  1. A few updates from the last couple weeks. The Varsity soccer season ended last week. Owenโ€™s team is not moving onto playoffs. Thatโ€™s OK because rep baseball has begun this week. First game is done, with a solid win against a team that only plays ball and practices all winter. Owen walked, had a hit and struck out. He also made the game ending catch. Post game huddle. And with the warmer weather now upon us, the farmers are all up and rolling. There is a tractor in the centre of the dust cloud. And thatโ€™s why we donโ€™t spring clean our windows until June and the crops are in. This week we have had temps in the 80/90s.
  2. @ReneeFLL after posting my photo the other day about drinking from boxed wine I did some further reading and research. The Australians have possibly the greatest invention to solve the problem of getting wine while in quarantine. Itโ€™s called โ€œthe goon sackโ€. It will also help RC with the quarantine pillow situation. Who needs goblets, ceramic cups or paper bowls when you have the Goon Sack. Now your mouth is the glass. This 3 minute documentary says it all. I literally laughed out loud while watching this.
  3. Safe travels home to you and Mike. Hopefully his case is mild.
  4. If you want it by the glass I heard it will be served in a used toilet paper roll, lined with a new sandwich bag. Honestly, it would be better if they just brought it in the box. Just as easy to burn later, when the room is vacatedโ€ฆ along with the bedding. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜
  5. Have the cats even noticed that you are away? ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‚ I am sorry that you had to go through all of this ordeal. As a perspective, MDR room service before the pandemic would take an hour to arrive, and we would order when the MDR opened. We would beat the rush, and it still too that long without staffing shortages, shite outfits etc... Clearly these are not normal times, but the attitude you encountered last night was abhorrent. I pray that your surf and turf meal tonight is the polar opposite of your experience yesterday. Your positive attitude is amazing during this soul testing experience.
  6. Taking a cruise during a pandemic can be problematic.
  7. Iโ€™m bringing my old Blackberry to give away. (Sarcasm Font on๐Ÿ˜‰)
  8. We usually take $40 each, a couple nights on the ship, and donate it to the cause. If it lasts and hour or so at the slots, it is better than a night at the movies after you add snacks and popcorn. It is almost the same cost as well. Wagering a set amount of money, to get a cabin with such restrictions makes me enjoy the way we go about it. That being said, different strokes for different folks. We like suites while others like insides. That's the thing about cruises, they pretty much have everyone covered.
  9. BA BOOM. Biker, wins post of the day. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  10. Add me to the list of those that agree. I can attest personally, having it on land sucks. At least my coffee is being served in a mug, not a paper soup bowl. (Those seeing the thread on the main boards will get that joke). @ReneeFLL I hope you feel as good as possible while in this crappy situation.
  11. I think they are wanting free access.
  12. I hope it remains mild for them and no more of them get it. Thatโ€™s what Lisa and I have been saying. We should have been eligible for our second booster any day, but now we have natureโ€™s booster. Trying to put a positive spin on feeling like garbage. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  13. My wife and I are in the last days/stages of Covid recovery. I said to her, I could not imagine how it would feel to be on a ship with how we feel here at home. I think the fresh air could be a big benefit that she is missing. As for food, our appetites has been off. Iโ€™m sure if a steak was placed in front of me Iโ€™d try it, but it is definitely not what Iโ€™m craving. I hope your wife feels as good as possible, and that you remain negative for your trip home.
  14. I had some for lunch. I have been consuming lots of iced water as well today. Next up is some tea with honey. Tonight I will partake in some NeoCitran before bed.
  15. I wonder if they booked it for themselves, they are a co-owner after all. The commission would cover a chunk of the cruise cost and they travel the world from the Royal Suite. Now if it was an actual client, I wonder how the OBC and TA perks would work out for their client. Has to be more than one bottle of wine and a meal at Chops. ๐Ÿ˜
  16. Owen had it back in February so he is all good. I feel better today than yesterday. I even went outside for a few minutes.
