  1. We walk almost every day..flat surfaces or gym. I thought the Acropolis tour was a work out,, strenuous,,.. walking up steps, etc. The outdoor rinky dink elev was not for me either.. Rhodes was no issues. Our Dtr found a mountain walk in St lucia (?) A bit of a challenge in the heat I thought Pools and Falls in Dominica ( ?)was also a big hike,, Up and down 2x..limited railings or rest benches in some spots Need sturdy shoes, hat, water for many walking tours, you have to judge your stamina, potential surfaces, and your own ability & balance! A walking pole might help depending Some of the on ship tours also invokve alot of walking and stairs.,but have some elev options.
  2. thank you for the memory of the original EDGIES, Mr Edge and Vt Cruiser.. Marilyn was a wonderful online friend to so many of us...Her good deeds here and in the non cruise world live on i think of her often..glad you remembered...
  3. I am catching up...great review and so fun with both of you in starring roles! You are so right about all the auto doors. Unpredicable and dangerous, esp when they turn on you,. On BEYOND, I was assaulted by the doors more than once., and was locked in for awhile in the Luminae bathroom.. I particularly avoided that one or brought along a buddy to wait outside! Loved the EFFY bauble..will drop the hint to Sal..Our.next cruise on Ascent is a big b day for me ..,last big b day on EDGE, I got the dancing diamond if my dreams! Love your look in this shot..Have fun!
  4. nice review..thanks for sharing your thoughts. did u go to an specialty restaurants? did you use the Solarium pool/ hot tubs? AQ spa cafe? what did you do in Puerta Vallarta?
  5. we bring our own ..6 pack if we can and buy more along the wsy... but will try what AQ Class provides... last time it was not a spring water It had an awful taste...
  6. Sea conditions often affect timing and safety of Tendering to Gr Cayman....sometimes they have to suspend service or switch the tendering side of the ship. We have seen a few bad injuries of those being loaded on..not worth it! We don't bother anymore. Last time awhile ago we were finishing up a great lunch in Bistro on 5..they were still calling Tender Nos.. We have enough expensive tee shirts, snorkel photos.. ..too much traffic when more than a few shipsl.
  7. i agree.. Gen Z is looking like a gown up lady now...girl.power! Bet she can't wait for her special "mom and me" cruise on Tortola..the local party place was always BOMBAS shack..(a bit rough) I do not think it survived a few storms..but they must party someplace..Got the Tee shirt 2 cruises ago! ENJOY!
  8. Stunning Couple! Will be following along..X is a great (almost ) smoke free choice. ENJOY!
  9. unless this has changed your levels will match uo to a certain level but u wont actually get Celeb points per se. i agree Royal will likely be a better choice
  10. don't expect too much..maybe for the 50th and in a suite. Usually, just the choc cake! add to your res & remind your maitre d
  11. how about DESCENT... ..? Current direction of their new Modern Luxury format...downwardly mobile!
  12. Do the other 12 yr olds want to hang out with someone's 9 yr old kid brother? Guess it will depend on the age mix on board..and available slots
  13. Pb and j in the carry on? We already bring our own fresh crackers and some cheeses..just in case...
  14. Paper towels seem more sanitary and less waste of laundry staff and wash water but maybe not politically correct although paper straws that mush are ok..? They already tried dumping much of the live music and played an endless loop of dreadful canned music,,..no one liked it, Eventually it was mostly gone. We prefer quiet morning hrs at the pool but were assaulted with loud rap music out there on a few cruises and were told tough..that's what Miami ordered, No one liked it and eventually we had some peace out there! We miss the Jimmy Buffet entertauners and authentic reggae bands...
  15. How are the septic/ toilet and A/C systems..? Two past problem areas for Inf..plus bathrm mildew... Painting things and new carpet and soft goods does not always mean systems are updated
  16. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! The cake is the usual,item..and maybe small rose or flowers from Cap Club,,..hit or miss Used to have Anniv parties.. but no more, I usually cruise on my b day..we dress up for the night...and Celebrate..sometimes with a small gathering with folks from the roll call if we have an active group!
  17. She is Royal C trained, so maybe her ideas of culinary standards differ from the original X standards of excellence which s he may not have experienced..? Her tenure is noted for the decline of "Modern Luxury.".,.main focus on suite class ....no idea about her bottom line performance..
  18. Have not been to both... Rousseau also has a bontanical garden.( small) or did when we were there quite awhile ago. The whole island is a natural wonder. We took a very long ship's tour which is the best way see this lush, beautiful place... The town did not offer much..there was a run down restaurant, (No burgers, but served pork), a few shops, and a small outdoor market type area along the pier..spices etc. Things may have changed????
  19. Some Ca ports are ridiculous. We "re-booked" a Specialty Dining res WHILE IN PORT at the restaurant so we could get our E + discount..and were then assessed a local tax. No one explained that would happen. Eventually X gave us a credit back via Guest Rel but we cancelled ALL specialty dining on our Pacific Coastal Cruise! Buyer Beware!
  20. I believe MANKIND the store....was instead of Tiffany's along the corridor to EDEN.. It had a very small selection at inflated prices...much like other stores on board. DH said nothing caught his eye..at any price! That area would have made a nice little wine bar or Specialty Coffees....wonder how well it will do there?
  21. They may have an ELITE elegant tea but never had high tea on Celebrity. Cunard QM 2 had a wonderful tea...quite posh
