  1. My parents stayed at my house and took care of my first born who was 6 months at the time while DH and I had 5 days in Hawaii. Awesome trip! If there is family you would trust, that's an option. I have to say the first born was miffed with me for half a day when I returned. Little stinkeršŸ„°She's now 22 and doesn't show signs of post trauma from the Hawaii trip experience. Congrats on your upcoming baby. Someone said it's like having your heart go walking around outside of your body šŸ˜Š
  2. I'm Platinum and I accessed my stateroom around 11:15am. I quickly changed into my swimsuit and sandals and put my clothes that I wore at embarkation into a drawer. Not smart. I had informed a room attendant of my stateroom number and that I left my backpack in the closet. My actual stateroom attendant took my embarkation clothes out of the drawer and put it in a bag to be taken to lost and found. Fortunately I came back to the room around 1:30 and the clothes were returned. So lesson learned, if you change clothes put them in your backpack/luggage so the attendant doesn't think they were left by the previous cruiser. šŸ˜œ
  3. Definitely check out Emeril's! I had a muffuletta sandwich big enough for two and it was delish! For bfast I had Banana Fosters crepes. So good!! I wish we would have skipped ChiBang and had more meals at Emeril's. Also, go to Big Chicken! Best chicken sandwich and we had bfast there as well. Super tasty!! There's gelato on Lido (near the shwarma station, kinda hidden) and Street Eats changes daily and is a tasty treat! Have a great cruise!!
  4. Like a previous poster stated, maybe the SC Governor will step in (like the Florida one did for Key West) and rule that cruise ships can port in Charleston. I hope so...
  5. Right! I know I'll be able to spend my gift card money on one of my five upcoming Carnival cruises, if need be.
  6. Closer than Jacksonville, FL for me so I'd be good to go!šŸ˜ƒ
  7. Shoot, I hope chia pudding is still available! One of my favs on SeaDay Brunch!
  8. I had 2 Alchemy bartenders recognize me from a cruise I took with my DH in January to a cruise I took with my mom in April. They asked me where my DH was and I said "someone needs to stay home and work". I appreciate all the hard work and remembering of names that the Carnival staff does.
  9. It's easier to add the tip to the receipt but I think I will carry singles with me for next cruise. I always tip out in cash (on top of pre-paid gratuities) to my room steward and MDR staff so why not tip my favorite bartenders in cash?šŸ˜„
  10. Is it a "vaccination" like listed above or a therapeutic, like a flu shot? Could that be why people get confused about the "efficacy" of the Covid shots and boosters? I know I was confused when the "vaccine" was introduced.
  11. I would love to hear about your Pride cruise this October! If you do a review, please post a link here. Thanks!!
  12. I order gift cards through Allstate Insurance. You don't have to have insurance with Allstate (though we do) just establish an account. There is a thread here that regularly posts codes that add points to your account. Search CC for Allstate. Using said codes you can build points (plus once a day you can check into Allstate rewards and get 50 points) and when you have accumulated 1000 points (I know it sounds like a lot but the codes can be worth 2000 a time) you can purchase a Carnival gift card worth $1000 for $900. Let me know if you have more questions. I wish I would have known about this a couple years agošŸ¤‘
