore some of the hateful, divisive things said across this country by the elite. And some elected officials. Im a lets get together and feel alright type of guy, especially on vacation. Fun is numero uno. I still havent had an altercation at sea. (Also ive hosted family cruises where my 3 twentysomething kids and their +1 have cabins and drink packages paid. Not once have they had so much as a double take about their behavior. But theyre the proverbial good kids, kind to others and not selfish. I got a little lucky, imho)
  14. We have $1000 ofnext cruise credit on ncl and cant find sailing to use it. CCL has been far and away the best value since pandemic.
  15. i'd love to see Carnival set boundaries and hold folks accountable. i'm a big fan of orderly behavior at sea. that said, i consistently see folks walking in the buffet with no shirt and no shoes coming from lido pool in swimsuit. some folks are in vacation mode and couldn't care less about anyone else but themselves and their whims and desires. its a tale as old as time...
  16. ive sailed a decent amount of days on Carnival and never witnessed a physical incident. That said i'm never awake after midnight (anymore). my wife and her sister witnessed one scuffle a few years ago. they went for the "cheapest cruise they could find" and they said they got it. as a former bartender i'm never surprised when overindulging leads to drama. especially in a group setting.
  17. Ive heard the galley is often hot and humid. But...i cant stand the heat so i get out of kitchens.
  18. In the interior public spaces is the tea hot like the air?
  19. Tilefish Mexican street corn Deep dish pizza Cincinnati chili
  20. I think we were on ncl the one time we sailed over halloween, so doesnt necessarily apply. i agree with the 20-30% estimate of costumed folk, some much more decorative than others. but the folks who dressed up were pretty fun to drink with on lido and in interior bars. Slainte!
  21. my first Carnival thoughts were: dang, this boat is big! (Breeze) and the rooms, while small, were more than sufficient. i had dreaded cabin fever beforehand. third - DRANKS!
  22. What ship? We were on Panorama, Vista class, and Guys Pig would sell full bottle of Col EH Taylor for around $125. They also had Blantons. I havent seen that bottle in years. That would be a kick arse gift.
  23. The pushed together beds can be separated upon request. We have a guarantee cabin in oct and i must admit i check every few weeks to see if its assigned yet. Cmon deck 4 or higher, ha.
  24. we have taken two family cruises with adult children and +1s who were new to cruising. my wife is platinum. im gold. the others were blue and red. we all walked together and boarded effortlessly. it seems like its a lot quicker to board nowadays. my first cruises tended to have a big line snaking back and forth. now we arrive around noon and pretty much walk on board past few years.
