  1. Please explain as to how and why they can't handle allergies. We will be on in February.
  2. If you read the SS board, you seem to be the exception. They don't seem to be able to get their act together regarding their air. As for us, we were getting the ship out of NYC. There are 3 airlines that fly direct from Sarasota to NYC. However, they wanted to book us out of Tampa which is a 1 hour drive. Yes they'd provide their limo service, up to 50 miles. Problem? We are 54 miles outside of Tampa. We are a 10 minute drive from our Sarasota airport.
  3. I did because originally when we booked it said up to $250 per cabin. They wound up fixing their mistake.
  4. The savings were minimal. Still was more than the P2P fare.
  5. With only 350 Right Whales alive now, even the loss of 1 or 2 is devastating.
  6. I just posted my response on the Regent forum.
  7. I haven't been on Regent since 2010 (switched to Crystal) but will be back on Regent in March. We always enjoyed Regent in the past. We sailed SS for the first time this past September on Whisper from NY to Quebec and back to NY. So here is how I see SS compared to Wes: Dining; enjoy the main Restaurant on Regent more than Silversea, but much prefer the specialty restaurants on Silversea Found the specialties just so-so. We had the same dishes in the main dining room and found them mostly the same to make La Dame not worth the money. Enjoy the service more on Silversea (for us; more intuitive than on Regent (they serve you before you ask). We did not find the service on SS intuitive. Things like having to ask for sugar and cream for our coffee? Bringing 3 pats of butter at dinner for a table of 5? That's not intuitive. When we mentioned to our butler how there was no place to just get a cookie in the middle of the day, his comment to us was, "well on the other ships you can get one". We weren't on the other ships and intuitive would have been, "Let me go get you one right now, What kind would you like?" Excursions are similar on both lines but Regent fills buses at near capacity, Silversea does not so you're with a smaller group on excursions. Sorry but the only excursion on SS that wasn't filled was the one tour we paid a premium for. The "free" tours all were filled to capacity. In some cases on school busses. Daytime entertainment more enjoyable on Regent (Enterainment staff and Officers always involved with guests). There was almost no daily entertainment or lectures on SS. Even on sea days. Nightime entertainment similar on both lines; tho Silversea brings in very special entertainers on occassion (e.g., Andrea Bocelli). They brought in NO ONE. Their only entertainment was their own singers/dancers. And their shows were barely better than a HS performance. On 2 or 3 nights their idea of entertainment was showing the same movie.
  8. On their website it says: By confirming an Open Deposit, guests are guaranteed early access to our exclusive first look period and eligibility to book your cruise for our 2023 & 2024 itinerary launch season, with priority. In addition, guests may purchase as many Open Deposits and for each one, if confirmed within 90 days from our itinerary launch date, you will receive up to$500USD* of As You Wish shipboard credit. Each Open Deposit can only be applied once per booking. However on the booking conformation we just received it says:
  9. If you paid with AMEX platinum, take it up with AMEX.
  10. Are you saying we can't adjust the temperature in our rooms?
  11. Yes but they don't have the dental issues that CC have because for the AHT it's a recessive gene. And they have NO hair except for eyebrows, lashes and whiskers.
  12. They actually have AHT's in Finland and in Canada. They wear clothes and booties when they go out in the cold weather. For the summer sun (we're in FL so sun all year round), we either put sunscreen on or a sunsuit.
  13. Both girls are better dressed. Heck I think they have more clothes than me although Wondyr tends to be a nudist.
  14. No she prefers to go barefoot. There is absolutely NO fur. That's bare skin which is why they are Hairless Terriers. 🙂
  15. You should look into an American Hairless Terrier. Lowest dander breed of any dog. I am highly allergic and have had no issues with our two. BTW, this is our house so yes they're allowed on OUR couches. Top pic is Wondyr age 2 and bottom pic is Cocoa age 12. OK back to our regularly scheduled topic. 🙂
  16. Here is our review of the Whisper. Like you, we had 14 completed cruises on Crystal. https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=691608
  17. We weren't on Dawn but on Whisper. If you didn't like Seabourn because of those reasons, you'll like SS even less. I'd sooner do Seabourn again versus SS. We are going to try Regent again (we were Regent sailors before discovering Crystal in 2014) in Feb. I will say the food on SS was slightly better than on Seabourn, at least at dinnertime. We posted a review of our Whisper cruise in cruise reviews.
  18. So they're willing to cut off their noses to spite their faces? (My mother's saying.)
  19. Keith the person you responded to said that they would have to sail within 90 days of when Crystal first sails. That is incorrect. They have to book within 90 days of when bookings first open for those who put down a $500 deposit, but that sailing doesn't have to be within 90 days of the first sailing.
