  1. Really sad. Why would they do that? Do we know if it is the entire area?
  2. Ask for the recipe and you can make it at home between voyages.
  3. In practice, PCL ship personnel have been allowing Elite member + 1. Ask nicely and see what they advise. Typical now is for the Loyalty Host to hand out priority tender passes and advise when to head down. She will be the one to answer/advise.
  4. The old way included a top baked in. The new way is to add and show the 18%. Either way, no need for you to tip extra. I think what is happening is those that booked SD before the change and before their voyage are not being charged the new pricing. Those boarding ships now and booking SD are paying the price increase. Price has gone from $39 (e.g. CG) to $46. It's a price increase folks. Gratuity was always there from day-one. It just shown now to all.
  5. Adequacy aside, I believe I read someone corrected that to $60/day - not total for the voyage.
  6. Long gone - assigning times. It was bogus in the first place anyway.
  7. Are you in one cabin or two? If two, you have separate bookings. Best if all have their own account. That way, you can locate each other around the ship. The internet login is by cabin number and birthdate of whoever bought it. All can use that.
  8. I agree on BJ. You have to move up to higher min to get with better players.
  9. I repeated my testing of yesterday. I checked fares on Princess.com when logged in (CAD) and not logged in (USD). I also went back to the Canadian vacations site and checked pricing and also to one of my preferred US agencies. Something is still wrong with Princess.com. I think it is also affecting at least some US pricing. I have never seen the agency booking engine not have the same pricing in one of their options that doesn't match with the default option Princess.com shows - save and except for a past booking/pricing bug. Again, I used Enchanted for March 10, 2025. I also took a quick look at another Enchanted voyage in Winter 2025 with same effect. Princess.com is offering IA at $1,220 USD and IB at $1,110 USD. Port taxes are at $199.39. In CAD on Princess.com, the IA is $1,713.15 and the IB at $1,564.65. Port tax is $269.17 - which is at the 1.35 conversion rate. However the cruise fares indicate 1.40 min conversion. Actually, the effective conversion rate on the base fare is even higher because the non-commission fare (NCCF) portion is $270 USD or $364.50 CAD at 1.35. Using the US agency booking engine, the same fare indicates $1,286 USD for the IA with $224.39 in port taxes. Note how these USD fares are higher than Princess.com quotes. When I check the Canadian travel provider, the fare is $1,736.15, with port taxes of $302.92. Both values work out to the prevailing 1.35 conversion rate we have had for a long time now. However, neither USD nor CAD match to Princess.com. Strange indeed. (No, this is not due to using different Fare Codes). IDK what is going on exactly, but buyer beware for certain if you are in Canada. Make sure you are not getting over-charged in CAD. Or, book in USD like I do. Perhaps things got whacked when implementing the recent sales promo change - it would not be the first time.
  10. Have you changed number of pax to 3?
  11. Who knows what the complete story is? Perhaps someone realized there would be an uprising if folks paid $99 and got the same loungers as on open decks and were crowded in. Perhaps they are missing loungers?????
  12. Interesting how you can play penny slots - if that's your game - but need to bet considerably more for each round of Blackjack.
  13. To answer the question, be prepared to donate a lot of money to the casino.
  14. Yes, it is but visit the DR on Day 1 and speak to either DR Mgr or DR Host and ask them to set you up with a table, or if you are a random time diner, just ask them which DR is best for walk-ups.
  15. If I start a Go*Fund*Me, do you think I could get a trip on the Sun covered if I promise to interview managers and report back on all the things we are wondering about?
  16. Make sure you download the new App - look at Princess Cruises in the Play Store. Blue square icon.
  17. Wow!! That was some effort. I would think then that PCL setup the webpage for the Sun and Star based on construction plans and not changed with the actual during build. Like I said, we know Princess is not perfect and their website is not always up to date. At least the numbers are close to each other.
  18. Nope. Ship capacity is normally quoted as 2 guests per cabin. Those are the common statistics referenced for ship size or comparing. Perhaps you were indicating that the count is 2 per cabin even if capacity is 3 or 4 possible.
  19. I agree with you. The 18% is a tip and no need to augment. However, this is not really a change from before as the old price had the gratuity baked in and was invisible so to speak unless one was informed about the pricing. I think some folks may get hung up on terminology, but it is a tip for the staff. It isn't any different in my mind to the 18% added to every bar order. Princess simply has increased the pricing for SD and decided to make the gratuity visible to all. I just think of it a a CG meal now costs $46 instead of $39.
  20. Well, try taking off the mandatory tip many restaurants add for a certain group size and higher. I never have, but probably would not be well-received. I guess we may need to wait and see if anyone posts on this forum that they stroked off the 18% charge on SD bill and were successful. Every bar drink has 18% added on and I do not recall reading anyone removing that. You may be splitting hairs here over a term, but the 18% is treated as gratuity to the staff. I have always been aware the team in SD was getting a gratuity amount baked into the price I paid. I only tipped for special service and we were told more than once a tip was not expected.
  21. I know Princess is not perfect, but I would go by their own website and not some third party. Sure, Princess may hold some cabins for guest entertainers and such, but the total cabins should be correct on Princess.com.
