That is the real issue, some love them, but some hate them. I do not like being blinded and waking my DW if I get up at night. And sometimes the closet one would come on for no apparent reason in the middle of the night (hanger movement?). The other one would come on if you dropped a pillow or blanket edge over the bedside. It would have been so simple to install them on a switch so as to be an option, but no, that would have made too much sense. Now I need to pack electrical or painters tape to cover the sensors.

I didn't ask to hold the candy, so I don't know for sure, but they are made as ordered, so I don't see why they couldn't do that. Inside the glass on this one was vanilla gelato and New York cheesecake. the chocolate and sprinkles on the outside were frozen on hard. I would rather of had just the cheesecake with the gelato on the side.

Same here on the Emerald, but not too busy when we went. It took about 5 min to prepare it while we sat at an adjacent table. Way over the top for us and we shared one. The hard candy went in the trash. One and done for us.

I asked the medallion people at an onboard presentation when they first came out in 2019 that same question. Environmentally it would seem to make more sense to issue one without the cruise info on it and with a replaceable battery. At that time they said that they were looking into that and they encouraged recycling. It might have something with shoreside security being able to see the cruise ship and dates without scanning but I've never had any look that closely at it. It would also be a huge step to expect the normal cruiser to find their medallion and replace the battery for their next cruise. Most would arrive with dead medallions and there would be a battery replacement line 🤔 More likely, they think this way is less expensive. Now it is a money maker to charge $10 shipping each cruise.

Stop by the shore excursions desk onboard if you want it on the shipboard account. Booking it pre-cruise online it would be added to your cruise cost and not taken from OBC as far as I know. You should also be able to do it on the app onboard or even the stateroom tv but I've never tried that.

The pictures I have seen show booze bottle stuck in the desserts.

We use retractable badge holders and it works great.

Thanks for the info. We were on the Emerald last month and will be back on the day you disembark. One week from tomorrow 😁. We have the plus package and and I wondered where the new juice bar will be on the Emerald. Probably not going yet for your cruise, as it was for sailings starting on the 20th. Some ships are having problems rolling out the new stuff.

I keep a cruise log/scrapbook that they go into. Something else for the kids to throw out someday but for now it jogs some good memories.

I get it now, old brain duh. Princess plus 50, no free medallion shipping, the new Princess plus 60 includes free medallion shipping? They just don't make that clear on the website or app. I will gladly take the $10 per day savings over a possible one time $10 savings.

Yes, you can transfer money from you cruise account to your casino account to play. Before the end of your cruise if you are fortunate to have some remaining, cash out your casino account at the casino cage. They will give you cash in the hundreds if you are lucky. Unfortunately I don't have any first hand experience with really huge wins 😁. But I believe that like land based casinos, they will hold some back for taxes.

You are no doubt correct but I was raised not to waste anything. Thinking about linking them together in a chain for a Christmas tree garland decorated with medallions. 😄

Can't seem to not include the standard lanyard along with the medallion order on the app. We have our own holders and a bunch of unused lanyards. I wonder if there is a market for those ? 😉 I think Princess could save some money by not handing out lanyards to those who don't need them.

I agree. However a change in the OBC amounts or required shares is always possible. Good thing I have those extra ones I bought at near bottom incase they raise the required shares. 😉

You can't go wrong with either. We like the grand class of ships and sail on them while we still can. We were on the Emerald in January and will return to her in March for the circle Caribbean cruise.

We noticed that also on our Panama Canal cruise last month. 🤔

The point is right now is not listed as part of either cruise package. Maybe it was for a time, but not now. I'm done with this. Not worth the effort to to call or chat. Probably would not get a straight answer anyway. All I know is they tried to charge me on a cruise where I have the plus package.
