    Destination Fee

Yes we all are. $700 pp.
  2. Mine was in September this past year. And yes I'd suggest that overall, it wasn't up to what Crystal was in the past. You can read our review here in the reviews.
  3. 10. We are on them in September. I'll let you know. 🙂
  4. It's a trend. One I find most men like and women not so much. We have a rain shower which I've never used. Instead I use the hand shower that's on a pole. Nice strong spray so I know the soap gets out of my hair.
  5. I asked my TA about the same thing. It's in the contract on their site that there is a $700 pp destination fee. Of course why do we need a destination fee or is this instead of port fees?
  6. Nothing misleading at all. It says Fares From, which clearly implies that's the low end of the fare and if you've cruised before, you know that depending on where on the ship your cabin is, will also determine your price.
  7. cExcursions. Other lines include an excursion in every port. I realize these are not premium excursions, but they are included in the fare. Crystal thinks it can charge us more for an unproven shipboard product AND an unproven shore experience. Absolutely not true. Yes SS and Regent include them but SB does not. And they are awful. They pack the busses full and are so basic as to be not worth the thousands extra we pay for cruising. It was why we originally left Regent for Crystal. In fact, we prefer doing our own private tours. So this is a positive. I'm betting Crystal's shipboard experience will be well worth it.
  8. Ugh, I hope they have more than a rain shower. They are awful and if you ask most women, they would agree.
  9. I've been on both recently. Service was not at all comparable. In fact we wrote reviews on both. Food was ok on SS and just so-so on SB. More dining options didn't equate to better food. And SS lacked any evening entertainment on the cruise I was on. Oh they had their singers who were good but I've seen better shows in my kid's high school performances. Plus there was a single destination lecturer on. Additionally because of Hurricane Fiona we wound up having more sea days than designated. (of course that's no one's fault,) On SS during that time what did they do for activities, classes, etc? CRICKETS. Good thing I brought my own book and needlework. Not even them suggesting a handiwork get-together. Now compare that to Crystal where if there's an unexpected sea day, they wind up with more classes, more lectures, etc. As for SB? Great CD on the cruise we were on. Horrible SB square place to get a snack as nothing like the Bistro. Only dried out pre-made sandwiches, cookies and cakes. Coffee was excellent though. Fun sail aways and they definitely made it a fun time but if you're doing a cold weather cruise on SB good luck because to get everyone together to "party" (like in Crystal Cove, it had better be warm because it's all outdoors. Indoor facilities are too small for everyone.

    Singles/Fares

    Especially with less pax.
  11. Maybe it should be the Sapphire suites and above which would be slightly more than it was when it was PH and above?
  12. Yes we noticed that too. In the past it was for PH and above. Also a negative is now only the Jr. CP and above get unlimited in the specialty restaurant(s). In the past it was for anyone in a PH or above. And the lack of drawers is a negative. Positive is they're keeping the movie theater, the computer room, etc.
  13. Almost all the crew i spoke with are returning as soon as their current contracts are finished. There is only one person i spoke to who isn’t sure
  14. I'm guessing they paid a premium to get the ship up and running. Otherwise maybe not.
  15. Also I want to know if they're planning on having lecturers (not only destination lecturers), entertainment and classes?
  16. We will be on the Iceland-NY portion. 16 days.
  17. Ugh. I only like real maple syrup too. I will say that if Regent doesn't have it, they were the only one of the top ships as SS, Seabourn and the old Crystal had it.
  18. Are you trying to say that the fact a single cruiser gets 25% off the price of a room is a sweet deal when they don't use 2x the shore excursions, they don't eat 2x the food or drink 2x the booze? Seems to me those of us who double up in a room are the ones getting the "pretty sweet financial deal" versus the solo traveler. And as such I think they too should get the other promotions or at least be able to get it for a discounted rate. Seems to me the cruise ship is still coming out ahead.
  19. LOL. My NY would have come out and I would have probably said something like, "Well since you're a 400 day passenger, and know how it works, then you also know you have to wait in the Observation Lounge.
  20. Hanukkah is 8 nights and days. The first night was December 18th, which makes the last NIGHT, December 25th. It ends at SUNDOWN on the 26th so by the time one has dinner on the 26th, Hanukkah is over.
  21. I don't think they are that different. I find the food similar in quality and the lack of activities and entertainment the same.
  22. Too bad the last night of Hanukkah is December 25th!
  23. Again, to cash out was still more money than if you had done port2port. I found SS overpriced for what we got.
  24. On our Whisper B2B 22 day cruise there were many more informal nights compared to informal. In fact I could count on one hand the number of informal nights.
