  1. We just got off Apex and are very glad that you enjoyed your cruise because we did not. I have a food allergy and in the Oceanview Cafe there is usually a paper which names the dish and the 4 allergens of gluten free, lactose free etc. For our entire 7 day cruise there were many dishes that were missing the label entirely or it was not marked gluten free when it was. We talked to both the workers and the Chef and were told by several "yes, we know the label is wrong but it is gluten free". For the entire cruise we were told it would be corrected, it never was. We have cruised on a few other Celebrity ships and received great food and felt very safe that the food being served was gluten free. We will not return to Apex as staff generally were unhappy, both crew and supervisors wouldn't look at us and would hardly return a greeting if we greeted them.
  2. We had the same problem and once I called Celebrity showed that I actually had 2 accounts set up. The one I kept signing into only showed Select and when she deleted that account it showed Elite.
  3. We are going on our first Cunard Transatlantic and were surprised by the final payment due at the end of December for a May sailing. This is a trend that will continue and for us I am glad that we have travel insurance because so much can happen in 5 months.
  4. The videos are starting to post on YT and to me it looks like a larger version of a kiddie playland. The colors are so childish and way too many people for us to ever book a cruise. I am going to check cruisemapper.com to see if our future cruises will be in port on the same day as Coney Island of the Seas.
  5. @BluewezzieWe book all of our cruises thru the Big Box store. Not allowed to name them directly but you need to have a membership to shop there. I made the call this morning and they called Celebrity directly. Process didn't take long and it knocked another $464 off the cruise.
  6. We are also booked on this cruise I suggest anyone else booked to do a price check to see if it's lower. I have been checking the price a few times a week and I have twice had our room drop in price. We have knocked off almost $1,000 since we booked this in November last year. I am hoping that because the Summit is a smaller ship that we won't have any problems going thru the locks.
  7. We also moved from RC to Celebrity late last year and cruised on Summit in November. There were a few things that we loved and the first was that the hallways are open for you to drop off anything in your room. There is a note that they are still working on the rooms but you're welcome to drop off items and then return later. There were children but they were so well behaved that there was no running in the halls or around the pool areas. The food is so much better and they even serve hand scooped ice cream in the Buffet. We found that so many people used the stairs and this cruise had the most fit people we have ever cruised with. So many other cruisers were polite and saying excuse me, thank you. We received a mid trip review card to fill out and drop off at guest services. Very nice to know if there are any problems while in the middle of a cruise they want to fix them. We loved our cruise and have booked several more with Celebrity since we came home. The only con we have is being Diamond on RC gives us Elite but the free drinks are only for a few hours. The first day of the cruise doesn't include any free drinks.
  8. Thank you for the review because we just booked this for our February 2025 cruise. I just cancelled and am looking at another excursion for the port. For $144.99 I want to enjoy my beach day and not get ripped off.
  9. We were on a 5 day sailing in November and when we asked she said that for events to be held it has to be a 7 day or longer cruise. She did mention that on a 9 day or longer that events are held every few days.
  10. We cruised for the first time with Celebrity in November and purchased (3) of the Future Cruise Vouchers for $600. When we came home we booked...tried to book...the first 2 cruises we selected. I couldn't believe the trouble that we had explaining to the big box rep what we were trying to redeem. We had so much trouble that we won't be purchasing them again. I would book while on a cruise but never again buy a FCC.
  11. https://cloud.na.celebritycruises.com/GOGREEN_OPTIN This is the form that we use for every cruise. We only like the room attendant in for the evening since we usually sleep in everyday. We don't make a mess so it's one less room for them to clean in the morning.
  12. I know that it isn't room service but the Head Waiter at dinner can take your preorder for a GF breakfast. He offered to have made GF waffles, pancakes or any kind of omlete/eggs. You do have to eat breakfast in the Main Dining Room and the hours weren't too early so we did that for one of our mornings.
  13. We always put something on our door to help us verify it's our room ! I love seeing the decorations as it is your home for a week or more so make it your own. I thought the prettiest ones were during Valentine's week cruise as one door just used different shades of red post-it notes and had the shape of a heart on their door. Simple but so pretty and it didn't add any weight to their luggage.
  14. When we cruised in November we paid $100 each for the maximum of 3 "Future Cruise Certificates" to use once we got home. We were to receive OBC once we booked the cruise and the deposit that we paid on the cruise would be applied. We are cruising again in March and won't be buying these certificates anymore. We book thru a big box store and I had an awful time explaining to them what these certificates were. We were able to book our 3 cruises but from now on we will either book while onboard or as we have been and just forget about the bonus OBC while trying to use a certificate.
