We just stayed in Explorer Suite 1008 the previous review said it was noisy and they won't book it again. While we got a very good last-minute upgrade, so we didn't overpay for the room, we found it to be very nice and not noisy at all. Granted it was a bad weather cruise so we may have been lucky the pool deck wasn't busy. Well worth what we paid.

I tried to post a review but can't find it. We have been sailing Radison/Regent for 20 years. Many of the recent reviews I've read recently were negative. We found the food and service to be up the standard we expect from Regent The weather wasn't good but that's not Regent's problem. We upgraded to an Explorer suite at the last minute and found it to be very nice and not noisy as the review said. We will continue to sail with Regent as long as the pricing is competitive,

IS THE NAVIGATOR ONE OF THE POOR RELATIONS
chuckw replied to difranco's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We have more time on the Navigator than the other ships, though we do like the Explorer, including a couple of 26-day cruises. We much prefer it to the Voyager or Mariner. We will be doing the Transatlantic in November and hope it stays around for another trip. -
Alaska weather changes often, having lived there and cruised there several times, I recommend you check the weather forecast before you decide what to pack.

Sorry to hear, we sailed with him several time, always a gentleman.

We were on Celebrity in May. the shuttle works pretty well and we, in our 70's walked one way.

Looking forward to the review of your Tokyo to Bangkok cruise, we had to cancel at the las minute because of family illness. -
Self indulgent question! Miso sea bass ...
chuckw replied to Jane Mitchell's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
The miso black cod is better than the sea bass but we've only had it in Pacific Rim. Both worth eating. -
The shower in the Penthouse on Explorer is the best ever. The bathtub only on the Mariner is not usable for us seniors the stepover is too high.

A Quintessential Crossing on the Mariner - Live!
chuckw replied to vitacura's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Thanks for a great trip report, we enjoy crossings and looking forward to ours next year. -
We're flying to Toyko in November from Seattle and took a $1300 per person upgrade for a nonstop on Japan Air. We were charged the $75 fee but it was refunded since we're Platinum. Seemed expensive but with current flying issues it seemed the way to go.

Live from…Z and TB’s Scandinavian Escapade

Looking forward to your travels, I've enjoyed a beverage or two with you at the pool bar, -
We were recently on the Solstice, we have over 400 nights at sea, including Regent Seven Seas, and our meal at Murano was one of the best ever, Well worth doing.
-
Just off Solstice, $30 won't go very far at Sushi on Five.
-
Just got off the Solstice in a royal suite, the service and food was very good, however 3000 passengers doesn't compare with 750. We enjoyed our cruise but sure our next cruise on the Explorer in only a concierge suite will be better We have over 200 nights on Regent and almost a hundred on Celebrity. Compare prices on what is included and Regent can be a better value.

Tax on drinks for Alaska Cruise??
chuckw replied to the_scarecrow_in_oz's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Times change, I remember a cruise from Houston, a few years ago, when you could only buy Texas brewed beer until we reached international waters -
We have over 90 nights on her and have booked another cruise for 2024. book forward and as low as you can stand, deck 5 or 6 is our preferred,
-
We have over 200 nights on Regent, from window suites on the Navigator to penthouse suites on the Explorer. While we still cruise on Celebrity in an upper suite if we don't have to fly, you can't beat the all-inclusiveness of Regent. Our next cruise with them is to Asia, it looks expensive, when you factor in the business air and pre cruise hotel it's competitive and we enjoy the smaller ships and the quality of service. We have cruised post covid on the Explore and found it as good as ever.

Well said.

Thanks again, really enjoying your cruise, wish we were with you. -
Excellent comparison, we've never sailed Cunard, mostly Regent and Celebrity. May try Cunard.

Transatlantic Sea Day Activities
chuckw replied to Mystictraveler's topic in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
We've been on half dozen TA's, Regent and Celebrity. We enjoy the ship's activities and find it very relaxing, A few years ago we did a Mediterranean followed by a crossing on the Voyager and much preferred the sea days.
