  1. RCI has pretty much turned into Carnival. Celebrity is becoming (has become?) what RCI used to be. Just my opinion.
  2. I am assuming in your case departed from somewhere in the US and disembarked in San Juan. Puerto Rico just happens to be exempt from the PVSA until such time as a US flagged ship resumes passenger operations between the US and Puerto Rico, assuming after 2003. It is possible in your case you were not charged for anything as you actually did not violate any laws.
  3. Objection! Assuming the US, the accused exercised his right to the fifth amendment. He would be blabbing away having exercised the first.... Now The Honorable @Baggy178 may dismiss the case All rise.... 😈
  4. You will just pay the difference on beers. Look at the very bottom of that list you posted, you will see the disclaimer that Classic covers drinks up to $9 and Premium covers drinks up to $15. That list you posted is just an "example" of what drinks are currently "completely covered as to cost" as of the date of that publication.
  5. But I just threw some pop-corn in the microwave......... 😁
  6. Question is was he at USA parking when they were cooking their books?
  7. Next time you are on a ship and have access to the "helicopter pad" on a ship, look at the weight ratings stamped on it. Most likely has 10,000 lbs (or less) stamped on it. Those coast guard, rescue, or medical choppers are usually greater than that (There might be a few short range that squeak under that, I think the short range Dolphin does). Most choppers are incapable of landing on the pads due to weight. Also, the bow is the worst place to try and land a helicopter, especially on a moving ship. Landing is much more dangerous than sending down a basket and winching, even if landing was possible.
  8. Is it a closed loop cruise that allows travel with just BC and ID? Are your sons under 16? Over 16 may require photo ID along with BC. But as @irishgal432 noted, bridging documents may be required.
  9. If you upgrade to the Elite package non-alcoholic will no longer count against your 15, with the added benefit of upgrading the wines available (or other drinks). Might be a $5 or $10 a day difference.
  10. Serenade, Brilliance, Jewel since restart and the 6:45 start time. If we showed up at 6:30 there was no line and we were seated quickly. 6:45 to 7 was a longer line and a little bit more of a wait. So even though reservations start at 6:45, it appeared there were plenty of free tables from either no shows or the first seating having mostly cleared out by then. Granted it's been a year since the Jewel cruise as we did Princess for Alaska this year.
  11. I don't pay for the Retreat so I don't have to cruise with the washed non-masses! I want to be with my unwashed masses party people! You are just not having fun until you have a nice collection of varying alcoholic beverages decorating your shirt! 😈
  12. I was on a 7 night Infinity cruise when Ian came through last year. Itinerary was altered, as we were due in Belize and Cozumel at the time the storm was coming up between Cuba and the Yucatan. On the plus side, we had power, food, drinks, etc on the ship vs no power for 3 days at our house in the Daytona area. I considered it a pretty big win 🤪. Ian left a trail of misery in Florida
  13. You are in a suite. Don't bother with a midnight check-in unless you just happen to be up. I've never had an issue getting an 11 am check-in time on any cruise line the actual morning it opens at 8 am or so. Not sure how you are getting from Disney to the ship, but 417 to 528 to the port is typically only an hour and 15 minutes without driving crazy. On a Monday you will at least be going the opposite way of most traffic once you hit 417. 417 is a toll road though, not sure how it works without a sunpass nowadays. I always plan on arriving at 11, even in a JS, usually no waiting to get on the ship at that point, and if the USGC decides to muck things up with an inspection, the wait isn't as long. So enjoy a Disney breakfast, and just plan on leaving Disney at 9:30 or so and you will be getting on the ship plenty early even if you catch some traffic.
  14. That gap has already been closed and opened the other way for those of us who typically do balconies and mini-suites.
  15. They can probably make it to Cozumel in about 24 hours at 22 knots, assuming 2 hours to clear Tampa Bay. At 24 knots they can do it in 22 hours. So maybe a 5-6 pm into Cozumel with a midnight or or 2 am dept. Not sure how late Cozumel stays open. All three of my cruises there have been canceled or rerouted, so have never actually made it there. Serenades top speed is listed as 25 knots, I think the fasted I have seen her go is about 22 knots while onboard.
