  1. Way easier to take private transportation from S.F. Airport to your hotel and from the hotel to the ship. Also I would select a hotel somewhere near Fisherman's Warf area and the pier. There is nothing really around the airport area to do or see. I would also recommend at least two days early as there is lots to see and do in S.F.
  2. Believe the reaction would be positive from all.
  3. Soda by the can not included for free. It is included at a 25% discount.
  4. Club Class is not an add on. You must be booked in a club class mini suite to receive the club class benefits. You would have to search to see if any club class minis are currently available for your cruise and then change your booking.
  5. If you send your laundry out it is charged by the piece, not by the bag and there is no unlimited pricing available for purchase. There is a laundry ticket that you fill out. It will be in your closet. Someone on these boards probably has a photo of the ticket. A typical bag of T shirts, PJs, underwear, shorts, pants would be around $50 or so. Passengers in full suites as well as elite loyalty level passengers receive unlimited comp. laundry.
  6. I would add. We always booked aft starting at C618/9. We find less motion there then forward.
  7. You will have no difficulty finding open deck sitting and viewing space on the Grand Princess. Wrap around promenade on decks 7/8. Aft area may be closed off for crew smoking area. Terrace Pool (adults). A small pool, around 4/5ft deep. Lounges directly around the pool. Lounges, tables and chairs and Al Fresco Bar half deck up on Lido deck, lounges on deck 15 outside of Club One5 with smoking area in a section of this area Lido deck has both an indoor and outdoor pool. Indoor pool has conservatory (free) above. Outdoor pool has lots of lounges on deck above. Also lots of lounging and viewing areas on the Sports Deck. Spa Pool on deck 15 forward is free and for adults. refer to deck plans https://www.princess.com/deckPlans.do?shipCode=AP
  8. Caribe deck, deck 10, balcony cat cabins have a 9ft x 9ft balcony with 5ft covered and 4ft uncovered. Interiors are the same as other balcony cat. cabins. This compares to other balcony cat cabins with 9ft x 5ft balconies. Any specific differences as well as connecting cabins are shown in red on the Princess.com deck plans. We enjoyed the extra space on these deck 10 balconies.
  9. True, but many of the participants do change. In the assisted living community, OPs venue, the participants will be the same each time so the moderator has to change the questions.
  10. FYI. The Water Island Ferry departs from Crown Bay. Ship docks at Havensight. Allow time for a taxi.
  11. You have to have written approval from Princess. You must also check the entry requirements at Gdansk as well as the covid testing requirements for entry and boarding a flights in Poland for the U.S. There is no refund from Princess for not being on board the last two days.
  12. Should be 45 days before the flight which should be right around now.
  13. There is a fee for some class sessions in the fitness center. Use of all equipment is free.
  14. Have layers handy for leaving S.F. and sailing south/north along the CA coast. Once south of San Diego it should be more tropical. If you are staying in S.F. expect temps range from the mid 50's to 70's.
  15. If I read your post correctly your plane arrives 8:30pm on day 1 and you are transferred to the hotel for a one night stay. On day 2 you have the riverboat trip. The bus will be at the riverboat pier to pick you up after the trip and will transfer you to Danali arriving around 4/5pm. Once checked in you are free for the evening. In summer it stays light until after midnight, plenty of daylight to be on your own. Unless I'm reading the timing incorrectly the only window I see in your schedule to meet your friends is after you arrive at the Fairbanks hotel on day one, late evening. Specifics for handling your luggage will be detailed in your arrival instructions.
  16. Royal Princess does not have a lounge on deck 17 aft. It does have an open outside area in that location for cigarette smoking.
  17. Basic smoking areas are deck 7 aft starboard side. Sun deck aft deck 17. Usually at some casino slots while playing and Churchill's lounge. Believe that crew & passengers in quarantine cabins may smoke on their balconies. Cabins directly above and near these cabins might smell smoke.
  18. Certainly laundry and ship to shore tender priority are very nice benefits. Benefits that are widely used.
  19. Agree, cab is faster, better and less expensive. Cost for a cab, $20/25 for two. Fares may have increased recently with the high gas prices. Cabs readily available. Travel time to airport is 15 to 20 minutes depends on traffic & traffic lights.
  20. Excursion department will adjust the times. You will receive a notice probably on the ship. Nothing to worry about. It has happened before and will again.
  21. Laundry is the big benefit. Next is probably priority tender embarkation ship to shore. Bathroom amenities really nothing of any importance. Mini bar items can be exchanged by calling room service. Alcoholic for alcoholic or non alcoholic, non alcoholic for non alcoholic.
  22. Recently? Maybe this had something to do with the covid isolation and other covid protocols. I never saw this pre-covid.
  23. Anyone can order items using the Ocean Now app on your device or the cabin TV. There are many selections. Those in full suites can also order from the full DR menus. Those in other cabin cats can not.