  15. So much detail and I can't imagine how much it took to set up all these ports. We have cruises booked for 2024 and 2025 but I just can't even plan for 2026 even though many sound interesting.
  16. I believe that cruisers move between the cruise lines as they all offer a small difference experience. How many of us started on other cruise lines but haven't been on them in over 10 years ? We started on NCL, have been on American Cruise Line, Princess and Royal Caribbean for many years. People change over the years and we are no longer interested in the Caribbean ports as all the ships go to the same ports. Our interest is now in a peaceful cruise with really good food so we for now are enjoying Celebrity. We just recently left RC and have three more cruises to complete and we don't think we will ever book another one due to the quality of the food served. I am glad that we have so many offerings to choose from which to make our decisions.
  17. @LooseMoose I am so sorry about your missed trip with what would of been in the perfect room. I thank you for sharing your story because it has made me make up a "pay this" sheet with our cruises listed by order of when they are due for final payment. By you telling your story it will help others to get used to having to track the payments and not rely on any company or person to remind us.
  18. @EsmereldaI wonder if you waited until you boarded and on the first day of every cruise they are trying to sell the drink package, spa etc. I think that they want to sell drink packages and if you are standing there as a potential buyer and explained how only you can drink if they would let you purchase ?

Booked for November 30th as we didn't want to book for the first two weeks. I would rather them work out the small problems and have the crew feel more comfortable working on the new ship before we board. We love cruising out of Fort Lauderdale so it will be fun as we have never cruised on a brand new ship.
  20. I asked them recently and they stated that flights are available for booking at 310 days from the cruise. I received an email that Flights by Celebrity could put me on an email list to remind me but the link to sign up is a dead link. I called but it was during their black friday sale and I kept being sent between FBC and Celebrity Cruises. I gave up and just wrote it on my calendar.
  21. We can't take any credit as another cruising couple that we were talking to at dinner gave us the idea. I have found that they ask for the simplest things such as one stop he just wanted the Emerg C that dissolves in water. I know I tend to forget that we can stop in any store we want and they are very limited with their time and if they are allowed to get off. Thank you for spreading this good will to other ships.
  22. We don't tip at the very beginning of the cruise but what we do is ask them if they need anything when we get off at the next port. They have to be approved to go off the ship and if they are in need of something they have to get another crew member to get it or wait. We were very humbled because on the cruise earlier this month our room attendant asked for a bar of soap and toothpaste. We had no plans so we just walked around and found a small grocery in Cozumel and got him the soap and they had a combo pack of full size toothpaste and a new toothbrush. He was very happy and the conversion rate made it under $6.
  23. @BlueSkiesTX Your daughter will be well taken care of and have a large selection of food. We have cruised for years with RC and I always take a small suitcase of gf food just in case. When we used to cruise on RC I would eat thru most of the suitcase. We cruised on Summit and I came home with 98% food still in my suitcase. The gf food was delicious, servings were perfect and they are well versed in food handling to keep us safe. In the Oceanview Cafe (buffet) I ate a Panini sandwich and Pasta for the first time in 12 years while on vacation. For the Panini sandwich there is a dedicated grill, they change gloves and they have their own cutting board and tongs. At the buffet every item has a placard above which shows all 4 allergens. If the item is duplicated above then it's safe if you are gf, vegetarian etc.
  24. We never spend the Shareholder credit before or during the cruise. We just leave it on the account and have it be applied to the balance during the cruise which for us is usually just gratuities. I have used it before to apply to an excursion prior to the cruise but it becomes too much of a hassle if the excursion price drops and then I have to keep track of the credit as well if the OBC gets back on our account.
  25. We always used to book Inside rooms prior to the shut down because I would rather spend money on excursions or ship activites. Post shutdown I booked out the next 5 cruises all in a balcony room. Two were nice while the other three all had smokers on the balcony, one cruise had the next 4 cabins that were cruising together and they thought the drinking shouldn't end until 4 am. We are now back in the inside rooms and it's so much quieter and I am able to sleep without hearing the door to the balcony open/close/open at 3:00 am by people who don't know what an inside voice is. Yes, security was called on the 4 cabins together and when knocking at their door they refused to open for security. We left our balcony room after the second night to move to another floor and security was going to gain access from our room. I still remember the smile on his face when he said "We have plans tonight when they won't open the door."