  13. On Pride out of Rome next October! Thanks for posting your review!
  14. My PVP confirmed that we do not have to test for our 5 day cruise to the Bahamas on Sept 3, 2022. I looked at the "Have Fun. Be Safe" protocols on Carnival's website and this is how it's defined (yellow highlighting is mine). 5 day cruises from August 5 through September 5 have the following protocol: PROTOCOLS FOR CRUISES DEPARTING THROUGH SEPTEMBER 5, 2022 We will continue to operate vaccinated cruises with our enhanced protocols. All our operations will follow these guidelines so we can maintain the confidence of the destinations we visit and deliver on our itineraries and guest experience. As the COVID-19 situation evolves, we will adjust our protocols based on the advice of our medical and public health advisors. Below are the measures currently planned for our vaccinated cruises. Guests sailing from Australia, please visit the Australia Have Fun. Be Safe. page for protocols specific to those cruises. BOOKING All guests should carefully review pre-booking and pre-travel health advice on our website. PRE-BOARDING INFORMATION: In order to manage our vaccinated sailings, it is very important for all guests to complete their pre-cruise vaccine attestation. Guests are asked to update their profile on Carnival.com with their current contact information as we will be communicating through a series of emails. Please read all our correspondence and complete all requests for pre-boarding information on a timely basis. VACCINATION & TESTING STANDARDS FULLY VACCINATED GUESTS VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS Vaccinated cruises are available for guests who have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the sailing day (not counting embarkation day) and have proof of vaccination. While the CDC has strongly recommended that individuals obtain a COVID-19 booster vaccination, when eligible, for the purposes of Carnival's protocols, the definition of ā€œfully vaccinatedā€ does not generally include reference to a booster except when explicitly stated. Boosters may be required for specific voyages based on duration or destination requirements. The following voyages require guests, age 12 and older, to be fully vaccinated. In addition, all guests, age 18 and older, who are more than 6 months past the last dose of their initial vaccine series must be boosted (if eligible) in order to sail: Carnival PrideĀ® and Carnival Celebrationā„¢ Europe - All 2022 departures Carnival SplendorĀ® 23-day Carnival Journey (Transpacific) - September 6, 2022 Carnival SpiritĀ® 16-day Carnival Journey (Panama Canal) - September 20, 2022 Guests must present an original vaccination record issued by the country's health authority (i.e., U.S. CDC's Vaccination Record Card). A digital COVID-19 Certificate (QR code), a record of COVID-19 vaccination from a healthcare provider (original digital email), and a personal electronic health record or government Immunization Information System record is also acceptable. Copies or photos are not accepted. The name and birth date on the vaccination record must match the guest's travel documents. The vaccination dates must indicate the guest has completed the required doses no later than 14 days prior to the sailing date (not including embarkation day). Vaccine type, dates administered, and lot numbers must be clearly visible. When required, booster dose must also be reflected on vaccination records. We recommend guests have the contact information of the healthcare provider or clinic site that issued the certificate, in order to validate the vaccination record, if needed. A vaccination registry site may also be used. TESTING REQUIREMENTS (UPDATED 8/05/22) CRUISES 5 DAYS OR LESS Except for sailings visiting Bermuda (see below), there will be no pre-cruise testing for fully vaccinated guests booked on cruises with itineraries 5 days or less. Due to destination requirements, ALL guests on itineraries that include Bermuda must complete a pre-cruise test, irrespective of the length of the cruise. To comply with destination regulations, guests may take either a PCR or an antigen test within the timelines specified below: A PCR test within 72 hours prior to sailing (for example, if the sailing is on Saturday, the test may be taken any time from Wednesday). An antigen test no earlier than two days prior to sailing (for example, if the sailing is on Saturday, the test may be taken any time from Thursday).
  15. I don't know the answer to your question, but that sounds like a great deal!
  16. I thought the same thing. If you read the "Have Fun. Be Safe" protocols on Carnival's website it's defined differently. From the Carnival website (I added the yellow). My PVP confirmed that 5 day cruises after August 4 do not need to test for Covid as long as that cruise doesn't go to Bermuda or Canada. 17. I have similar issues with my parents. Totally understand!
  18. I went into a coffee bar in Amsterdam called "The Bulldog". Very funky, cave like place. I had a water. It was fun.
  19. If you have been vaccinated and boostered then you probably won't suffer overt symptoms that cause hospitalization. Kind of like getting the flu. The unvaccinated ones are more at risk.
  20. I agree. I never receive the surveys but I pay for the cruise! I'm the contact but my mom gets the survey. I filled it out so my crew peeps would get credit even if it's under Mom's name.
