  1. Platinums and Diamonds can no longer arrive anytime they want. Same with FTTF. You will have to select an arrival time, and your brother and his wife will have to select their arrival time. P/D passengers can select an arrival time 16 days ahead, but FTTF has to wait till 14 days prior to the cruise. So if you want the same arrival appointment you will have to wait till 14 days prior to coordinate with your brother and his wife. At the terminal boarding is called by group. Suites and wedding parties are first, then Diamond, then Platinum, then FTTF, and then everyone else. Being connected as Cruise Companions will not give your family members access to board with Platinums, but they should be right behind you.
  2. Thank you for that suggestion. I’ll definitely check it out!
  3. When I recently became Diamond on the Celebration TA, I was looking forward to my Diamond card. When I opened the envelope outside my cabin, it had a PLATINUM card in it. I had to go to Guest Services to get the proper card. A friend I was traveling with had the same thing happen, getting a Red card when she became Gold on the cruise. So don’t get discouraged if you get the wrong one to begin with.
  4. Thank you both. It looks easy enough to do. Just have to decide between Uber and Lyft before I get on the shuttle bus, from the sounds of it.
  5. I’m sailing on the Panorama in January and arriving on Friday, planning to take Uber to Long Beach hotel. I can’t walk 15 minutes with my luggage. Does anyone have information about where to get the shuttle that will take me to the ride share lot?
  6. I just write “Diamond Wash and Fold” prominently on the slip that goes in the bag with the clothes. I roll the clothes tightly to get in as much as possible.
  7. I was booked on the Jubilee TA as well and rebooked for the Venezia TA. Should be a good cruise. TA’s are my favorite.
  8. Looking forward to following your live review and reminiscing about the wonderful time I had on the Celebration TA. Enjoy!
  9. I totally agree with this. Love those 4J’s and I have never heard anything from the bridge.
  10. If you’re willing to lose the $100, you could just not make the final payment and your cruise would be cancelled. In your planner you can find out what the cancellation fee would be, depending on what rate you booked. Look under booking and order details. I thought you could also cancel on-line. But you could also call the main Carnival number and cancel with them. You should not have to tell them your reason for cancelling.
  11. It’ means an upgrade from one category within a room type. For example, if you book an ocean view room, you might get a midship room rather than forward or aft. It doesn’t mean an upgrade from OV to balcony, or inside to OV. It doesn’t mean much but it sounds good.
  12. It’s a diamond/platinum party and invitations are sent to the cabins.
  13. You should probably post this under Carnival Venezia roll calls.
  14. When I was on the Celebration TA there were never more than 4-5 people ahead of me. Same with Big Chcken. Most times I just walked right up, no line at all.
  15. I’m a teetotaler so I don’t know the difference but I’ve heard it’s bottom of the barrel bubbly.
  16. I’ll be on a B2B in January and I’ll ask my cabin steward if they’d like the champagne as well as the fruit. Never thought of that before.
  17. You can contact Carnival, but I can tell you from experience that they don’t allow this.
  18. Thank you so much for sharing your cruise with us, Megan! I’ll be on the Panorama for B2B January 7th through 21st, and I enjoyed getting a preview of what’s to come. Loved the review!
  19. I have been on many Carnival TA’s. Typically there are not many children onboard. On the recent Celebration TA there were only about 100 kids. However, with the Venezia sailing late in May, schools will be out in many areas and there will likely be a lot more kids. The ship is selling very well, with suites and OV’s already sold out, so I think it will be full or close to it. Nancy
  20. When I was on the Celebration TA the room steward introduced himself the first day and said he does rooms between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. I thought he was asking for my preferred time, so I told him I’m always out of the room by 8:00, thinking that would help him. He said he doesn’t target any specific time for any staterooms, just does them when he gets to them between his stated hours. Never heard that before. Usually the steward are glad to know they have some early birds he can get to first.
  21. I didn’t get a certificate when I became diamond, just a letter letting me know about the benefits including the steakhouse dinner for 2. Guest Services said if I want to use it on a future cruise, just take the letter to the steakhouse on the cruise I want to use it on, and everything should be fine. I hope that’s so. I plan to use it on the Panorama in January.
  22. I think you got lucky. It probably didn’t have anything to do with being platinum, but possibly it was because of covid. Even though covid wasn’t the issue in your case, Carnival seemed to be more lenient about waiving fees during that time.
  23. I also had to cancel once because of a serious medical condition. Everything lazydayz mentioned above is correct. One thing very important is that you need to notify the insurance company right away once you become aware that you can’t make the trip. My policy was with Allianz also. It was 10 years ago, but as I recall, I had 3 days to notify them to start the process. Then they walked me through what needed to be done.
  24. Fly2Fun only gives you quotes after you’re already booked. I don’t know whether you can search Fly2Fun when you have a cruise on hold but not yet fully booked, but you could try that.
