  1. Oh no. We could not land earlier this year, in April when the airport closed. Luckly, they landed the flight in Palm Beach. We took the Brite Line train to Fort Lauderdale. Our hotel was turning people away due to wet carpets the next morning as we were waiting for the cruise shuttle. The restaurant canceled our reservation, and we ended up at Mc Donalds next door.
  2. Entertainment for us is the major difference. We liked the shows on X, with more variety. Food is about the same in the MDR. We like the seating area at Cafe Bianco better than the Dutch Cafe, HAL for morning lattes. Seating for buffet area on HAL was better situated. We sail depending on itinerary.
  3. Sorry your cruise was not a good experience. I am super picky about cabins and always stay in an ocean view room. Our last cruise on the Rotterdam had these cabins under public areas. I chose wisely and stayed away from the music venues. We did hear some weird noise one night. Food was good and we are booked on the Volendam next.
  4. Maybe that is where my mystery OBC came from. I am 1 star.
  5. Seem like your mileage varies with HAL. My TA did a reprice and got me the reduced fare as an OBC. Great. They said no when she called back to see about the prepaid gratuities, as they said they already gave me a discount. And, for some reason, a credit was showing as a future cruise credit of $100 all along.
  6. Thanks Ottahand7..... My cruise only fare is with a non-refundable deposit. That's ok. My TA called and got the reduced fare sale, $300 as an OBC. Can use to pay my gratuities. We tried for the Black Friday prepaid gratuities, but HAL said no.
  7. Thanks for the memories. We were on the Expedition when deck 3 had cabins in 2010. They only had one loop. Best trip ever. Enjoy the sights.
  8. I tried to add my AARP number to my booking and was told it could not be done, as I booked right before it started. I tried multiple times. Even called my PCC with no success. Last night I did a mock booking to see if this cruise came down in price for the Black Friday sailing. It did, and the booking was showing the AARP credit. I won't be canceling and rebooking. I will call my TA for a reprice.
  9. I was looking for a Montreal to Boise flight on Flight Ease and the price was only $18 less than direct. It said that unless you are ticketed, the price was not firm, and seats not guaranteed. I usually book flights as soon as available.
  10. These are Greyhound type motorcoaches, and I am pretty sure they do. It is a long bus ride.
  11. I just reached out to my roll call. Terry D mentioned the tender ports there. BTW it is a Boston to Montreal. 11 Day in Aug 2024
  12. My itinerary for my cruise does not show which ports may be tender ports. Is there a way to tell, other than calling HAL.
  13. I would try for a room under the Art Gallery. We were under the shops on the Rotterdam and it was quiet.
  14. Thanks for sharing. We are going Boston to Montreal next year with many of the same ports.
  15. They are not that bad, not the super nice lighted one that I have. There are plenty of lights around the dressing table in the cabin.
  16. We were on the Apex in an outside cabin. There was no pull-out clothesline in the shower. 😞
  17. We sailed on her R/T Alaska in 2018. We are booked for Aug 2024 New England/Canada. We liked the food, entertainment, and ease of getting around the ship. The covered panorama deck is great.
  18. We sailed our first pinnacle class ship on HAL recently. No one told us that you need to leave a key card in the slot for your cabin lights to work and stay on. Had to call guest services. LOL
  19. We are going last 2 weeks in August next year. I don't really care about fall colors and wanted nice weather and the chance to see Blue Whales in Quebec during summer. Going Boston to Montreal.
  20. Yeah right.....ha ha ha. When we were on the Apex in April to the Caribbean there was this solo guy out by the pool with one of those portable blue tooth speakers. I mentioned it to staff that he should use ear buds. We were walking by on our way somewhere. Guess what, he was back the next morning!!
  21. Too late to edit. Tuscan Grill was the name. Pinnacle is on HAL. Getting my restaurants mixed up. Too many vacations.
  22. Hey....when I was a young gal in junior high, that was the only way I could buy something at Learner's in downtown PDX. I earned $$ babysitting.
