  1. Yes, about 20 million users per month.
  2. Living in a rural area I spend a lot of time in my car. Audio books and podcasts make the drive much more enjoyable. Definitely not the same as reading though. More like someone telling you a story.
  3. Following the link in the email the recommendations are grouped by region. Alaska - Braving It, Wild Journeys, A Shape in the Dark Seems a mix of fiction and nonfiction. First monthly book club selection is a James Patterson - no thanks!
  4. I don't think that's what's being offered. I don't think the content is being produced or written by HAL. It appears to be like other book clubs. Just recommendations of works published by others based on particular itineraries.
  5. I already have a subscription. I love audio books and never drive without one or a podcast. I'll have to see if I can access this. I like the idea of destination inspired content.
  6. Perhaps @POA1 or @Huskerchick could help with this. I seem to remember them ordering this wine.
  7. Here in Wisconsin, I have been working my way, segment by segment, thru the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Everyone says hi when you meet. In the more remote areas, most not only say hi but stop and chat for awhile about trail conditions, mileage etc. Most days on the remote sections you don't see anyone so it is nice to take a little break. Heading to Olympic NP next month. I'll make sure not to say hi to fellow hikers!
  8. It refers to actual days on the ship. It does not include the spending bonuses or suite bonuses that are used for the Star program.
  9. On our May cruise in Norway, at our Bergen port stop, the ship did wait about 20 minutes (?) for 2 people who were late getting back to the ship. It appeared they had been walking around town and not on a tour. We could see ship personnel watching and waiting for them at the port entrance. I will say both were walking pretty fast.
  10. Oh, I can relate to this! For me it's sunglasses😎
  11. Why do you not use your cabin card? I use my key card to enter the cabin and put it right in the slot. When I leave I take it out of the slot and go. Don't see how it could be any easier.
  12. I don't take any more for a 30 day trip than I do for a 7 day trip. A couple pairs of pants, a few shirts, a pair of flats or nicer sandals and a good pair of walking shoes, maybe a summery dress and a couple of scarves to dress up an outfit. Of course, underthings and whatever I'm wearing on the plane. It is weather dependent though, We do cold weather travel sometimes so a couple warmer layering items will added along with a hat and gloves. Appropriate outwear I can usually wear on the plane or I place my jacket inside my suitcase, opened, and pack all of my other items inside the jacket.
  13. The medallions are not related to the star program. They are for actual days sailed. We are also close to 4 star but nowhere near 100 days (Bronze medallion)
  14. Mayflower April 1,1620 (might have been August?) 😁
  15. There was not an attachment provided in the cabins/ships I have been on. I believe you are allowed to bring hair dryers.
  16. That stinks! I sure hope your onboard experience improves!
  17. When we have used Club Orange for the upgrade we were able to choose a specific cabin. That is, to us, the main benefit of CO. Were you not able to pick your cabin?
  18. Did you just try asking the person, nicely, if they could take their call away from the table?
  19. I recommend looking at some of the Live From threads here. Many of them post copies of the daily activities listings. This may help you see what's offered. Try finding one for a similar itinerary that you are interested in. Grand, Legendary, and World cruises are going to have many more offerings than shorter cruises so don't use those for comparisons.
  20. The blurb for Cantare is "Don orange attire, enjoy specialty cocktails and dance to the hits". 🫤 I would take this into consideration when setting expectations.
  21. Aside from the Caribbean and Alaska 7 day cruises, most of the areas on HAL ships are a nice quiet place to relax.
  22. I'd say for a 9 day cruise, balcony, with HIA $3000 is a good price. Maybe not an awesome bargain but pretty good! Have a wonderful trip!
  23. Such beautiful photos! Your tour of Cartagena looks like a good one.
