Thank you everyone! I’m going to make sure I have pocketed bottoms because that makes more sense. It’s Alaska, so long pants most likely most days on the ship anyway. I really appreciate the input and the fact that I am not missing something.

This is probably a silly question but I’d like to be prepared…haven’t sailed since before Covid so not sure what to expect. Does everyone still bring lanyards for their sea pass? I have to wear a lanyard for work and I cannot stand it around my neck abc I want to forget work when I am on vacation? I have lanyards I bought for a cruise that ended up canceled due to Covid so I can easily bring them, I just want to know the feasibility of not using it. What other options might I have? FYI…I am not a purse/bag girl either. 🙂

I took my kids on the Summit to Bermuda (and Alaska on Disney Wonder the year prior to that and Wonder didn’t have crazy amenities either) at that age and had no issues whatsoever. Mine weren’t club kids either but enjoyed just hanging around. I think it all depends on your kids and whether they enjoy just doing their own thing. One way I’ve made more adults more enjoyable for kids is giving them some ownership like each gets to plan one port day within a prescribed budget or each gets to plan a sea day for the family.

July, final payment is in two weeks but we just paid it. Booked in the fall sometime…maybe Oct.

I am paid in full for an Alaskan sailing on Edge. I don’t “think” I’m going to need to change it, but DH may have to change it due to work and I’m just making sure I know the ins/outs. There are rooms on an earlier sailing so no concern there. Would it be the $100pp fee? Assuming you can always pick a more $ stateroom option (which I think we would) but what happens if it is less expensive? Also, what about any add ons paid for, like upgrade to premium drink package? Not booked through a TA but when you move one can you switch it to a TA to get any benefits they may have?

I’ve worked to reduce shoes as well. I’m with you on the multiple outfits but I can usually make it happen in a carry on sized suitcase if we are talking a few days (7 plus is hard.) It’s also way easier if it’s a bathing suit vaca…

We just booked a Britannia stateroom on a 14 night Mediterranean cruise in 2025. It’ll be our first Cunard experience so I’m trying to learn as much as possible. If I cruised in suites I’d be able to take a trip once every several years so I have to scale down. I guess I don’t know what I’m missing so ignorance is bliss. We have opted not to try the drinks package on this trip…I’m thinking with the port intensiveness it’s hard to get your $ worth and we do enjoy having drinks pre/during dinner or sitting by a pool, etc. I’m testing the theory on a short Celebrity cruise April 2025 and figure I can add it if I decide I need it. We are looking forward to the opportunity to dress up a bit and be more formal but again, first time for us.

I can’t wait…my preference would be “Nothing Comes Close with an amazing product at a great price.” I’d book more…lol…