  16. The cone is the forecast track plus a certain distance on either side to account for an amount of error based on the forecast period. It will narrow from about 210 miles wide to 50 miles wide from 3 days out to 1 day out (actual distance may vary based on forecast confidence). The cone came about due to concern people were focusing on the forecast line they used to use, assuming they were out of the range of forecast error. So even if the actual forecast track does not change by much, the cone will. Now there is debate on the effectiveness of the cone as some people believe the cone to be the area that will be affected by the storm, not the storm forecast track plus error. Here is the archive link of the cone plus line from 5 days out, they did pretty good with this one. Notice the forecast track (line) is pretty consistent as far as track (yeah time and intensity will always be off a little), and the cone narrows as to the landfall position as it gets closer. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/archive/2023/IDALIA_graphics.php?product=5day_cone_with_line

  18. Gale force is 34 knots/39 mph. Predicted winds are Max 25 mph. Interesting call.
  19. The sky may be blue during the day, or may be pinkish, gray, or other assorted colors . At night it is black. Brown bears are very versatile in their habitat, and may be found in woods, mountains, deserts, tundra's, and plains. Water is not wet, it however will make other objects wet. So maybe or no to a sale?
  20. Sailed on Rotterdam March 2022 with my then 22 year old daughter. She really enjoyed it, even with the lack of a flowrider . It is a beautiful, well laid out ship, that will compare quite nicely to any mass market ship that is not the resort style (such as Oasis class). If you are looking for an Oasis class type of ship, HAL won't have it. I was quite surprised that at mid 50's I was probably on the back half of the age demographic on that sailing, even though I saw very few under 30. It took me a few days to find where they were hiding the butter in the Buffet area. Once I found it, it was always there (forget where it was, maybe by the condiments). We had the Premium (premier?) beverage package, so non-alcoholic drinks did not count towards the limit. Think it was $5 a day more, but we had it as an addon with grats, OBC, specialty dinner, wifi, and I think shore excursion credits. We were on a Caribbean sailing, so excursion cost were about the same as RCG through the ship. We always do some on on own, but usually do one or two through the ship (OBC or Credits to use up). We were in a Vista suite, a slightly larger cabin than the typical RCL balcony, but not as big as most of Royal's junior suites. But I was paying 1K less than the Royal balcony sailings at that time. I found the food a step up from Royal, more in line with Celebrity or Princess. I wear long pants out to dinner even on land, so I have no issue not being able to wear shorts. But I am comfortable in pants anytime the temp is below 78, and at 75 would be cold in shorts. I have no problem respecting the wishes of the cruise line to maintain whatever standard they desire for their restaurants, whether it is shorts like RCL and Carnival or long pants on the slightly more upscale lines. I agree with you that HAL is probably not the best line for kids .It is much more adult orientated, which also shows in the nightly entertainment. It's hard to beat royal's production shows, and nothing touches the Ice shows in my opinion. We found the aft pool was the place to be. Had a pretty lively party atmosphere most of the time. By all means try an Oasis class. I'm not sure there is anything that can even compare afloat right now (yes, Icon is coming). Everyone should try an Oasis class at least once, especially with the age of your kids. HAL is really geared for an adult crowd, not kids, from what I saw with my one cruise with them. But they are on my radar (along with RCL, Celebrity, and Princess) when looking for a future cruise.
  21. And the people in the cabins around you will also use it to find their cabin....
  22. I think that date is still a week or so before most if not all spring break dates for 2025. Not sure I would change plans because of spring break/families for that cruise.
  23. From what I have seen the Florida schools spring breaks are in the latter half of March in 2025, both college and K-12. So any spring breakers will be from out of state, and Celebrity is not the line of choice for college age. There might be a few extra families onboard, but would not expect many that early in March. I was on a mid-March Hal cruise in 2022 and saw very few kids or college students. Later end of March and first few weeks of April , especially on 3-4 nighters vs week or longer, sees the biggest spring break/families increase.
