Everything posted by July morning

  1. There are two speciality restaurants which are very at but as you say might not be for you 😁 we worried that everyone would be very old and some were😉 but they went to bed. We have also been on Princess and apart from when we went to Australia didn't rate them but that is just our experience.
  2. I should have mentioned that the post C cruise we have done with FO were from Liverpool and Newcastle which was much more convenient for us and as someone else mentioned the drinks are very reasonable. Package on the last cruise at the end of April was £25pp bought pre-cruise or £35pp on board anything not in the package was half price luckily we have always booked when it was free drinks package also gratuities were £5pp per day
  3. Sorry we haven't sailed on Balmoral but have been on Braemar, Borealis and Bolletta (?) and enjoyed them our personal opinion (hard hat on) was that the food and service was better than P&O my husband says he has no interest in going on another P&O cruise after more than 25! I did introduce my daughter and grandson to P&O last year but my husband didn't go and I'm doing another in October with them never say never 😂 My husband and I have been on two Braemar which unfortunately has been sold it reminded us greatly of P&O Artemis which was a small ship. I never experienced any pompous passengers on FO and have meet some lovely people who we still keep in touch with as we had such good fun
  4. Avril, like your husband mine sleeps 7+hours no problem if he sleeps slightly less it's like the end of the world😂
  5. I'm also a member of this club! Go to sleep about midnight awake at 3 on a good night I manage 4 then toss around get up to the toilet(sometimes) to try and break the circle not working tonight/today come here to see if anyone has posted then play a game that sometimes makes me dose as it's repetitive. Anyway going to try and give it another go 😴 (I wish)
  6. We were on a ship with the hand washing basins and the woman in front of me nearly lost her rings she had to quickly put her hand in a fist! I used it after her but removed my rings for safety 😂
  7. Terrierjohn, I've got a colour printer but try to avoid using colour unless it's really necessary! Label wise I print them then use sellotape (helps make them waterproof) don't use a stapler just sellotape them on to the handles never had any problems have to cut them off though 😉
  8. That's good news about Ventura as I'm on in October. I had booked first sitting but Daughter wants freedom! So I have obeyed and changed it 😂😂
  9. Azura, lots of 7 night cruises so the cabin you might want for 14nights may already be booked for one of the weeks. We met a few couples on previous occasions that wanted 14 nights on a cruise but could only book two seven nights back to back hope you understand what I mean
  10. Selbourne, Thank you for your updates I've read them all 🙂 I also look forward to your thoughts on Iona as I have seen a cruise on her that would fit in with my Daughter and Grandson (he's well behaved!) We were on Britannia last year and on Ventura in October and I'm silently hoping it's not going to be "old Fashioned" I have been on Ventura many times pre "C" fingers crossed for me!
  11. Ha Ha, that's your story and your sticking to it Joking!
  12. We were phoned about two weeks before our cruise at the end of April and asked if we were interested in a paid upgrade. We accepted and we were given a choice of cabins, we went from a sea view to a junior suite. We done it partly because we were on deck two so a late embarkation which my husband hates so upgrading gave us priority (noon)
  13. We got ours under the bed without a problem
  14. At the end of October I shared a cabin with my daughter & grandson who had never cruised before I am Caribbean level and although they had a later time like your husband they boarded with me and enjoyed the welcome on board lunch! (I phoned to check) and she thought it was great 🙂
  15. We were on Britannia in October and had a standard balcony cabin, it had a small sofa bed which was made up every evening when we went for dinner.
  16. We like the train excursion on St Kitts it's an old sugar train goes round the island and there are singers who come on and entertain the train carriage and of course loved the cocktails that you get 😂
  17. Yes to both. We've been on Borealis twice and enjoyed both cruise. We booked before departure "Colour& Taste" fine dining £10pp, (£15pp on board) was excellent
  18. We were on Boletta (?) at the end of April no problems that we were aware of had a great time.
  19. I used to take a different outfit for every evening and day but I now double up. As lincslady mentioned I don't remember what others have worn unless it's a standout piece (not always good) and we don't use fixed dinning now so even if we share it's with different people.I have also cut back on the amount of shoes etc I would take 😂😂 makes things easier
  20. My grandson (4yr) was asked if he would like one from a lady on Britannia last year and he was very happy he got to choose which one he liked. He took it home and still has it on a shelf in his bedroom 🙂 It was their first cruise and very excited about it all so much we're doing another in October again! I don't think they do any more harm than other things and certainly made our young grandson happy
  21. Thank you for posting your review, I found it interesting as I shall be on Ventura in October.
  22. Josy, you'll need to get an electric bike that'll help with any hills 😂
