Thanks, yes, I know that. But that is after I've actually booked. Sorry if I wasn't clear...on the website it used to be part of the process of booking a cruise. After you entered your info (names, etc), you used to be prompted for transfers, then prompted if you wanted their vacation cancellation protection. That way you got the total price before hitting the payment screen. The last two steps having not been showing up when I've been checking out itineraries...

Sorry if I missed a thread on this... Lately when I've been researching fares for various itineraries, I am never asked if I want coverage for my booking (I am also never asked if I want any transfers to/from anywhere...). After filling in our info, it goes directly to the Pay Deposit screen. Is Princess not pushing its insurance anymore? Is the crack IT team at it again?? Or is this just some user error...lol. Anyone else notice this?? Or am I just special and they don't want to charge me...😀

The last 3 times I tried using chat, that was also my result. I would get down to 0, get asked if I was still waiting and then would never get anything after that. The third time was the last time. I'm done with that...it's obviously busted or just for show... ETA: Oh, and I notice we're from the same place!! Nice to meet another Earthling! 😃

I had precisely the same experience in an airport recently...DW and I just laughed...like we're going to tip a machine?? A truly sad state of affairs for sure...

Yep, do see this from time to time over the last month or so. And it happens at strange times. For example, I'll be looking at excursions on my cruise...then go to my order history to check the price I paid for an excursion (yeah, looking for a drop...), then go back to the main reservation page and click on Mange my Reservation on that cruise...and find it's locked. Then I just log out and come back later... Interestingly, it doesn't happen all the time. The only other time I've seen it locked was when I was working with a support rep...they had made a change and after I hung up, the reservation was locked...but this is normal...

Sorry, I'm paranoid...I do the payment and do it well before the final date. I have had enough 'close calls' in other things that shouldn't have happened but did. Not ever going to take the risk of losing my cruise due to some funky happenstance. And believe me, I'm a technocrat...lol...

Yes, there was a huge thread about the complete screw-up around the cruises involving Japan. Actually more than one...just horrendous...there was also some mention of double bookings for the same staterooms...cabins weren't designated as unavailable or some such thing. Nasty...I'm pretty sure a lot of folks on here remember that one...and many were affected...

Like cruisestitch mentioned, I've seem other threads on this sort of craziness with FBC. I, too, have been avoiding FBC because of this (and other) type of issue. And frankly I doubt they've lifted a finger to try and fix it...

Well, David, as I posted earlier, we missed Singapore...but you have renewed my planning for going there. DW was in total agreement...especially after all the great pics...lol. It may not be a cruise, but we are sure going to try to stay at that Marriot! But then again, it may be a cruise. Can't thank you enough... -David (no mistake, that is my name, too...) ETA: Not to mention my DW, whom I call the Orchid Lady, has a vast collection of orchids...can't tell you how many shelves, etc, indoors and out I have built!!

As others have stated, I will not book a cruise when I can't choose a stateroom. End of story.
