  1. I can make a specialty dining reservation for an April 2024 cruise.
  2. I could say unbelievable however as both of us knows anything that’s screwed up with the Medallion app is fully believable!!! 🥴 For a variety of reasons we had cancelled all of our future Princess Cruises to try other cruise lines. However we recently booked Discovery’s total eclipse cruise in April 2024 and hopefully within the next 20 months the app will be fully functional but wouldn’t bet on it after nearly 5 years of a lack of reliability. Like others our app’s previous 50% discounted internet package has disappeared so it appears to be a system wide failure. Good luck to everyone who are affected & are sailing soon. 🤞
  3. The contradictions are very frustrating & someone at Celebrity needs to look at their website to eliminate conflicting info. 🥴
  4. For Royal-class multi course meal (drink prices are likely outdated) rp-alfredos_pizzeria-23-may-13(2).pdf
  5. On the USA site for all LA departures beginning on 9/5/22: https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/los-angeles-travel-requirements Testing Requirements Vaccinated Guests For all sailings 5 nights or less, no testing is required. For all sailings 6 nights or longer, vaccinated guests must present a digital or physical copy of a supervised and negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 3 days prior to sailing. Antibody tests are not accepted. Unvaccinated Guests For all sailings, unvaccinated guests must present a digital or physical copy of a supervised and negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 3 days prior to sailing. Antibody tests are not accepted.
  6. Thanks for the app info. We have booked the first night at the Tuscan Grille with a 33% discount plus purchased a 3 bottle classic wine package (5% discount). I’ve read that we’re allowed 2) 750ml bottles of wine per cabin but on this board it was posted that is now 2 per person. Can anyone confirm that’s changed or is it like Princess who allows 2 fee free bottles (in cabin) & others with a $20 corkage fee for more wine. If we can bring 4 to drink in cabin without any fee or pay a $25 corkage in a dining room we might go that route instead of the slightly discounted wine package with a tip added. Hopefully I correctly understand the process. 🤞
  7. Thanks for sharing your experiences…based on what I’ve read the specialty restaurants also add an automatic 18% tip whereas on Princess it’s included but sometimes we’ll provide a cash tip for exceptional service.
  8. I can see our early December reservation (booked 8 days ago) on the app however when I click on it I only received this notification…do we have to be closer to sailing to access it? I can access more options on their website.
  9. In your opinion how would you compare Celebrity to Princess? I’ve read some opinions that their food was a notch above Princess however taste is a very subjective opinion. Specialty dinners are about twice as expensive as Princess & internet is much more expensive than my PCL elite perk at $5/day.
  10. If I am reading it correctly we can use OBC to pre-purchase the first night dinner at Tuscan Grill with a 33% discount. Just over half of our OBC covers tips so considering that first night discounted dinner. I’m guessing that offer might sell out before boarding the ship and that it would be best to pre-purchase it?
  11. Thanks…then just like Princess. Appreciate the quick replies so we can begin to plan how we’ll spend our OBC. My TA is sailing the same ship in a couple of weeks on a fam cruise & will share her experiences with us. 😊
  12. Thanks…great! 👍 My TA was told by Celebrity that our OBC could not be used for gratuities…apparently it’s not only Princess reps who provide incorrect information.
  13. First time Celebrity cruiser after many days sailing on Princess who deducts the daily gratuities from any type of credit in our onboard account. I did not see that using OBC for gratuities was an option & my TA was told by Celebrity that OBC cannot be used for gratuities. On Princess some types of OBC have exclusions however they are a simple credit to our onboard account from which any debits are deducted. Does Celebrity allow using OBC to pay gratuities? Hopefully yes because we have more OBC than we’d likely use onboard which like on Princess is primarily non-refundable. Thanks to anyone who could provide any insights about my question.
  14. Midship obstructed view balconies (only when looking down) are reasonable for Discovery's eclipse cruise & many have larger balconies. BW: $1,159 DW: $1,244 It's the same price for all of the Emerald deck obstructed view cabins no matter where they are located.
  15. Princess does the same confusing thing & they state their Cruise Health webpage has the current accurate information which for PCL was 3 days. Although I understand why some decide to be safe & do it 2 days in advance. If the requirements are the same for our December cruise will print their 3 day requirement to show if necessary during embarkation. That gives us an extra day to get our PCR test results in case it takes longer than our previous 24-36 hour results from our healthcare provider.
  16. This is their FAQ statement for USA cruises effective 8/8/22: https://www.celebritycruises.com/healthy-at-sea/updated-us-travel-requirements Vaccinated Guests For all sailings 5 nights or less, no testing is required. For all sailings 6 nights or longer, vaccinated guests must present a digital or physical copy of a supervised and negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within 3 days prior to sailing. Antibody tests are not accepted.
  17. This was Discovery’s E409 balcony which is a deluxe balcony obstructed view (DW) cabin with the only obstruction when looking down onto the outdoor Promenade deck. We prefer having the loveseat couch for 2 to have a place to sit now that there is only a desk chair. We’ve also had E436 which is a standard balcony also listed as obstructed but again only when looking down. The deck plan charts show the shapes of these larger balconies which are covered. E409 E436
  18. We just booked our first X cruise after nearly exclusively sailing on PCL for over 3 decades so appreciate this specialty dining info…thanks. On PCL OBC can be used for the daily gratuity but in Celebrity’s T&C gratuities are not listed as an option to pay with OBC…am I reading that correctly?
  19. At least B46 had a much larger tent terminal than at B55 where I boarded Discovery’s inaugural cruise in March. Sad that Sapphire is at B93 for most of September to be replaced by Celebrity Solstice on your embarkation day. When returning it shows B92 because Ruby is at B93 but both ships use the same parking lot if you’re driving from SV.
  20. B92 is as posted & B93 is the larger 2-level cruise terminal used for filming the Love Boat series.
  21. If the port schedule is correct Diamond will be docked at B93 from 8/4 to 8/27 and then Sapphire at B93 from 8/28-9/8 and from 9/18-9/24. https://www.portsamerica.com/operations/cruise-los-angeles-terminal-schedule
  22. You’re welcome…after accounting for 45 years of inflation today’s cruises are a bargain.
  23. As I recall it’s a fail safe system…it requires power to go underwater & if power fails it safely returns to the surface.
