  1. Be comfortable with whatever your dress decision may be.
  2. Of course. Even on "formal nights".
  3. Precisely the definitive word from Princess we've been looking for that makes it official!! ๐Ÿ˜€
  4. I'm excited about the announcement from the Government of Canada and hopeful, not skeptical, that Princess will follow suit. My point is that the initial announcement from Princess was less that confidence inspiring.
  5. Today's announcement by Princess is more of an "aren't we incredible while we take you to incredible places" statement. The fact that they may or may not require pre-boarding testing for sailings departing Canada is barely addressed. The implication is that testing may no longer be required but it's certainly not stated as fact. We will be watching for a definitive statement from Princess.

  7. I apologize. I thought that information was in my post but I must have been overly eager with my editing. This is for the 11.14.22 sailing (28 days) with embarkation at Civitavecchia. Voyage # 2221A
  8. Well, apparently even this has now changed. Just this minute I received the following email from Princess: Important update regarding your Booking #XXXXXX Dear BG, our valued guest, We're looking forward to welcoming you for your upcoming Princess Cruises vacation and wanted to provide an important update. We continue to refine our guidelines for these voyages and wanted to advise of the latest guidelines for your voyages. Just to recap, here are the required guidelines for your upcoming voyage: Since your voyage visits Greece, guests 5 years and above must be fully vaccinated and up to date, which means you are at least 14 days past completion of a primary vaccine series and no more than 270 days (9 months) from the date of disembarkation since receiving the last dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine. A booster dose is required for guests 18 and older if the last COVID-19 vaccine dose in series is older than 9 months (270 days) from the date of disembarkation. Please remember to upload your proof of vaccination into our MedallionClassยฎ app while getting OceanReadyยฎ. Fully vaccinated guests are not required to test. Guests 5 years of age and over not fully vaccinated must contact us to request a vaccination exception to be presented upon embarkation and are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test (Self-administered Antigen OR Medically assisted Antigen or PCR) taken within 3 days prior to boarding. Additional information on our onboard guidelines can be found at our CruiseHealth site. You will be receiving additional information on your voyage as the sail date approaches. Of course, should you have any questions or require additional information, please contact us. We realize vacations are precious and our shipboard team is ready to help you create a lifetime of memories with your friends, families and loved ones. We canโ€™t wait to welcome you on board!
  9. Am I the only one who finds this odd? Why in blazes would Greece or any country for that matter care what one's health status is when leaving their country?? Entering the country? Sure. A real and valid concern. But leaving? Why???
  10. No, I think Carnival is a better fit for you. Certainly no disrespect intended. Just trying to be helpful. Enjoy your cruise!
  11. I take it then that you view it as a bad thing. Pity. Well, there's always Carnival.com
  12. Always going to be a few alarmists in every crowd.
  13. The logic of the Canadian government requiring a test, any test for a cruise that is leaving Canada escapes me. Arriving? Sure. The cruise line requiring a test for boarding? Sure. But why would Canada care about testing someone who is leaving the country and therefore clearly taking any infection they have with them? I'd love to hear opinions on this. Clearly there is something I'm missing.
  14. And even fewer on a Princess sailing. Bring your best lame logic game with you today are you?
  15. Sweeping seat of the pants estimate of numbers in a futile attempt to justify a skewed point of view. What a guy.
  16. Or maybe they are simply enjoying themselves and don't give a rip what the self-important "I'm better than you" crowd think.
  17. Outstanding on the negative tests!! And thank you for starting this thread. Lots of good information has been exchanged since your first post. ๐Ÿค™

    MSC App

As I understand it, the MSC app (MSC for Me) is available on the Smart Ships in the fleet. We are sailing next on the Orchestra which is obviously not one of the Smart Ships. For ships like the Orchestra, is there any kind of electronic aid available during the cruise? Another "app style" product, perhaps?
  19. You've spent a lot of time and effort on this and for that......THANK YOU! And I completely agree with your conclusions. Even Princess seems to be getting this wrong. Below is an email I received from Princess on September 8 regarding this cruise. I've highlighted the errant part. Important update regarding your Booking #xxxxxx Dear xxxxxx, our valued guest, Welcome! We're thrilled that you have chosen Princess Cruises for your upcoming cruise vacation. We can't wait to help you create those "only on Princess" moments. We wanted to take a moment to clarify some important information regarding your cruise. Please be advised that because your ship arrives, departs or visits Canada, Canadian testing and vaccination guidelines apply. Here are the specific protocols for your upcoming voyage: You must be fully vaccinated, which means you have received all the doses in an authorized or approved primary COVID-19 vaccine series at least 14 days prior to embarkation. Please remember to upload your proof of vaccination while getting OceanReady. Children under 12 years of age do not need to be vaccinated. All guests ages 5 and above on voyages that depart from, arrive to or visit Canada will require a medically observed, negative viral COVID-19 test taken before boarding (antigen within 2 days or PCR within 72 hours). In addition to the health questionnaire that should be completed as you get OceanReady on the MedallionClass app, within 72 hours of embarkation the Canadian government requires all guests (including Canadian residents) to sign into ArriveCAN from a computer or download the mobile app to enter your proof of vaccination and travel information. You will receive an ArriveCAN receipt. Please bring a digital copy of the email or print the receipt to bring with you when you travel. If your cruise embarks in Canada and you do not reside in Canada, you will need an additional ArriveCAN receipt separate from your land/air arrival receipt, which you can complete after your arrival into Canada. Additional information on our onboard guidelines can be found at our CruiseHealth site.
  20. This is the Gold Star post for the entire matter. Please save and repost whenever the subject arises again. Which it will, ad infinitum. ๐Ÿฟ
  21. Interesting topic. As @Jersey42cleverly pointed out, once one arrives in Canada, for example by air on Monday, how can one then "arrive again" in Canada on Wednesday to board a cruise ship. Seems to me that once one has arrived in Canada, they have arrived. One and done. Unless, of course, as in my example above one leaves Canada on Tuesday for a quick trip over the border to the US.๐Ÿค”
  22. Winnings? Those really exist? Who knew.
  23. Yes, however further down in the same section is the following: Choose the scenario below that best fits your cruise plans: Starting an international cruise in Canada or arriving by cruise from another countryCruises that are staying in Canadian waters or not returning to Canada All travellers are required to take a pre-embarkation COVID-19 test before embarking on a cruise in Canada, even if the cruise ship is not leaving Canadian waters Travellers who are staying within Canada throughout their entire journey or who are leaving Canada and not returning donโ€™t have to complete ArriveCAN. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise
