LOL.  I thought the page looked familiar and then when I saw Aquidneck and Jamestown I realized it was written by someone in RI.

I bought a whistle but damn if I can remember to take it with me at night.  Works if you fall and can't get up too since it can be heard a mile away (so they claim).

My neighbor saw a couple of foxes in the area across from his house last week.  We had them living in a rock pile behind the house about 15 years ago for just one year.  They were pretty skittish, I didn't worry about them until my 15 lb dog ran out of the house and after the pups.  I ran behind him making some noise and they ran off.  Ugh!  Little dog syndrome.

Thanks! I have emailed ours to us and put them in a folder on our phones. I wish Florida had an app on general principles.
a few months ago, I tried to put our cards in the Wallet and it wanted to treat them like credit cards. I need to sit down and work on it.

I had no trouble putting our Heathrow Express tickets in it!

Of course, I was 3 years younger and smarter then!

Mimi, DH just explained it in more detail because I missed a important note in the original instructions. It starts by having that 401 app we have and then going from there.  So, without that app he isnt't sure how to get the card into the wallet.  Nice thing about the app is that it has the QR and by snapping a photo it recognized it and asked if he wanted to add to his wallet.   Once he did it asked if he wanted to add it to his wallet.  Good luck.  We might have killed some brain cells figuring out how to do it but it is done.

I really havent been following the storm reports. Last I heard earlier today is my area will either get 3 to 6 inches or could be up to a foot or more.  Whatever it is our snowblower is ready to go.  I better run out for milk😉

LOL.  I like the Fairlife milk for its stability and my daughter told me the other day it was on sale.  Normally I would go on Friday but I already wrote off that expedition.  I stopped and picked it up, along with a pizza and some other necessities, like the shoes I ordered from DSW.

Thanks. I didn't realize that you had to do a swipe to get the booster to show.

Edit: just tried the swipe, does nothing. I'll worry about when I get home.... whenever that might be.😏

I was just thinking.  Do you have the original "Crush COVID RI" app vs. the newer "401Health"?  I may be mistaken (got my info from ProJo) but it sounds like the 401 Health just came out in December.

When I was at the downtown flea market on St. Thomas one of the old ladies in her booth gave me an unsolicited "education" on the vaccines. Mind you all I did was ask her what happened to all the vendors that used to be here.😯

Are they all home due to "swollen" (fill in the blank) caused by the vaccine?

Graham, I wish it was dinner time here.

Could you give me the name of the one that evidently lets you store vaccination info?

Mimi, the one that @reallyitsmemaand I are using is an app our states adopted, along with other states, as she mentioned a couple of weeks ago.  When I did a quick search I see that Florida, along with a number of other states, don't require proof of vaccination so no specific state app.

The other thing we did was we loaded a copy of our cards into our apple wallets.  It took some doing, DH had to take a picture of mine if I remember correctly but we did get it to load.  It displays a QR code,  along with the dates of the shots, vaccine used and who the card is issued by.  In my case it is the state of RI.

I also have a picture of actual card in a "locked file" on my iphone.

Maybe a few of our real good "techies" might have a recommendation for an app?

This evening we had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Cruisewizard (Gary and Mary). They are both delightful. This is the third leg of their B2B2B.

I have not run into Twangster…..but then I don’t know who to look for!

Tomorrow is Costa Maya. It seemed we were sailing along Cuba for all day today! My mind is playing tricks…….I swear I heard someone calling O Luceeeeeeee!

I tried Curacao Cosmo today in the lounge. Robitussin! Yuk.

Guess you need OB's bartender to make it for you.

The app has your booster listed? It only has my first two. I don't know if the people who load the info are behind or what.

Yes.  When I open the app and tap on my vaccination card it opens to show the first two shots.  Swipe left and the screen then displays the booster.  I had my done 12/1 and it was in the app when I loaded it last week.

I also have DH's card in my app and mine in his just to make it easier if the two of us need to display our cards for whatever reason.

Something similar happened to us in St Lucia.  A guy was 'making' jewellery on the beach. I really loved the necklace and bought one made specially for me . Found them half the price in a local shop later 🤷‍♀️

LOL.  For that reason I would never buy anything expensive.  I just don't know what to look for and would easily get taken for a ride.

  6. @reallyitsmemaThanks for that suggestion to install the covid app (401 something, lol).  First time I installed it I couldn't get it to do anything.  I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling and wa la!  Works like a charm and the good news is that everything matched.  Even the letter I guessed when I had to print the shot info from my booster card to the original one that I left at home on booster day.  DH had better luck and now has his on his phone too.

That is a very workable plan for the wintertime.  Since, John is denying me access to his driveway and limoncello.  They neither one have been nearly as accommodating as Andrew.

Andrew is Canadian after all.  Need I say more?😀

@A&L_OntSorry your plans are going up in smoke, again.   So frusterating with all the restrictions and then Owen having to miss out in hockey.  We took our daughter away for winter break during her senior year in high school.  The girl's new hockey coach punished her by not letting her play when she returned. No banquet or letters either for the graduating seniors.  Lousy end to her 4 years of playing for her school.  Fortunately the three years before really boosted her confidence level.

