  1. Ross truly is top notch. I'd sail on Seabourn again just to sail with him.
  2. Does that mean we get an additional $500 credit and does that mean it's applied retroactively?
  3. Regent has excellent space in their cabins. Disagree with Nancy about Seabourn, especially compared to OC and Regent.
  4. They were good, but one chocolate chip cookie was my lunch dessert every day.
  5. I believe there are still bathtubs in the Aquamarine and Sapphire Classic cabins?
  6. As I said, sartire and some folks don’t get it, thinking it doesn’t relate to them. And Nancy, I’m not implying it’s you
  7. You'll get back more on your grand voyage than you would on a 7 day cruise. It's based on what you are still owed. So if you paid $100,000 for the grand voyage and are still owed 100k , you get $20,000 for each of 5 cruises. If you booked a 7 day cruise and are still owed $10,000 you'll get $2,000 for each of the five cruises. Why do you see that as a problem since either way you'll get back what you are owed?
  8. It's sad because before Regent went AI with tours, their tours were generally very good to excellent to outstanding. Once they went AI, it seems they dropped the ball choosing mass market tours, and not caring about the experience. Additionally before they went AI, there was a person from Regent on every single tour and every single tour bus, boat, etc. No more! If I'm paying for a 6 star experience, I don't want to be doing NCL tours with filled busses, etc.
  9. We are also booked next March on Regent Tokyo RT. What does that say to you?
  10. I think we have less of an idea about Explora than even NC. I say that because they have nothing about their lecturers or entertainment, or any classes on sea days, etc. Yes they have multiple restaurants and several pools. (I have no interest in the pools as I have one with a hot tub right in my backyard which is usable for 9 months of the year. And yes, I realize we don't have a good idea yet about NC either, but I'll take my chances on NC first and wait for reports on Explora. We are booked on Explora in early 2025.
  11. We mostly sailed Regent before they went AI and our credits show up.
  12. What's sad is before they started including tours in the price, none of this ever happened. They used to have truly excellent tours, with half filled busses, etc. This reminds me of what happened on one tour we wanted to take. It was a boat ride to see whales and dolphins. We were waitlisted but told to come to the dock as most likely we'd be able to get on. Well everyone who had tickets did get on except there weren't enough seats. People were literally standing so we passed on doing the tour. How is that safe and who checked out that tour operator?
  13. All you have to do is go to reception and ask to speak to the GM. They will find you. When we were on Splendor back in Feb. I had some issues with food and beverage. I went to reception and asked the F and B manager to get in touch with me. Less than 24 hours later, we sat down with him and described what had happened. In fact, in one or two instances, he was not aware of issues in one of his dining rooms and thanked us. As for Gerson, if it's the same gentleman, he seemed to be a bit gruff and like he didn't enjoy his job.
  14. Interesting because as I mentioned the last time we sailed before our Splendor cruise was in 2010. We found the entertainment much better. Agree about the food.
  15. And that's the problem for us. We don't want to do nothing. We don't need multiple pools. As I mentioned we have a perfectly good pool in our backyard. And while we enjoy relaxing, reading, doing some needlework, we also enjoy good entertainment and lectures.
  16. Where are the tours and pricing?
  17. Well I did 2 cruises on Regent after they started including tours (one to SE Asia and one to Alaska) and this one in Feb. In every one the busses were filled. This one was the worst however with the bus not having AC in the back and as mentioned some folks having to sit really on the ground with their feet sticking out. Oh and 6 of the seats were on the wheel wells. I forgot that. So if you sat in those seats, your knees were up at your mouth. Back before being all inclusive, they would not have put people in those seats upfront or over the wheel wells. They would have ordered extra busses. (We actually were the only ship docked that day so they couldn't use the excuse of not enough tour busses because of too many ships.) In fact I remember how they prided themselves in being different than all other cruise lines in that they kept the capacity on all busses and tours small. No more!
  18. Agree. Most did suck but every once in a while, they'd come up with a gem.
  19. First let me say we too did a 14 day to the southern Caribbean in Feb on Splendor. Beautiful ship! Fabulous cabins. We last cruised on Regent back in 2010 before the new ships. We switched to Crystal in 2014 but now with the changes decided to give all the other lines a try. We will not do SS again and we might do SB if it's a warm weather cruise. I have to agree with pretty much your whole review although sitting out at the pool is not something we care about since we live in FL and can sit at our pool any day. But your other critiques were spot on. Especially the food in Setti Mari. My veal was so tough, it couldn't even be cut with a steak knife. And the tomato sauce reminded me of tomato soup. It lacked any texture or taste. As for the antipasto bar, we were seated up in front and no one even told us there was an antipasto bar. And when they delivered my too tough to eat veal, I asked where the vegetables were. Their comment? They could go get some from Compass Rose but it might take a while. And yes, the Biscotti came out of a bag. I asked the F and B manager and he confirmed they didn't make them on the ship. Why? As for the food in Pacific Rim? I found the same as you. Our first time was very good. Our second time not so good. The other specialties were excellent. However agree about the grill. Ok but definitely not 6 star. Compass Rose food was hit or miss. However, I will say, the desserts onboard were the best of any ship I've been on. (Not a good thing for the waistline when desserts are fabulous but the food is hit or miss.) And on our second time in Prime 7, they had run out of prime ribs and the fish of the day. This was before 8 PM! We made the shows and they were excellent. Tours were ok with one excellent tour. Busses were completely filled with some people on the small busses needing to sit up front where the seats were only inches off the ground and the guest needing to sit with their feet straight out in front of them. Before Regent went all inclusive with tours, busses were never completely filled but only half filled. This is a bad cost cutting measure. More like being herded like cattle like on the larger ships. As mentioned staff was excellent. Would we book again? We just did. However we realize their tours are not always great and the food is hit or miss. But in this case the itinerary is what we want and Regent's deal is too good to pass up. Plus the positives definitely outweighed the negatives. 🙂
  20. I'm on a MAC and have the same problem where I can't scroll down.
