  1. Yes lunch included- Perhaps you cannot read the fine print. Under the heading Highlights. Have had it previously, familiar with how it works- IMO worth it.
  2. We went on a cruise to alaska in August many years ago. It was wonderful. Actually very warm except when we went to the glaciers. Wore light spring clothes. I purchased winter gear from a sporting goods store, never used it! I want to go again as because of global warming the glaciers are now much smaller then before. Many interesting excursions . You should go.
  3. The non smoking ban in the Casino's hasn't hurt celebrity, royals sister cruise line. It will not hurt Royal either. I feel sorry for the staff that has to work in the Casino. The smoke moves all over the ship and on the other side of the Casino- We don't go in the Casino and perhaps would if no smoking was the rule.
  4. Never stayed in that cabin, however typically those areas are a steward work/staircase and storage area. We move away from them because of possible noise from early or late room service.
  5. Sometimes a lunch is offered. However it isn't the same. Might be cheaper- Our favorite spec restaurant.
  6. I have it! Silhouette Jan 2 - 9 night cruise!
  7. We truly enjoy both ships. If not in a suite, choose a cabin mid-ship with cabins above and below. Try also a cabin that doesn't have an employee access staircase across from you. We prefer the Silhouette and Reflection. Have done glass blowing on other S class ships, but really enjoy the lawn club grill and porch which are only available on the Silhouette and Reflection. Enjoy your cruise.
  8. We enjoy the true suite sun deck on the Oasis class ships. Not all in the sun which IMO is horrible and not for those concerned about skin CA and wrinkles. Will never use them. On the Oasis class ships, you have a full bar, and with the exception of the Oasis, a hot tub. The Oasis has a water feature- a shower. Some shaded areas to sit and relax. Also the few free cabanas are wonderful. Our last sailing on the Oasis had the best bartender. She was terrific went around to people to ask the if they would like anything. Hope to repeat this August.
  9. Now so easy to use, at airports and other places. Hope all old machines have been replaced now!
  10. Actually called cafe promenade. They are the snack area on the promenade. They have a cappuccino and expresso machine for upgraded coffee—-for a fee of course!
  11. That is exactly what should have been done for the adventure guests.! Perhaps better lounge concierge
  12. Of course not. However when a cruise line or restaurant has a dress code for dinner, lets respect it. You don’t have to wear a tux, unless you want to, but long pants— not a big deal. Wear shorts from breakfast and lunch!
  13. No but following the rules and being respectful helped them build character
  14. I was on the Adventure of the Seas last May. It was horrible. The ship is a rust bucket and the Diamond Lounge coffee machine was broken daily. A half-dozen people tried fixing it- wasting time. The staff should have given coffee coupons to the guests to get coffee at Sorrento's. I am sure that the machine could have been easily replaced. Will never sail on the old ships again.
  15. Having sailed on 50 plus cruises in the past 20 years, I must say Carnival cannot compare to Celebrity. Celebrity, IMO has better food, service and the crowd is less 24 hour party. Yet you can still find plenty of activities. I find Carnival is typically a very young crowd while celebrity is more diverse. If you are having a bachelor party and want a wild celebration, Carnival your choice. If you are looking for a more relaxed vacation Celebrity is for you. I also find that Royal newer ships are a great balance
  16. Both are now in ivy colleges and are now wonderful adults. I am so proud of them and their parents!
  17. So sad how many adults behave now also- setting bad examples for their children and the children behave like bullies.
  18. I agree having sailed with kids- the two balcony cabins offer more privacy and two bathrooms- more comfortable for everyone.
  19. Varies depending on ship If you are on a edge class ship in an S3 the bed placement isn't the same as the S1 and S2 and the suite might feel a little crowded.
  20. Teenage boys should wear pants. If you go to Target get then each a couple of pairs- Unless 5 and 8 pants would be the better option. I also have teenaged grandsons and they understand that they should wear pants in the evening. Shorts fine all day.
  21. Definately a sky suite much larger then a balcony, AQ or concierge class cabin. Size of those cabins, except accessible is 243 sq feet. Smaller bathroom. The Sky suites are 397 square feet and more in accessible. We never ate in Blu as we had tried on previous ships- much prefered Luminae and specialty restaurants. Loved Eden and the Steak house.
  22. Not sure about points. But all other perk apply. Including a better location
  23. Actually concierge not a waste. You get extra points per day. Also a special lunch. The cabins are well located you get some upgrade cabin amenities
  24. yes- we enjoyed Grease, Mama Mia, Chicago and Hairspray our favorite! But as you say its personal taste.
