  1. Yes. A reasonable amount. Thus probably 2 12pk per person. We bring on diet tonic. Otherwise with a drink packages why bother.
  2. They simply stapled a second card behind the original. Pushkin - the published studies both in the UK and Australia show "on average" those infected with flu infect 1-2 others. Covid over 10. I am guessing the higher transmission of Covid is due to being contagious well before being symptomatic (if you have symptoms at all). Also flu has been around for many years and we have at least some immunity.
  3. And there are many who find a luggage tag holder just for getting you bags from the pier to your cabin a bit over the top. Porters will tag them at the pier for free and we always put a piece of duck tape or similar with our cabin number written in Sharpie Marker to avoid any issues. Easy and no stress.
  4. Steve at the insurance store can find the best policy for you. FWIW there is a complete topic on insurance. Your answer is likely already there.
  5. Am a bit perplexed. You gambled enough for a "free" cruise. Did you get free airfare from Tokyo to Italy and return? As for a transfer, trains go to FCO with one train change for about $30. A shared van is about $50. A private limo $200. Lots of choices. FWIW last year first class air Europe to Arizona was $1700. Today over $8000. A coach seat for a 45 minute flight to LAX went from $79 to over $300. Depending on where you would be traveling from certainly cheaper alternatives.
  6. Just fine if all works perfectly. You need to be at FCO a minimum of 2 hours early and it I'd an hour to FCO IF there is not an accident. Others have already commented about long lines at FCO. Check in last week for grandson took 2+ HOURS. 7 of 8 cruises had no customs check at Civitavecchia. The other time a huge inspection looking for possibly drugs. Took till 9am as a walkoff to get out of the dock area.
  7. Summit. Love the smaller ship and less crowded. More specialty restaurants not a big deal for us. Also enjoy elevators fore, aft and mid ship.
  8. The limitation is the satellite speed. Not the device. No difference.
  9. Suggest looking at the cabin sticky. Motion is less midship and on lower decks, but today with stabilizers you will rarely feel anything.
  10. Often discussed. The upgrade is not shown on your reservation but is on your booking confirmation from a TA and Celebrity. We always simply bring everything to the check-in. Not worth waiting on a call.
  11. You would be exempt unless the rules change, from Celebrity requirements for testing. BUT would be subject to Italian boarding requirements regarding testing and shore excursions. The rules change often but a COR today is not accepted by some countries and/or specific ports. A proctored test would only cost a few dollars and you can use the free iHealth tests if from the US.
  12. Almost 100%. Especially if you have Captain's Club status. Ask immediately when you board. Actually likely you will get anytime before as February 2023 is 8 months away.
  13. It certainly was. It was an exemption for only 2021. Some think it is still in place. That is the confusion.
  14. Port Arthur has a very difficult access subject to tides. I agree with you. FWIW a cruise to Tasmania is a joke. Fly to Hobart or Devonport and rent a car. About a week to make a wonderful circle. Say hello to the Tasmanian Devils near Bicheno if you do.
  15. Recently the transfer was a small van. Just 4 people. Wait was about 30 minutes. Took more than that to get our luggage!
  16. The letter posted tells you how to solve the problem. Celebrity cannot solve except by cancelling a leg of your cruise unless you leave the ship as stated. Where did you book? When are you cruising? Thus call Celebrity or your TA. They will likely not know as much as is posted here. A copy of the booking for the other poster can explain. Again it is PVSA. And the confusion is that there WAS an exemption to PVSA in place for 2021.
  17. Sort of. You complete the app before boarding the car ferry. You then simply can update it before you board the cruise. Do check for updates. That can cause problems. If you use your phone the app should take under 10 minutes. Type in your passport numbers and take a picture of your covid card. Your phone will format correctly. ArriveCAN is except for people like truckers only for a single entry. Then for your cruise simply enter your cruise info. Everything else should already be there. This is truly not a big deal. We crossed in and out of Canada 4 times over a couple weeks. Total time on ArriveCAN under 15 minutes
  18. Ken good and accurate numbers. The problem with cruising is many poorer countries do not have similar numbers and also have many without access to hospitals. Take a look at Jamacia or Dominican Republic for the number of ICU beds. Testing numbers and reported cases do not correlated because those that self test - 4 family and friends recently - have no reason to self report. BC Health Minister suggested reporting either way was only a very few.
  19. Had a sad comment made today by the only physician in a small community average age well over 70. Covid is becoming a lesser concern both because it's mutations seem to have created a disease that is less virulent AND those individuals in our community who were the weakest and most susceptible are mostly deceased.
  20. Because your actual seats were not booked at the time you contacted Celebrity. Then AA changed flights and one of those had only two non adjacent first class seats open. The computer that assigned your seats at AA only recognized a person. Not your status in marriage. This one likely no the fault of Celebrity Air but remember they are a consolidator- not a travel agent. Unless lots cheaper probably best to book direct.
  21. We have sailed several lines . Long past the drunken bashes on Carnival. RCCL last cruise had an average age of 40 with a couple hundred (mostly well behaved kids). Celebrity is about 15 years older with entertainment age appropriate. Nuff said.
  22. Agree you will need to wait. There are several websites that appear to be Celebrity Cruiselines whilst are either other companies or agencies. I would check my credit card on line for a y charges. FWIW, I would never book online. Always use a TA (extra OBC or group rates) or a Celebrity travel planner. The real website has lots of issues over the years. Clearing your history and cookies might help.
  23. Jim, things are changing too fast to know. Back In ancient times when I flew for work got a few million miles and membership like you. United no longer honors it. American sometimes when I show my card at the gate. TWA - oh well. And was told no with AMEX last year. This year probably all depends on the personnel at check in.
  24. Why all the drama about ArriveCAN? It took 5 minutes to complete using my phone. One can go back and enter a second entry point with just a few clicks. Under 2 minutes. Two important things to consider. #1 Make sure you update to the current version. Any inputted data stays. #2 Use a phone as photos are automatically formatted. PS just type in your passport number. Faster ArriveCAN makes border crossing take usually seconds.
