  1. I enjoy these too. Hearing about the different areas of the ship and the responsibilities that come with working in those departments is very interesting.
  2. Thank you all for the information. November it is!
  3. Does anyone have any insight into when the offer will be extended past the end of 2024? Thanks!
  4. What was it that you didn't care for on your last HAL cruise and how long ago was it? Here is an excellent, recent Live From report
  5. I guess that makes sense if it was bought separately. Just like a separate shore excursion or dinner.
  6. None of it would be refundable at this point. I think the only thing you can do at this point is ask your TA or HAL and see if it would be possible to drop the HIA and pay for a cabin upgrade but I'm not optimistic.
  7. Our 18 day Chile to Tahiti cruise with overnights at Easter Island and Bora Bora was my favorite cruise! We enjoyed our time on Oceania, the many sea days were enjoyable with 2 or 3 lectures each day and wonderful cooking classes to choose from. But sharing it with our friends made it the best time we've had on a cruise! The stay on Moorea after the cruise made it one of our top trips of all time.
  8. Thank you, I will make contact sooner rather than later.
  9. We switched from a booked HAL cruise to an O cruise several years ago due to a comparable price and better itinerary on O (overnights at Easter Island & Bora Bora). I was very happy with our O cruise and would definitely sail with them again but I have not found a competitive price and good itinerary combination again. Classical music availability is not a consideration for us.
  10. Thanks again. I'm considering volunteering to organize for our January 2025 cruise. I haven't done that in a long time and wanted to verify the best procedures.
  11. CO is less expensive per day on longer cruises.
  12. Thanks, Jacqui! How far in advance to you contact the event coordinator?
  13. We are skipping HIA for our Adriatic cruise next year. It's a short cruise at 10 days with 2 sea days.. We have enough OBC to cover gratuities, laundry and beverages, and we don't care for ship excursion so the math doesn't make sense for us.
  14. Yes, about 20 million users per month.
  15. Living in a rural area I spend a lot of time in my car. Audio books and podcasts make the drive much more enjoyable. Definitely not the same as reading though. More like someone telling you a story.
  16. Following the link in the email the recommendations are grouped by region. Alaska - Braving It, Wild Journeys, A Shape in the Dark Seems a mix of fiction and nonfiction. First monthly book club selection is a James Patterson - no thanks!
  17. I don't think that's what's being offered. I don't think the content is being produced or written by HAL. It appears to be like other book clubs. Just recommendations of works published by others based on particular itineraries.
  18. I already have a subscription. I love audio books and never drive without one or a podcast. I'll have to see if I can access this. I like the idea of destination inspired content.
  19. Perhaps @POA1 or @Huskerchick could help with this. I seem to remember them ordering this wine.
  20. Here in Wisconsin, I have been working my way, segment by segment, thru the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Everyone says hi when you meet. In the more remote areas, most not only say hi but stop and chat for awhile about trail conditions, mileage etc. Most days on the remote sections you don't see anyone so it is nice to take a little break. Heading to Olympic NP next month. I'll make sure not to say hi to fellow hikers!
  21. It refers to actual days on the ship. It does not include the spending bonuses or suite bonuses that are used for the Star program.
