  1. The tables are set with nice linens, glassware and silverware - more like a nice sit down restaurant. You are served your drinks, etc. by a waiter at your table. Sitting outside on a beautiful morning as you sail into port or a warm evening as you sail out of port is a real treat!
  2. The drink package includes gratuities on the drinks....the $18 - 23 gratuities pp is for the cabin stewards, waiters, and the behind the scenes employees. Two different things,.. if you order a drink that is not part of the package then you will be automatically charged a gratuity which will be reflected on the bar bill you sign.
  3. No excuse for a dirty bathroom but we found we had to lift the bed up (there is a low railing by the outside edge of the bed) and then we could slide our large suitcases underneath...worth a try
  4. Often, the second night is the Captains Welcome party with free drinks in Horizons and Martinis around that time. That might make it difficult to find a place to meet but Horizons would have more space to get together. Martinis is a very small area.
  5. Didn't want to bother her since ours are already pre-paid so not a big deal for us - one way or the other.
  6. Yes, I found it after someone mentioned it. That is what I am thinking since it is the Inaugural Panama Canal cruise....
  7. It is in the booklet sent with the luggage tags, etc. I don't believe they are mailing them out to customers outside of North America any more...once we board, all of us will find out what it means. Since we have pre-paid gratuities due to loyalty, I didn't notice.
  8. Could possibly be because our Panama Canal cruise (16OCT - 01NOV) is the inaugural transit of the canal . We are on the prior cruise from Montreal to Miami so I will check onboard for an answer.
  9. Here is a link for the flip tops that fit the O water bottles - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W52KZJF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
  10. Easy - order from room service anytime you want.....we do that for our mimosas
  11. not sure about cartons or cans but can order fresh from room service at any time and keep in your fridge
  12. We use them at home (just took them to our grand daughter's VB tournament yesterday) and filled with ice cubes from our fridge.....just measured and it is a 2" opening
  13. Robes, slippers and non-alcoholic beverages in your fridge are standard in all cabins on all O ships....I have made calls using WhatsApp while onboard.
  14. I found a flip top cap with straw that fits the provided water bottles perfectly - turns it into a "sippy cup". I also have an insulated cover that slips on the provided water bottle and helps it stay cool. I just bring the cover and flip top cap and use/and leave the provided water bottle each cruise. Doesn't take much space in the suitcase.
  15. On our last O cruise, they were still offering the water bottles by the gangplank if you did not want to carry the provided or brought you own water bottle. I will check it out if that has changed when we board VISTA in 12 days...which ever, you do not have to bring your own water onboard to have "free" water bottles/refills available.
  16. Terrace, Waves, Barristas and room service (which has a very nice full menu)
  17. Unlike Celebrity, there is no need to bring your own plastic water bottles onboard as Oceania has water bottles, free, when you are departing the ship for excursions, etc. Onboard, they provide each of you with a refillable water bottle and there are large bottles of still and/or sparkling water in your cabin that are refilled as ofter as you want. There are also water filling stations around the ship for those bottles. Some prefer to bring their own refillable water bottles onboard but Oceania provides you the water to refill those.
  18. For several years, we thought the pressing was for only embarkation and did not even notice the cards too......then I had put all of the items, on the desk when we arrived, in an envelope and later on noticed the pressing cards and tried it.... I now save them and have an envelope full (since don't always use all of them on a cruise). To be honest, I take the envelope with me and can't remember if we received new ones last year. I will let you know when we board VISTA in 12 days!
  19. If you are in a cabin (Concierge and above), you will receive several cards that are good for free pressing of one garment at embarkation. We put one of these in the pocket of a shirt/pants we send in with the "free laundry bag" and it will come back on a hanger - ironed.
  20. They are usually 9:30PM on all of the ships.....
  21. Love your blog and look forward to the rest posting.....
  22. Thanks for the update - glad the weather has not been too bad so you can enjoy the ship and where ever it may take you. At least someone else is cleaning your room, making your bed, cooking your food and cleaning up your dishes - that to me is a vacation on its own. You have a good attitude too