I know what you mean.    They were driving me bonkers on the beach in St Maarten near the Blue Bit*** Bar.     Constantly asking if I wanted my hair braided or sell me their island made jewelry.    I try to be as pleasant as possible when I say No but after awhile it wears thin on anyone.

LOL.  We were on a beach one year and I swear the woman asked my husband (who had liitle hair left on the top of his head) if he wanted his hair braided.  I think she had gotten two much sun that day.

Another time, also in St. Marteen, a woman came around selling shell bracelets "that her brother made".  I liked it and gave her the $10 bucks.  I got a good laugh out of my foolishness when I spotted the same bracelet in Kohls when we got back.  I think of the woman and her "brother" whenever I wear it.

Yes, the older theaters in NYC provide very little leg room.  We made sure we reserved an aisle seat at the end of the row where Jim could move his bad knee at the last Play we saw.

When we were planning on seeing some shows in London I remember reading about how uncomfortable some of the theaters were taller people.  DH is 6' and FIL is 6'4' so booking aisle seats was a priority.  The website Sue posted was an immense help!

Does anyone have a Queen of the Night in their garden?  My dad gifted one to my daughter for her birthday  this time last year.  They only flower at night, for one night only after 9pm.  Our first flower is about to bloom, so I am on night watch for the next couple of nights…

I was going to say I remembered seeing a stunning plant on this thread a while back.

I have one, also called Night Blooming Cereus.  It didn't bloom this year, possibly because it got knocked over and I had to repot it, but it bloomed the previous two years.  I keep it in a pot on my back porch, but have to bring it into the garage for the winter so it doesn't freeze.

I posted about my friend's plant that we watched bloom in her garden this past October.  Her plant is overwintering in my garage now, too.

Have fun watching your daughter's plant.  I'd love to see pictures.

And there it is.  I am going to watch the video again.  I had never heard of the plant until that day.

I'm definitely catching Allure on a good week. All the entertainment is running and St. Thomas appears to be a go for tomorrow. The weather has been great. And this Champagne Bar has two of the best bartenders that I have run across. Life is good.... except for those damn balcony chairs.😇

    And masks!

I have seen Mama Mia three times, last time alone because I liked it so much even though it took away from pool time.

  10. We are supposed to be in Tortola in two weeks and I see that our cruiseline, Celebrity, states it is back to ship excursions as of 1/20/22.  It was bad enough they cut our day short and I could no longer do the excursion on my own to the Baths based on the ferry times but now I have to go through the cruise line for my backup plan to Cane Bay.  With the ship excursion you are lucky to get 2 hours at the beach.

A Panama Canal trip was next on our list.  We didn't have anything booked because we had the move going on.  My plan was that as soon as we got completely moved I would book that cruise.  Now I don't think we will ever do that trip.  I really wanted to see the canal in action.  That will be wonderful cruise for you and especially fun with a relative to catch up with.

Dumb question coming up.  What do you mean by the "canal in action".  I know I don't watch the news much but what did I miss?

You must have a big dog!  My little 11lb dog was on 50mg 3X daily.  The pregabalin is working out better for him but without the good RX it would be $500 for a month's supply.

I’m in the next town over (Coventry), wish I could figure out where to get them here.  I was at Target yesterday, noticed the lady behind me put a box of Binax tests on the conveyor belt. By the time I paid and walked back to the pharmacy area they were gone!  We were able to order two boxes online last night from Walmart that supposedly will be delivered tomorrow.  I’d just like to have some with us when we travel to FL soon.

I don't live in West Warwick but they gladly gave me a box.  I was there to renew my membership card so this location is only minutes from my house.  Maybe check tomorrow?  I only found out because I stopped by, I did notice (after I went home) that they mentioned the kits available while supplies lasted. They only give 1 kit (two tests) per person.  The librarian told me to come back later but I was good.

The KC YMCA sent out a notice they had test kits to hand out but I didn't feel like making a special trip.  I will be going tomorrow, I wouldn't mind scoring another set.

@dani negreanuI'm not a seafood lover but the presentation on that dish was beautiful!

@ReneeFLLCongrats on passing your test.  Enjoy your week.  BTW, one of my orchids has a flower shoot.  The other one, well, not looking so good.  Leaves are wrinkly and it is down to just two.  Oh well!

  13. Have a great  trip OB.

I just stopped at the WW library to renew my card and they had covid tests.  I grabbed one kit for dh and I.  I woke up early this morning at 2:30  (with my dog's help that is) and decided to make our appointments for 2 weeks from today.  I mis-calculated, Friday opens tomorrow.  Back to bed, try tomorrow.  Only thing I am worried about is if my appt. at cvs gets cancelled.  I'm going to try to make an appointment somewhere else.  Worse case scenerio is we get on the plane and try to find a place in FLL and keep our fingers crossed..

And now the vet has prescribed Gabapentin for the cat for office visit anxiety. :classic_rolleyes: One capsule 15 hours before his appointment and a second 2-3 hours before. We will have to see how that goes.....

My dog was on Gab for three years for his back pain.  We just switched to pregabalin in November and he seems so much more comfortable.  I wish I asked about a different drug.  Only reason I asked is that he was taking it three times a day and it was a challenge finding a stay at home pet sitter who could ensure he received it on time.  With the pregabalin it is a capsule twice a day.  No more bitter pills.
