    Boarding times are assigned on HAL. It might not be assigned until a couple of weeks before sailing.

    Welcome! If you could share your ship and sailing date I can direct you to the Roll Call for your cruise. That is the place on Cruise Critic where people on a particular sailing can connect for shared excursions and what not. It's also a good place to discuss ideas about DIY in ports and pre & post cruise plans at embarkation cities.

    Online the ship is listed as having a crew of 1036. So it doesn't sound like they are fully staffed.

    We will be in Flam and Alesund on Constitution Day and Ascension Days this year. Will museums, shops, restaurants be open?

    Oh definitely! I never bring a hair dryer on our trips. I was just pointing out that they aren't banned like clothes irons or coffee makers.

    I don't think there is any ban on hair dryers. You cannot use them in the bathroom due to the type of plug but otherwise I believe they are allowed.

    Nice! Much closer to my age group than the music BB Kings play. Although I had a lot of fun at the BB Kings' show, it was closer to my parents music.

    Are they requiring people to sign for drinks? I've seen reports that they are on some ships. If when presented with the slip to sign for drinks or specialty restaurants, and the charge is wrong, can you just refuse to sign the receipt?

    Well, of course. If I want a higher quality of food , I expect to pay more for it. I get it, it didn't used to be that way. My choices are accept it, complain about it or move on.

    Seeing I eat the same couple of things at breakfast, everyday at home, I'm betting it will be enough to keep us happy too!

    We did but that was on a non Pinnacle class ship where there was not a separate CO dinning room.

    When our cruise was canceled, a month before the sail date, we were not offered anything besides a future cruise credit with a bonus amount, in addition to our cruise fare. Nothing was offered for airfare losses. We kept our air plans and changed our trip to a land vacation and had a wonderful trip. Would that be a possibility for you?

    Monteverde is our favorite place in Costa Rica! The birding is fantastic there. We were lucky enough to see a Quetzel on our first visit.
