  1. The only reason I booked Rudi's was because of Maine lobster. I ordered it and didn't notice if I got warm water lobster. It was 12oz.! This was on the Rotterdam in May to Norway. To advertise Maine and get something else, is not nice. There is a reason Maine lobster costs more.
  2. We really enjoyed our southbound from Seward to Vancouver Millennium Aug 2022. The ship was not full. Didn't see any unruly kids, and not very many on board. Entertainment and MDR were good. We had one meal in the Pinnacle, no complaints. We manly cruise on HAL and Celebrity in ocean view cabins, because they tend to be on the lower decks.
  3. Don't go to Alaska. It is getting crowded. Seriously, my husband and I went on a R/T Inside passage from Vancouver and loved it. We were living in Hawaii at the time, and made sure we took long underwear, hat, gloves, and rain gear. Went back again in 2022, a southbound trip. OMG I want to go again.
  4. I know it can get crowded at the bus stop coming back, but guess they have to do something to manage crowds. 😞 It is getting this way at National Parks too. You can walk over to the falls and back if you hurry and explore in 2 hours. Wonder how they will handle people who take the public bus?
  5. We saw this offered at the Dutch Cafe on the Rotterdam. You got the above, minus the beverage card for about $40 if I remember correctly. No way was it this high.
  6. We were wait listed on our recent cruise in May. I received an email that they had an opening.
  7. The Oceanview rooms have a window. On some ships, if they are only a port hole, it will indicate when you look/book on the website.
  8. We are looking at this cruise too. Last time we were on her was 2018 in an Oceanview. I looked at the deck 3 rooms for next year and decided no. They are actually less than picking my own room on the lower deck.
  9. There was a booth selling cans of water at the terminal in Amsterdam. I almost bit, but was too late. I had no problem bringing an empty plastic bottle on board during embarkation.
  10. We were on Celebrity Apex and HAL Rotterdam this year. We always found a seat. Sometimes we had to walk around to find 2 together and occasionally sat with others. We ate breakfast later, so lunch was not at noon either. Did see some card playing, but these folks were down at the very end, and usually after the rush.
  11. Not sure why Celebrity can't get this straight on their site. I had "early" originally, but read that this isn't true. So I got all anxious because customer service would say, Oh yes you have early at 6 pm. Didn't believe em. We actually got the card that said what dining room we were assigned, but it only suggested a good time to show up. It worked out fine, we kept going back there about the same time and got the same table except once.
  12. The Rotterdam May/Norway/2023 didn't have teams and the prize was a free drink. There was a 3-way tie one evening, so everyone got one. The guy leading the game was a hoot.
  13. Your review and pictures were very nice. I am lucky to not have issues with motion sickness on cruise ships. I still have the "on a ship feeling" for a few days after. Our last cruise we met folks who didn't like the sea one night....but they had booked a higher deck and not sure if it was mid ship. Ginger won't make you feel drowsy.
  14. I see the Eclipse is scheduled for 2025 spring. Wondering if they will be offering South America in February/March 2025 on her?
  15. We took the Briteline train from West Palm Beach to Fort Lauderdale when our flight got cancelled into FLL during the big flood. Cost was $17 per person and $10 for the big suitcase. We used Uber to get to the station and then the hotel. Train was clean and new with a bathroom.
  16. If Rotterdam is anything like Amsterdam, they will be riding their bicycles.
  17. We would walk by Club Orange on our way to the MDR on the Rotterham. Always looked empty and the hallway outside of there was colder than other areas. Personally, I thought the decor was nothing special. Reminded me of my friend's kitchen chairs when I was young.
  18. I second that. We sailed on Apex in April with a "fixed" 6 pm dining. What we did get was a card in our room telling us to go to a specific dining room the first night with a suggested time. We went about 5:30 ish every night with no problem getting seated quickly.
  19. We used the Briteline train to get down to FLL from West Palm Beach when our flight was cancelled due to the flooded airport. Not crowded, booked regular seat and paid $10 to check our larger suitcase. Train was $17 a person. It was clean and had restrooms.
  20. As of 2026, Geiranger won't allow ships unless they are zero emissions. Read that someone is building one to be ready by 2030.
  21. When you leave to go to breakfast, put your "Deep Sleep" magnet out on your door.
  22. If you want to see deep fjords, this itinerary has only one, Flam. I looked into Celebrity but chose HAL for their ports. I have to see Geiranger. If you hop over to "Europe/North Baltic" ports of call, there is a poster who knows all about the stops. Happy planning.
  23. When you booked your cruise what did your request? When I booked I could ask for early, late, or anytime. I chose early. I stand corrected, they do have their specialties, but you can pretty much get another dining room specialty where you are. My husband kept ordering the short ribs from another MDR.
  24. Lemon Tarts at Cafe Al Bacio. Pistachio Donuts @ Tuscan Grill/Millennium.
