  1. You are so right!! That would drive me into the depths of despair...and take a double dose of blood pressure meds 🥺
  2. This phrase and its variations always puts me in a foul mood. All the cruise lines use it and it is just insulting. Just a couple months ago I got a missive from X informing me that our stop in Key West would be an hour and a half shorter. It started with the same phrase. Somehow, less time in a beautiful port enhances my experience?? Not near as serious as this NCL Antarctica thing, but the mindset is the same. Something that nobody wants is presented as in the best interest of the patron. And I certainly agree...honesty is the best policy.
  3. Off topic: I kinda wonder where you'll be tendering to in Lahaina on Day 16...will anything be rebuilt by then?? We'll be visiting Maui this coming October...and we'll be avoiding the area...we have spent sooo much time there over the last 30 years that we just can't bear to see the area now...not sure if we'll ever recover from the shock...no matter what is built...
  4. Here's a long list of Spring Breaks of colleges in the US...just a few in early April...most done by the end of March... https://www.ststravel.com/college-spring-break-dates Enjoy your cruise!
  5. Thanks very much for this...it just so happens that we are particularly interested in Cagney's and La Cucina...
  6. A 3-meal package came with my October booking but the details are murky (or I just didn't find it...). I am on the Sun and it appears that many of the specialty dining establishments (La Cucina for example) are a la carte rather than a set cover charge. How does the package cover a la carte charges? Some set limit of how much one can order in those places? Something like that? If someone can point me to that kind of detail or can answer from their experience, I would appreciate it. (I know I could call in but I'm reserving that first encounter with NCL support for another day 😁. I've found that the CC knowledge pool is usually my best chance for an accurate answer!) Thanks and Happy Cruising!
  7. Thanks for posting this...it reminded me I needed to sign up for my April cruise!!
  8. I just wouldn't risk it...for whatever reason. Kicking the proverbial can down the road is only netting a rather short and temporary benefit. While losing the cruise has a lasting effect... Besides, I would be wondering if I could rely on the answer from the support person...how many of us have called in and gotten different answers for the same question?? Just my own opinion...
  9. Late to this party!! A belated Happy Birthday to you!! You're doing a great job...loving this review...
  10. You got me...never been on Viking. Truly 80+??? Wow...
  11. Never, ever been on a cruise with any line where 80+ age was a majority...not even close...
  12. Thanks for posting this, Jim! Always good to have heads-up on any changes... Kinda stresses the importance of having travel insurance in place...
  13. Same here! April can't come soon enough!
  14. Duh...I somehow missed 10 and 25...thanks... I should have added that this sentence in the General Terms at also added to my paranoia...lol... https://www.celebritycruises.com/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade The Upgrade will not be eligible to receive any promotions or benefits that are applicable to the stateroom had it been originally booked at that stateroom category.
  15. Sorry...I posted that I am referring to an upgrade from a SS to a EV...
  16. I only quoted you because you used both terms which are where I'm having some discomfort about. Amenity and Perk. But my concern is the same as others...even after wading thru the various threads, because the wording is (the sentence where you must click the box before submitting your offer): I acknowledge that I will keep the same amenities that I have on my current booking; no additional amenities will be added as the result of my upgrade (except for bids into Royal, Edge Villa, Penthouse, Reflection and Iconic Suites, which will receive amenity inclusion of the Premium Beverage Package and Premium Wifi). Implying, it would seem, that I keep the amenities of my SS and get no additional amenities in the EV. (except the Premium stuff I already have...which they point out specifically without mentioning any other ones...) Appearing to say that I don't get the reserved theater seats, the laundry, unlimited specialty dining, etc. I know other posters have said they did get them, and I believe them, but this wording bothers me...and with all the changes, my trust is lacking... Now it makes no sense that one wouldn't get the extra bennies in a Move Up...because I certainly wouldn't pay *that* much more for the extra room and such...I just would like the wording to be a little more succinct... Something like: If you are placing an offer to move up from an SS (or CS?) to a RS, EV, PS, or IC, you get all the amenities (perks?) of the upper suite except the CC points. Instead they say you get no additional amenities. Accentuating the negative instead of the positive... Yeah, I'm probably overthinking this... ETA: Yes, I know the quote pertained to an upgrade to an SS from an IV...
  17. I'm sorry but I'm using Windows on my laptop. But I did find these links for the Mac... https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/share-internet-connection-mac-network-users-mchlp1540/mac#:~:text=On your Mac%2C choose Apple, may need to scroll down.)&text=Turn on Internet Sharing%2C then click Turn On to confirm. https://setapp.com/how-to/share-wifi-from-mac Hope these are of use to you...
  18. Sure. However, I bring a laptop to use as my hotspot...I've had 4 devices attached to that hotspot with no issues...my phone, a firestick, a fire tablet and my paperwhite reader...
  19. Yeah, I get that...but if something is 14.99 and it increases to 24.99...well, we're not talking about $2... ETA: To be clear, I don't really have a horse in this race...I always get the package...but I feel for the standard folks...
  20. An...interesting...way to look at it. However, it is still a 66% increase...
  21. Looks like I'll be calling Captain's Club...no sign of points anywhere...
  22. Still haven't got mine...history or otherwise... 🥺
  23. Sorry, I don't see why I should have to change my location and/or adjust my dining expectations because of someone else's lack of respect towards others. If I am going to change my location, it will only be to go out the door never to return to that venue during that cruise. You may be sure that I will then hunt down whomever is necessary to assure I get a credit on my account.
