I am also unimpressed with the MDR lobster on elegant night. Last time I had it was several months ago. I ordered one and my server brought two. One was terribly salty, so much so that I couldn’t even taste the lobster. The other one was soft and mushy. I didn’t finish either one and ordered something else instead. For excellent lobster tail, either go to the steakhouse or pay the up charge to get steakhouse lobster in the MDR.

How long did it take for them to deny your request? Just wondering what their turnaround time is lately. I’m still waiting to hear.

On my last cruise I wasn’t able to get the water from a bar. They told me to just take one of the bottles in the cabin and I wouldn’t be charged for it. I did that and there was no charge. Seems simpler than the bars taking care of it.

I received an upgrade offer from 4J cabin to balcony on Panorama in January for $452. No thank you for that price. 4J cabins are pretty nice and I wouldn’t pay that much more for a balcony.

I’m glad you and your mom both got your new Diamond/Platinum cards.

My husband checked with Guest Services for one of these and they said they had very few and they were already spoken for. This was as soon as we got on the ship. This isn’t something that can be depended on.

My husband has used these as well, and they work very well.

I know that’s how it’s supposed to work, but I never got the email with the attachment until about 2 weeks before my cruise, after many many calls to Fly2Fun. I wasn’t even concerned about upgrading or selecting my seat—I just wanted to know I had a flight home.

Thank you for all that information. I personally will avoid booking through Fly2Fun in the future because of the problems I had in April and how stressful it was. The good news is that the flights themselves went just fine. It was all the issues leading up to them that I didn’t care for.

I had a similar problem back in April when I booked my flight home from Barcelona after the Pride TA. I had the original schedule from when I booked the flights. Then there was a schedule change and I tried calling first my PVP, who had no access to the booking since there was a schedule change and it was in Fly2Fun’s hands. So I called there many many times, and every time I was told to wait 48 hours and it would be remedied. Of course it wasn’t. About 2-3 weeks before my cruise I got someone who seemed to care, and I told her I was considering booking flights on my own because I had no confidence that I would have flights with Fly2Fun. I told her everyone had told me 48 hours and nothing ever happened. She said she had “someone” she would elevate this to, and voila, about 24 hours later my flights were ticketed. I wasn’t wanting to upgrade, I just wanted to know I had a way home. I hope this works out for you! I feel your pain.

When I have been on the Pride and Splendor recently, the coffee card was buy 6 get 1 free. Perfect for a 7 day cruise.

I have also been in 1A cabins without portholes, and find that having the port hole brightens things up quite a bit. They’re a great find for solos especially.

Is the upcoming cruise also on Panorama? I ask because I have a 1A with portholes booked on an upcoming Panorama cruise and wonder whether I’ll have the same good luck as you have.

I hope you’re having a great flight home, Greg. Thank you so much for the outstanding live review. My DH is originally from Brooklyn and still has family there, so we go to NYC from time to time, but we have never been to many of the places you visited. You made NYC come alive! Thanks.

The last two cruises I was on, both Carnival Splendor, they had many trivia’s each day, probably 6-7. Unfortunately they were giving pendants as prizes, no ships on sticks. They cited supply chain issues and said they were “out” of ships on sticks. However, at special events hosted by the CD, ships on sticks were given out as prizes.

Are you going straight to the airport, or doing more sightseeing in NYC?
