Looks like all my favorite apps are gone. Hoping that they don’t implement it by my 15 day Panama cruise.

I am sailing late January and will hit Panama and Nicaragua. Who knows what the policies will be come the winter months. Right now seems like the cruise lines are just addressing the cruises that are happening in the Fall. Also, specific country policies may differ from cruise line policies. There just can’t be one blanket policy unless it becomes everyone needs a test.

I got the same message for end of January and called….passes were already sold out

Is there any changes in the menus between week 1 and week 2, or is it just a repeat? This is for the 15 day Panama Canal on the Bliss.

I have a trip late January and it shows up on line as too early to book. I will go on chat and see if I can book or have to wait till closer

Personally I would not do Tulum on a non NCL excursion. It’s a fairly long bus ride and you have to deal with the ferries to and from Cozumel. Too much can go wrong.

I was really looking at the Sloth sanctuary so I am glad to hear it was a positive experience.

I am traveling on the same Itinerary on the Bliss end of January. Have you joined your Roll Call yet? You may be able to find some like minded solo/ or others to get some ideas. I hooked up with a group doing the Dora tour in Cartagena. Not sure of your budget, but if you get the $50 excursion credit with NCL you can go on sone of the tours for a very reasonable price, even a few for free.

I did not get usual alerts to replies to my question so I am finally seeing this. I am on the NCL Bliss 1/27/23. The above answer says a lot and I can see why no excursions are listed, especially now that unvaccinated passengers will be on the the ship. I am sure only time will tell if the requirements change and in time for NCL to hire and vet excursion vendors.

What could be happening is that the news is so new and forever changing that their IT department has not kept up to changing letters already scheduled to be automatically mailed. Had similar happen on another cruise line over the winter. Give it a little bit more time and maybe it may get updated on the app or NCL web site

I know this is for Panama but have nowhere else to ask, and considering this is a port on Panama Canal cruises I thought I would ask. Has anyone gotten any info on this port ( primarily NCL). Having sailed both and have an NCL trip planned for January, this is what I love on Celebrity: (have only sailed Eclass) *Embarkation out of Port Everglades…no waiting in line for sea pass, they scan you in just before boarding with tablets, you go straight to your room…sea pass is outside your door. Drop off luggage, put stuff in safe then go explore until rooms are finished. Love not lugging carry on luggage around * Cafe Al Bacio coffee bar. Most coffees are free and the free pastries, deserts are wonderful. Grab a few for cabin. * Flair shows at Martini Bar… lots of fun, silent disco just as funny to watch as it is to do * Lobster and Prime Rib night in MDR’s, came around with trays of lobster for extra helpings. * The warm chocolate cookie desert at the Rooftop Grill * Water included with the drink package * Getting your bill on the last day with NO ADDITIONAL SERVICE CHARGE Apex will have 4 MDRs with different themes, like having specialty restaurants.

You choose 9 AM check in time, you will be waiting around till boarding time. Unlike Celebrity, you have to wait in line for your sea pass and not have access to your cabin till sometime after 1PM. ( I am spoiled by Celebrity embarkation)

What airport you are flying into can make a big difference on where to stay.

In your case you are bringing things to people you know and bringing things that they want. That’s great (having Filipino relatives I understand the pork rinds) You are bringing them things that bring them some joy. Bringing arbitrary things to strangers may not be the best idea. Sadly there are people out there who would consider it part of the tip (have seen it first hand)

Sorry if this offends someone but I don’t understand people who think it’s cute to bring $2 bills or silver dollars (the ones worth $1) You realize that they are going to be exchanging that out to a cashier who will roll their eyes at another rarely used currency. Then you see comments like “ they really seemed to appreciate it”. What do you expect them to say…” no thanks I hate it”……. Of course they will be nice to the person who will hopefully give them a tip at the end of the cruise. Most of your novelty items will never make it back to their cabin. Money and a good review is what they want most

As an add on to this question…when making advance reservations do you have to have room / reservation numbers for all, or can one person make one reservation for all? Can reservations for 8-10 people be done on the app?

I am an administrator for our cruise in January on the page that can’t be mentioned. I have posted a link to CC and encourage them to also join the CC roll call. I think some have but you don’t know since there is no real sign up and people just lurk. At least I know that I have over 80 members on the other page, and we have a signup sheet for M&G and other functions on both sites. I wish that CC did not take away the PM function. So much easier and faster to use messenger when you want to discuss something off the page to a particular person. I’ll continue to encourage everyone to use both sites.

When you board check to see if they have a special that night. On the Edge originally it was 30% off but then once seated we were offered a AYCE on certain items for $40. There were 5 of us and they brought 2 of the large seafood towers, different sushi’s and rolls, and other stuff, including desert. This was back in January so not sure if they still do it but does not hurt to ask.

Ocean view cabin was a waste. Lower decks which put you eye level with the pier or in view of some other random boat. Had to keep curtains closed the entire time in port. We then sailed at night and when I went it was dark by 6:30 so nothing to see. Should have kept my inside room instead of bidding (luckily was at minimum bid)
