  1. It's theft, however unintentional. They were responsible for not taking something that didn't belong to them. They can pay to ship it back to your sister or face the consequences. Personally, I'd just make the claim on the insurance and if there were irreplaceable personal items I would pay for them to just ship those items.
  2. I would go without hesitation. Probably more risk at a random big box store in the US.
  3. Pinns had the Safari Club on my recent Jewel cruise. The teeny tiny DL up in the vortex was packed the one time I went in to get a cup of coffee. The door was open so it spilled over into the Vortex area. No one checked my seapass card anyway. I'm D+ so this doesn't affect me much but I'd scrap the whole lounge/snacks/coffee program. At this point, it's a very low percentage of eligible status members who can actually use the spaces. Add more vouchers/freebies and call it a day.
  4. I've had this request ignored on all of my recent cruises. I think they don't want to offend same-gendered couples so they just leave them together unless you request in person. I've certainly filled out enough request forms ahead of time to have them separate. The cabin attendants are spread thin now, I had to search out mine on my last cruise to have the beds changed when we were leaving for dinner. In the past, the attendant would greet you in the afternoon and get your preferences.
  5. I've cruised with someone using a scooter and the cabin attendant suggested having housekeeping take the scooter to store and charge overnight. We just called in the morning and someone brought it by.
  6. That's really not a bad spot. You are not over the smoking bus stop which is further back right under the cabins on deck six. The risk of that area is why I won't book balcony gty on Quantum class.
  7. The door is a non-issue. No extra noise in my experience. We have also booked both sides of these and had the balcony opened up which is nice. I wouldn't hesitate to book if you like the location.
  8. The table next to us finished before us every night, and then the same my-time couple were seated at this table every night as we were finishing. No doubt with the faster service, they were out in time for the late seating party to have the table. The blended traditional and my time appears to work really well now. This was on a smaller ship (Jewel) so I'm not sure if that is the same on the bigger ones.
  9. We had a very unique sailaway on Jewel that conflicted with our early dining time. We asked ahead of time if it would be okay if we did MTD for one night and was told it was fine. We showed up around 7pm and waited briefly in the no reservation line.
  10. I'd suggest a relaxing morning and lunch on the ship and when you notice families heading back to the ship, head out. The last two hours in Labadee have a complete mood shift. There are paths to walk and hammocks under trees, no need to go on the beach. Be among the last people back on board.
  11. Pros: more space between diners, more attentive service, a calmer vibe, better food Cons: price for a whole family or group, repetitive visits to the same restaurants, repeated over-indulgence, may have difficulty getting times you want I've done it a few times and consider it a nice treat, but not necessary. As far as kids and eating quickly, I think MDR is a faster experience now. The menu revamp is geared at getting people in and out. We averaged 45 minutes on my last sailing, and that was without any effort to be out fast. The specialties offer a more relaxed environment and generally have a slower pace.
  12. I would either do the 7 day or split my time between Disney/Universal and one of these sailings. I wouldn't want the stress of moving between ports.
  13. I guess I had it good lol. I only had to open my door to connect a couple of times.
  14. Just off 14 nights on Jewel and they repeated a lot of choices, but not on the same nights. Overall, I would say the food was more basic but the execution has improved. Service was great.
  15. Yes, it was basically a big round trip to Hawaii from Vancouver. Nice back to back if you have the time. It was undersold, probably because it involved two flight legs for most people. We flew to Hawaii and then used Royal's compensation from the short notice PVSA problem to fly from Vancouver to San Diego to complete that part of our trip, and then back east.
  16. Jewel in September, marginally better than pre-Starlink, but intermittent problems connecting in the cabin. Midship, lower deck. It's nowhere near as good as the wifi on Virgin Voyages for comparison.
  17. LOL, we definitely went from Honolulu to Vancouver! From there, Radiance did a coastal California sailing to LA, and then a Panama Canal sailing. This was fall 2022. We had been booked on the coastal sailing as well but the PVSA problem prevented us from doing that as a back to back.
  18. I was on your cruise, what a wonderul trip! I had originally been booked on a RIB tour and had it cancelled due to port time change. I was only able to rebook on the regular iceberg boat tour and expected that to be like the whale boats in Alaska. Thankfully, the boats are really small and able to scratch right up on the bergs. We were able to touch them, get amazing pictures, and on one excursion have a chip of ice to eat. Yes, it was cold, but we did fine without the special suits. It was nice being able to move around to get pictures. I would definitely recommend saving the money and booking the regular boat ones.
  19. Sailed Honolulu to Vancouver on Radiance last year, late Sept/Oct. Absolutely perfect weather the whole way. Cooler the last two sea days but not cold. Arrived in Vancouver to a picture perfect fall day. We had four islands in Hawaii which was really nice for us because we were first time visitors. It's interesting to read of port problems on embarkation in Honolulu. We had the opposite experience. No line, no waiting, very friendly staff. By far the quickest drop off to stepping on ship experience I've ever had. Perhaps it's because we had our first night with the ship as hotel and didn't leave Honolulu until the next day?
  20. Once you get to that info on the app, screenshot it so you have it off the ship if you aren't connecting your phone on land.
  21. That's interesting about the Aperol Spritz being renamed. It has a lot of haters but I like it. So pretty, light and refreshing. The best drink on my last cruise was something a bartender concocted on our last night when bar stocks were low. He muddled several lemons, added some syrup, and some sort of special vodka I didn't get the name of. Very lemony with not too much sweetness. I really wish I had written it down. I don't like most of the menu cocktails, way too sweet for my taste.
  22. I've done time in the Anthem Fight Club, eh, Solarium, and I've never seen teens congregate. Adults fighting over chairs? All the time. Adults deciding they are the DJ now and providing tunes for all on their speaker? Yup. Big parties occupying hot tubs all day long? Of course.
  23. I've seen this too, and from specialty restaurants. I'd suggest keeping it simple and tipping.
